Wow! What a great game! With all the Flash cutscenes, Scott Innes voicing the Duo once again, and said duo solving the mystery all by themselves, WITHOUT the aid of the gang!
The animation of both Scooby and Shaggy during the animated cutsences for these games is so fluid and smooth it actually looks really good and the style of how they look reminds me a lot of how they looked in What's New Scooby-Doo
There are alternate paths in this game: Episode 1: Area 1: Put the diving board back in place and use it reach the string of flags above. The ghost pirate will then scare shaggy, so use Scooby to ring the bell to distract the pirate. Area 2: There’s another way to reach the bridge. Use the power box on the right to shut off the lights and then climb the light pole to reach the nearby balcony. Finally, enter through the door. Area 3: You can avoid the pirate by hiding under the monitors. Episode 2: Area 1: You can also use the cannon to hold the gate open. Get the pole in the area with the shark and use it to knock a nearby rock down onto the clam or use it to jam the clam’s mouth open. Then go around it and get the cannon. Area 2: Burn the spider web with the torch and go through the door. You will be taken onto the platform above. Turn the lever to rise the platform and use the plank to form a bridge. Episode 3: Area 3: You can also use the part found to the left of the door to fix the pipe on the bottom left. The bolt in the right compartment can also be used to patch up the pipe on the right. Episode 4: Area 1: Grab the axe and the oar and the lifeboat. Use the axe to cut the rope near the helm and then use it to swing to the sail. Then use the oar to knock the key down and then go pick it up. Area 3: If the cannon wasn’t used earlier, spin it around and put the net inside it. Hide until the ghost pirate comes out. When his back is turned, use the torch to light the cannon and it will fire the net at the pirate.
One think I at least like about both Scooby-Doo: Horror of the High Seas and Scooby-Doo: Mayan Mayhem, is that both Scooby and Shaggy solved least two mysteries by themselves without being too cowardly to do so as anti-heroes and that their other friends Fred, Daphne, and Velma weren't there to force them to join in solving the mysteries.
