I vote this “my favorite Kate video”!!!! 🫶🫶🫶 Unbelievable breathtaking pieces! So much history. So very glad it wasn’t all destroyed!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you Kate for sharing 🫶♥️🫶♥️🫶
Thank you, Kate! My love of glass has come from you and your passion for it. You have taught me so much. I love your genuine love and enthusiasm for all things. Please don’t ever lose your contagious laugh. I am so happy that I stumbled upon your channel.
You should ask this owner if you can do a hometour of his home. Maybe start filming homes of antique dealers and people that are into vintage. That could be a great series on your channel lol. I also love how excited you both are. Being in this business is so much fun
Thank you for the tour! I’ll never be in NYC, so it’s a special treat to see all the gorgeous glass, and art! I hope they are able to move the remaining pieces from upstairs without any further loss! How devastating to lose even one item, but it could have been much worse, I suppose.
OMG, really OMG! What amazing items in his store. The man is absolutely right about buying things super cheap on eBay about 25-30 years ago. 80% of my collections are from eBay and from 1995-2010. I can't afford to buy high-end things on eBay anymore especially with their ridiculous shipping charges.
😳🤩😍 I wanna be him when I grow up ... seriously, he said so many important things in your video I'm actually saving a few of his quotes for further use 😇 Kate, you have made some pretty epic travel and pick videos, but I think this is definitely in the top five , easy 🏆 I hope you get to go back once they're all reset
A wonderful man with a wonderful shop. This is how the trade moves and keeps going - all of us in the 80s and 90s, buying this retro 'junk' that no one wanted, keeping it hoarded away for a time when it could be appreciated. When I was in art school ('91) all the art students had wild mid-century/70s disco pads. The thrifts were bursting with shag rugs, rocket lamps, Murano, Danish furniture... as always the creatives were well ahead of the curve!
This shop is always a mandatory stop when I'm in NYC, and it never fails to impress me! Thank you, Kate, for showcasing this hidden treasure and bringing some joy to my stress filled day. 💕
I lost count of having repeat peeks! The one red piece holding up the sky would be such a must have! Kate i didn't realize the extent of your knowledge of glass! And pottery! Also your modesty of it all. I'm so happy you are stepping up for yourself. Think of writing a book of this journey and your mom...you are such a character of interest and endearment to us all. ❤
What a tragedy! Such a beautiful place with amazing treasures! I’d literally cry seeing such magnificent things all in one spot… hold on while I peel my jaw up off the floor 😮
❤ Been! Super NICE people! Getting to see so much wall-to-wall Amazingness! It sticks WITH you, this is a GLORIOUS Collection, the feeling of being there! Overwhelming in the nicest way! Just really levels your senses up; opens your eyes up, to so much of what is better-better-best! Thank you for sharing ❤
Crazy good video! Thank you so much for including us in this transformative experience. Videos like this just make me feel better about the whole world!
Great sadness on the ceiling collapse on such an epic, legendary, breathtaking store!!! And yet "I Have no Words" my eyes are in pain from experiencing such beauty in glass!!!💞💞🙃💞💞
A "Tsunami of beauty" That should be the title of a book following the beginnings of this marvel to the rebirth " At 66 years young this gentleman is a pure font of knowledge. I hope everything goes smoothly for him and his colleagues. Kate, I would love for you to take us back when it's fully operational Thanks to both of for a wonderful history lesson ❤❤❤❤❤
So nice of him to give you the tour even with his place in reconstruction mode. Hope you can go back when he get everything set back up. Thanks for sharing.
Ok … watched the video for a second time … the juxtaposition of the beautiful colorful glass in an unlit dark and dusty basement = perfection … thank you for introducing us to this amazing gentleman and shoppe … I’m available to assist in cleaning the glass for the grand opening
What a lovely gentleman. I’m so sorry this happened to him, but very glad that no one was injured. So much wonderful glass, and lots of Bitossi too. Take care darling Kate xx
OMG That guy and store take my breath away. I definitely want to know when he has it restored. I think the Murano piece of the pink birds on a tall branch is by the same female designer Tyra Lundgrem I have 2 smaller pieces that she did for Murano.
Wow .... i am speechless. What a find of pure treasure! just wonderful and a wealth of knowledge from this wonderful man. Thank you for taking us along with you. My heart is full. Cant wait for you to go back and film the newest and bestest that this shop will be! Thank you again Kate.
Thank you so much Kate. The owner was such a nice man. He re!lly was able to show his pride in his collections, & some how remained modest. What a wonderful place to shop. Hope u take us back when he's ready to reopen 🎉 so glad anly a bit was damaged.
I heard of this place back in the late 90's when my daughter was a dancer and we often had to go to NYC. Unfortunately I never had time to get there. I wonder if a high-end auction house like Sotheby's might be a way to raise funds. There's SO MUCH amazing things in that basement alone! Great for you to highlight this gem & the owner.
What an amazing tour! So many wonderful things! I absolutely love the story of the boxes! I am so glad he was able to save so much. Thank you for taking us on this adventure!
