Hello from Australia.. it must be amazing for somebody who watches you two having you come and work on their truck.. oh and this is why they are called stepsides.. nice..
A little story for you in 1981 a buddy and me hitch hiked from central La. To New Orleans so he could buy one of these trucks same color even after we left the dealership we bought some beer and decided to take back roads home about 50 miles from home a 10 point deer jumped in front of the truck bent the bumper broke the grill blood everywhere we could not leave the deer so we put it put of its misery how sad that was even though we were hunters we had nothing but the jack that came with the truck so more blood loaded the deer in the back of the truck when we got home man oh man did his parents freak out at the sight of us and the truck all covered in blood lol
It's so awesome to see how excited Richard gets on that first start. That big ole Wooo Hooo!! You can tell he's very passionate about these old trucks and cars.
I have a 1981 with the 250 and a 4 speed long narrow box in that emerald green it has 115000 original miles on it, always been kept inside. My grandmother custom ordered it, I still use it. Also have a 73 almost identical to it but in a darker green she ordered it still has the original spare tire under the bed and has always been kept inside. Enjoyed your video.
It's such a great truck. You all did such an awesome job getting this done. You all snatched a loss and turned it into a victory. Much love and respect for all your hard work and love the subscribe to save a ride gave us a smile.
I think.christine needs to start her a channel I remember the one where she worked on the car I found it very interesting it's different then what u usually see on TH-cam great channel guys it's great to see Richard excited when the motor starts lol❤
Excellent Video Christina :) , Richard :) , Eric :) that 1981 Chevrolet C10 pickup step side with 250 6 cylinder motor with 2 barrel carb , Manual transmission 3 in tree , possibly 377 rear gears , green body and Beige seat with green interior! Also reminds of a friend of mine had 1977 GMC High Series Serria Scottdale 25 3/4 ton , his had 292 6 cylinder motor with 2 barrel carb , 2 fuel tank, Power Steering also Brakes, chrome west coast , 411 rear end gears too! Plus late friend of my late dad had Chevrolet , GMC in 1940 to 1995 pickup up in 1/2 , 3/4 , 1 tons in so many of them in different colors, Powertrains and all steps plus 2 or 4 wheels drives plus 1 or 2 fuel tanks ! Funny part when farm sale happen in 2017 truck sold for nice money and wishes could got one too! Also question you ask Richard did Farmers use trucks of step sides to get stuff out sides that is correct and myself was farm boy growing up years ago and did help lots !
One of the most reliable motors chevy ever made richard I got 350 thousand miles out of mine never let me down rhat girls in awesome condition for her age wow
Richard just what I thought after you got it unstuck. Those 6 cylinder engines are resilient. Love you got it going for him. Smoothing out. Hope you and Christina have a blessed 2024. . Happy New Year. A great save and wonderful way to start the year guys. 💯👍👊
Thank you for helping this Man out. I love the older cars and trucks. I wouldn't take 200 new Trucks over one like this one. As always I liked and shared. All my very best And a very happy New year to all.
Mr. B. Here ! 👀😎👍. Happy New Year guys ! FYI Richard ; back & forward on a manual will most of the time pop them free ! The owner should not take short cuts to make it ready and safe for the . I have done many vehicles and the system if it looks good may not be ! Nice job guys ! 👍👍👍👍👍☕️☕️
Hey Richard and Christine, it's not often you a vehicle from stuck engine to running and driving in just a short amount of time. Those ole Chevy trucks and the 250 inline 6 are bullet proof. Thanks for sharing guys.
I bought an '82 for 800 bucks years ago. it was a solid truck. its only issue was the exhaust manifold was cracked which was cast into the head. I removed the engine and tranny and dropped a built 350 and tranny in it. Loved that truck. Its gone now and the price of a good square body has gone through the roof. Yall are good people keep up the good work...
Just hearing it turn over and the fire blowing out was success its self I'm happy that worked out for you just let you know to keep on messing around with something and it will eventually give in nice
I love this channel. I will say that if it is in gear then pushing/pulling to break the engine loose then the rear tire must move to see that the engine is turning. clutch in start tow and then pop the clutch coould turn the engiine. Used to do that with my VW all the time.
Hey Christina and Richard,Happy new year! Great job you two at getting her running again. I am sure you guys were freezing but you guys hung in there.😊
Custom deluxe was base and s.o truckCustom is the base trim level which means no trim. Custom Deluxe steps up to fancy door panels and trim on the windows, dash knobs, cloth seat, lower trim on the outside. Still a rubber mat but color keyed w/interior. __________________ "BUILDING A BETTER
Nice truck! Richard is so methodical when getting these vehicles running. It's mesmerizing just watching him! The two of you work so well together. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and hope and pray that the new year goes well for you all!
Ok , so Richard says he has no idea why the engine broke loose with foreward motion ? I think it’s because of the trans gear ratios . Along with the fact that on dirt, there’s very little grip to the tires to begin with . So from all I can say I have encountered through the years , whenever you’re trying to break an engine loose , with a standard trans, your very highest option, is its highest foreward gear, on a surface where the tires will grip their best , and simply rock the thing back n forth . And in high gear , you’re not fighting any sort of gear reduction , working against you ! Love watching all these videos ! And thanks for sharing them !
Awesome in getting it unstuck! Never saw you top off the coolant, which I'm sure you did. My suggestion since you work on a lot of old cars and especially in the cold weather, carry a heat gun to soften up those hoses. You got that power cell to power it up. Great job guys.
That's fantastic!! 😁👏👏 Once again, hard work, skill and perseverance pays off! Awesome job, Richard! Thanks for sharing! I hope you and Christina are having a great new year!
its a good thing you didnt have to work on that carb that is one of the worst ones back then. its a rochester m2 or m2me. the same as used on the 2.8 chevy v-6 used in front wheel drive cars and the s-10 pick ups that like to blow up. they could have come out with a better emission set up than that. that is what was the demise of the 250. i wonder how many miles are on that green jem. there wouldnt be nothing left of it if it were up here in ny were i am. take care you two and happy new year!
You and Christina never disappoint. Always great content and entertaining. And I have been looking for the good luck milk bottle. Is it retired? Lol I've been noticing a good luck overflow bottle in place of it. I love the square bodies too. Keep up the great vids!
Good video you got another one running . But something funny you don't see many step side trucks but I just saw one on another video the other day it was green too and the same engine
Greetings from Scotland Richard & Christina. A happy New Year to you both. Nice job guys ! That was a nice truck, and you had to work hard for that result. The cooler weather doesn’t help of course but 10 out of 10 for perseverance. Did you ever find out the mileage Richard ?. The truck beside it looked like a candidate for a ‘will it start’. Onward to the next one, I guess. Thanks guys.
Happy New Year I like that right there that is a good find keep it coming man don't stop the magic watching and learning dream to be on that same mission one day keep it coming nice 👍
You talked about the cold. I live in the Dallas Tx area and we do not have much real cold. I am so thankful I don't live u p north and have to deal with cold four or five months of the year. Richard sounds like he came from the north and for many reasons I bet he loves Tennessee.
Right on Daniel. I lived in Mass for many, many years. The weather is terrible. I also spent a few years in East Dallas, and it was surprising how cold January can be. Tennessee is so much better than both. We have a short winter, a nice spring, hot summer, and warm fall.
Good job, the truck said, "Let me get unstuck. These guys will not give up."
Any and all squarebodys need love, and im glad to see that ol country boy loves his! Good job gettin her goin again for him.

Great job, I love the passion you both have for getting these old vehicles going. And you did it while freezing in this Tennessee weather!
Another one saved from the dead! Seeing Richard so happy when that Engine was finally unstuck was just priceless.
That was a stubborn little bugger! That sounds really smooth. Christina, you are really getting good on your videotaping! Another fun video.

What a nice step side PU. You don't see these anymore and it's a pity! I love the old step sides and with a 250 six!
I do as well. The stick shift makes it even better.

I love that you guys are awesome by helping others with their vehicles

That is a beautiful step-side Square Body, and it doesn't even have a kinked hood. Now I hope this gentleman keeps her going.
Right, I don't see a straight hood very often. I am confident that truck will be back on the road this month.

I always liked the looks of the step side pickups and that one is very solid. I'm glad you were able to save it!
With stick shift vehicles we used to oil down the cylinders and then put it in gear and rock the vehicle. Worked most of the time.
Gret job Rich and Christine took a while to get un stuck but sounds great!!-onto the next!!!!
