    I've heard of a mother who was convinced her son was not the person in the casket. Grief does unusual things to us 😞

      I was unable to attend my grandmother's funeral, but from what I was told by relatives who were there, she was barely recognizable in the casket because of the heavy makeup they used on her. My grandmother seldom wore any makeup during her life (that I had known her) except for her and my grandfather's 50th wedding anniversary celebration, and then, it was just a touch of rouge and a bit of lipstick.

    In 2023 we paid $1,200 for my mil to be cremated. They did everything. They handled the paperwork and the arrangements. We picked her up 2 weeks later and put her in a really nice urn.

      In FL because my mom died without any plans or money, the state paid for her cremation. Then for my mother in law it was like $650. The funeral home treated us just like any other grieving family. They were really amazing with my mom actually. A few weeks after her memorial we got a large envelope in the mail from them. It had booklet with a full color copy of the obituary page and printed out all of the messages left online. It also had a bookmark, leaflet from the memorial and a condolence card. It was really beautiful.

    The third and last case is shameful, the defendant says she was the favourite daughter and yet doesn't want to pay out anything towards the funeral, even though she got money from the policy. Once again money is the source of all evil...

      So what, kids live away from parents and vice versa! That does not mean they are entitled to their inheritance. Trustee is NOT the same as a beneficiary! You have to be listed as both trustee and beneficiary! If you are o ly listed as trustee, you are the over seer of the disbursement of the estate to the legal heirs only!

  • @GrampiesCorner
    @GrampiesCorner 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Secomd case, just because she was there does not mean she was entitled to the money! A trustee is just in charge of dispersing the finds to the beneficiaries!!if she was NOT clearly defined as the beneficiary as well as the trustee, then she is NOT the beneficiary!

    My mom has no money and I won’t inherit anything when my dad dies (his 3rd wife and her kids are his favs). I accepted those facts and I’m OK with it. 1st case - I'd like a dollar for each time she said, "You know..."
    The more I hear about what has happened at other people's loved ones' funerals, the more I appreciate that I was born into my family!!! We may have problems with each other - like most families do - but we can at least act civilly while making important decisions such as these. Even including step siblings!
    2nd case - We had a brother who lived in another state & couldn't make it for hospital stays before another brother passed. But, you can bet your last dollar that he got just as much as the rest of us! We don't count the cost of sitting with the dying. It's a privilege because we love them!

    Death does make ppl act crazy. When my great grandma passed when i was a little girl, like 5 years old, my grandma (who was the oldest girl) asked my mom to do the obituary. My great uncles agreed. But one of my great aunts didnt like the idea and came into a room where we were, accusing my mom of trying to take over. my mom explained to her that she was appointed by her mom and uncles, but she didn'twant to cause problems. My great aunt had a 🔫 wrapped in a towel and was walking towards my mom and tried to pew pew her in the stomach (she was pregnant with my little sister)! my moms brother tackled her and took the gun away. I remember it like it was yesterday and im 44 years old! Thank God my uncle was there at the time

    If the plaintiff lost hair in the fight, why wasn't it part of the lawsuit? It didn't look like it had been pulled out. It looked cut. I've had my hair pulled so hard it separated my scalp from my skull, and what was torn out from the roots did not grow back. Her hair looks to be growing there where she says it was pulled out.
    On the second case, I'm just glad that when my father passed, my siblings and I knew exactly what his wishes were for the distribution of property. There was no fighting or squabbling over anything. He had burial insurance and a VA pension that took care of everything.

    These instances are truly disheartening and somewhat disillusioning. Families who have shared years together suddenly find themselves torn apart when faced with funerals and expenses. I've consistently remarked on this in every instance; there are often unseen complexities stemming from underlying issues that propel them into legal battles. More often than not, these problems had already taken root long before they escalated into legal matters. Litigants frequently emphasize, 'We've been family for 30 years,' highlighting the duration of their connection, yet within those years, unresolved conflicts serve as the primary catalyst for their courtroom confrontation. Each case echoes a recurring theme: families grappling with financial strain, which serves as a testament to their struggle in addressing deeper familial issues. Money, regardless of the length of familial ties, tends to be the force that ruptures familial bonds. It's disheartening to witness the unresolved issues surrounding the core of these cases, sometimes unrelated to the legal matter at hand.

WHAT? no they mixed up two women and the one that was supposed to be cremated was put in his mother's casket and his mother was cremated beforehand by accident.
