It’s about controlling your feelings and emotions not pretending they don’t exist. If you need to talk about them, do that but, don’t hold onto them and weigh yourself down. Use them as motivation or release them in whatever work or hobby you have. Dana can’t tell anyone how to keep theirs in check, Maynard is right about that.
I agree 100%, and I think the fact that it has historically been the case that men kinda just have to ignore it and go to work has caused an immense amount of problems, but I also got the sense that Gray had a pretty high level of emotion when he wrote that and I think it would've been a better message if he hadn't. That's the kind of thing that guys who are of the same mind as Dana may scoff at and we need to carefully articulate our arguments to get more guys thinking differently. Imo, a more stoic, purely logic and reasoning based response would have been much better. One of the things that bugs me most is when people miss great opportunities for arguments that could actually persuade people on the other side of an issue into maybe thinking about it differently, and instead just say what they feel like saying. And I think we've gotta be willing to do what is more likely to be effective instead of what we simply want to do, if we are gonna claim to really care about the topic. Everything else about him aside, I'll always appreciate Paddy for that post fight speech he gave after his friend committed suicide

Aljo is talking street but I live right by Aljo. I am about 10-15 mins away from him. I lived here my whole life and I know all the towns. He lives in the SAFEST town on Long Island. 100 percent white, upper class people. Hes probably the only black guy who lives in that town. Its the total opposite of the hood. You have to make good money to live there. So this street business hes talking, not buying it.
I think the same way Dana does for the most part. I keep my feelings to myself. You have to push through and work hard. I dont let myself make excuses. I had it rough growing up so it made my skin thick. Men can still have emotions of course but dont cry over every least little thing.
