I'm from Slovakia, but can speak english fluently.
I was at the movies this year to watch Avengers: Endgame with my brother. We were watching move trailers that they play before the movie starts and they played a trailer for a slovakian movie. I leaned to my brother to jokingly tell him "looks like a shit movie" in english, because it's an ongoing joke between us to mock slovakian movies. We also speak english together a lot instead of our own mother language. This random guy next to me looks over at me after I said that, then turns to his friends and says "fucking foreigners" in slovakian. Me and my brother both heard how insulted he sounded and laughed. I then told my brother "it actually looks like a cheap movie" in slovakian and the guy next to me turned dead in face after realising we understand him

My teacher came back from a trip to Morocco and claimed he could speak Arabic. He decided to get into a conversation with me and he was alright-ish, although his accent and pronounciation was horrible. He asked me to speak formal Arabic with him so I did. I could tell that he wasn't understanding me so I took advantage of that and told him that I was done with the school and wanted to kill myself. OMFG! I'm Filipino, besides speaking English, I'm also fluent in Spanish as I have been taught by my mestizo grandfather growing up. I have tons of stories like these but the best and funniest one happened at the mall. My brother (who can also speak Spanish) and I accompanied our Mom while she was shopping for shoes. As our Mom browsed for shoes, my brother went out to buy some food and I went to sit on one of the chairs, where people sit to try on their shoes. Then this couple came over and asked a saleslady in broken english if they can get a different shoe size for the shoe they were holding. As the saleslady went away, the couple started staring at me and started commenting on how I look in Spanish. They talked about why I dyed my hair blue, that I was maybe part of some cult or a gang, and wondered how my parents tolerated me for dyeing my hair..and so on. When my brother came back with food, that's when I started to embarrass them. "Brother, you're back." I said in full-on Spanish loudly, making sure they could hear me. At first, my brother was confused and answered in VIsayan-Filipino dialect like, "Why tf are you speaking Spanish?" And I answered in Spanish: "Because this couple thinks I didn't understand them. Does dyeing my hair really makes me part of a cult?" My brother laughed so hard and replied in Spanish. "They're stupid for thinking that. F*cking Judgemental people." And the couple apologized to me afterwards.

In case my username doesn’t give it away, I am Japanese. However, in case this comment doesn’t give it away, I’m fluent in English (and Korean but that doesn’t not play a role in this encounter) as well.
One afternoon, I used to work at a Starbucks and this one day a tourists came up to me and proceeded to ask for a Caramel Latte in very broken Japanese. And like a good employee, I began to set up the order and left the register to make it. As I did, I heard the man compliment the way my hair fitted well with my curves in English. Another tourist who was with him told him that his remark was rude. He responded saying, “So what? She probably doesn’t understand English.”. I only grinned and finished making his Latte.
When I made the callout, I said the whole thing in English. He came up to me and said thank you in very broken Japanese again. I only smiled as he took it and said, “I hate to break it to you sir, but if you struggle with Japanese you can just ask if any of us know basic English. By the way, your friend there was right. That remark you made flattered me, but I’m afraid I’m taken. Have a good rest of your day!” And then I turned around. His tourist friend was cracking up and when I looked up before leaving, that man’s face was flushed of all color.
    I’ve never been more proud.

So I was watching (more like making it a background sound, cuz I was folding clothes) this Korean TH-camr's live broadcast. There's no eng sub but majority of his viewers don't speak Korean.
At first, he was talking about stuffs like school or part time jobs he did.
But later on, he was suddenly became quite so I had to check on the screen.
He was still there but was seriously reading the comments.
Some of his Korean viewers were trash talking about the other subscribers that don't speak Korean. Like how they shouldn't be watching the live because they're stupid and wouldn't understand it anyways.
When the rude commentors were going too far, the TH-camr called them out softly at first. That's were I got the gist of it that something went wrong. ( I understand Korean about 80%)
    But those commentors keep going.
The youtuber suddenly spoke in english and tried to apologize in behalf of his rude viewers. He ended his live immediately because he knew that some of us can understand Korean almost fluently and he said that he doesn't want to create a community that allows hatred.
Props to him for actually speaking out. As well as being a good mediator to his viewers. 😢👍

I'm Italian, and this summer I went to study in England for two weeks.
We're eating in the city centre, one of my friends sitting on my best friend's lap. Two Italian guys pass by as we were talking and English and say "those two are lesbians" in Italian. My best friends looks at them while they walk away, smiles and yells out "AND ALSO ITALIAN" in Italian.
    Still laughing to this day.
Also one time in Spain I was trying to order something and I panicked so I was stuttering a lot. So the employee started telling his co-workers I couldn't speak Spanish and making fun of me because of it in Spanish. I forgot about being anxious and at some point I lost it, so I started to shame him in a fluent Spanish. I think I've never been so rude to someone before.

    A few years back:
My mom isn't from Malaysia but my dad is. I speak 3 languages fluently, once me and my mom walked into a store in a mall as she wanted to buy some traditional dresses for work as she's an ESL teacher. the girls in the store were Malay. Thinking I didn't understand them, they went on and on about how dumb we were to walk in here and to try to even wear their traditional dress. Also they would give us tourist prices instead of local prices. then commented about my mom's natural curly hair and my natural wavy hair. Of how we got it done professionally and we must be rich and what not. I kept listening and listening. Then came time to check out. I smiled at the girl at the cashier and spoke to her in Malay. The three girls working there turned pale and stuttering as she said how much it was then I smiled as I said, "is this tourist price or local price?" and she said local price, so my mom paid with her card. I also added that, our hair is natural as my mom is middle eastern and my dad is Malaysian. also told them to never under estimate people cause this is Malaysia and people do pick up Malay. They apologized and we walked out of the store. Told my mom later about it as we settled down to eat lunch together, we just laughed about it. Me and mom do that sometimes, we let them talk about us before I take the lead and they get burned!

I was on a group holiday in france with my school around 4 or 5 years ago and we went shopping in a little village just a way from where we were staying. (everyone on the trip spoke a little bit of french because it was a trip for the french class), we had a look round and walked into this really cute little shop that sold like crystals and witchcraft type stuff and nothing had a price label on it. my freind decided she wanted to buy this big fuck off lump of quartz and asked the women behind the till how much it cost in english. The women behind the till asked the other women, who was sat like futher back behind the counter. "How much can we charge for this" (in french), the other women quickly hushed her and replied this time in spanish "they're on a trip to france, they speak french idiot. dont be so stupid.", they have a little conversation about how much they can charge "the forgeiners" and the "silly little girls", they basically end up rounding the price up from about €5 to €15. So the cashier lady then turns to my freind and tells her in english, "that'll be €15, would you like to buy anything else?". So me and my freind are both half Spanish, and its actually her first language (my second), and she turns to the cashier and says, in spanish "I'll give you €7.50, for the rock and one of those necklaces", the cashier with like shaky hands at this point and a bright red face reaches out and picks up one of the blue coloured necklaces. and I can see that my freinds got a cheeky little grin on and wanted to rub in the she understood everything they just said, so she stops the cashier and says "No no, not blue." and I chipped in and said - ofc in Spanish - "I think the green one would go much better with you skin tone". the lady behind the till is literally beat red now and the other women has disappeared into the back room, and at this point our other freinds, who speak only a few words of spanish where just chipping in with "yes" and "no" and some colour suggestions here and there until we worked through all the colours and eventually narrowed it down to either pink or green and this whole things been going on for maybe 4/5 minutes now and the women just kind of snaps and says in english "You can have both the necklaces, and the rock for €7.50 if you leave right now" . so my freind took that deal and we all ran out the shop the moment she paid. we still laughs about it

This reminds of something that happened to me last year.
I just started middle school last year, my best friends came to the same school as I did, and we would usually speak in English (we're Indonesian). Around the first week, I had refused to socialize with people I wasn't familiar, when they spoke to me, I simply nodded my head in reply, and I only had conversations with my friends (in English, of course), so my entire class thought that I was from America or something.
One day, this guy from another class who has never seen or heard of me before, complimented my drawing in Indonesian, I was about to thank him, but one of my classmates pulled him over and loudly whispered that I wasn't able to understand. But the guy didn't believe my classmate and asked me if it was true (in Indonesian), and again, once I was about to reply, my classmate pulled him again and told him the same thing.
I was unbelievable annoyed at that point, I immediately shouted "Siapa bilang gw gak bisa bahasa Indonesia? Gw asli orang Indonesia kok" ("Who said I couldn't speak Indonesian? I am Indonesian after all" (I used a little bit of Indonesian slang on that so don't bother to Google translate it since it won't give you a proper answer). My classmate became very embarrassed and the guy from the other class laughed at him.

I speak 4 languages fluently, and one of them is Chinese. One time me and my mom went to a nail salon. They started talking about how skinny I was and how my mom doesn’t feed me well. Then they started talking about my moms appearance. They said how messy her hair was, how dried it look, and how bad her nails looked. I didn’t say anything until my mom got up to wash her hands and I looked the workers dead in the eye and said in chinese “Sorry but I have hyperthyroidism, and my mom feeds me quite well. My mom had a very stressful day and work and that is why her hair was messy, so I wanted her to get her nails done. If your going to talk about someone make sure they don’t understand you next time.” They turned pale, and when my mom got back I spoke to her in chinese and said “Some people are so rude, I don’t think we should leave them a tip.” After we got our nails done they apologised to my mom and I.

I am from a small city in Catalonia so I have 2 mother languages and I also speak English fluently.
I work in a butchery and some day an elderly couple from the UK came to buy some meat, but they didn't speak any Spanish or Catalan, they were talking to each other to figure out how to tell me what they wanted.
So I started talking in English to them and their faces just turned into a big smile. They told me they were on vacation and had troubles with the language, so we talked for 10 minutes or so after they bought what they needed.
They came back 3 more days just to speak some English with someone else than themselves before leaving to the UK. I really enjoyed meeting them and I believe they also did.

I'm a German travelling in Australia. The other day I was in a hostel in my dorm. There were four other Germans there, two of them girls. One of them kept trash talking about me, even though she didn't know me at all and hadn't even tried to talk to me. She blamed me for their spilled drinks (which they weren't supposed to have in the dorm btw) and for rubbish that was laying around their bunks. She also made comments about my shaved head and baggy clothes and how I looked like a homeless.
The other girl seemed quite nice though, so I talked to her in German while the others were gone.
As the first girl came back, I overheard the other one telling her on the hallway I was a German and could understand her.
She said she didn't want to sleep in our room anymore and would check out the next day, which she did. That was really quite amusing.

When I was on my third year of college I had an incident with a russian-speaking lady. What no one really knows is that I attended a boarding school where I learned Russian and could pretty much understand and speak it fluently. Since my brother and sister went to the same boarding school as I did, which means that all three of us speak in Russian as our secret language around everyone else. As I was waiting in line for a burger and fries in college cafe there was a lady behind me that was talking on the phone with someone and clearly describing how I looked and how of a terrible person I was because I was blonder and taller than she also she proceeded to call me the most terrible names I ever heard anyone say about someone and all of this was spoken in Russian language. Well just in time when she went on with her rant my sister called to ask me where we would be able to meet up to study so relentlessly I responded in Russian "hey I am in cafeteria I'll meet you at this table" and all I heard behind me was "**** she speaks Russian too" after paying for my food I turned around to her and wished her a good day in my broken Russian language. The look on her face was priceless 😂 basically don't mess with a blond because you don't know if she could be smarter than you

They started flirting and both couldn't speak the language of the other. That way, I heard the boys trying to come up with some cool pick up line in French. One guy is like "Oh I know one! Tu es fromage (bad French for you are cheese)". They were so proud and the girls played as if that really was a good line but laughed about them in French.

So this year in Croatia I and a cousin of mine were talking in German near a pool and there were 4 Polish guys who clearly hadn’t a clue we understood them, even though we laughed at some of their jokes. Let me tell you, it’s an upsetting sight, when people want to prank you (in our case asking us out to dance and throw us in the pool*), plan everything out, only for you to say: “Nope, not today.” in their language. Two of them straight up ran way, while one of them was red as a tomato and the other looked everywhere but at us.

One night I was walking home from work, it was a late saturday night in one of the busiest suburbs of Sydney. I was wearing my waitress uniform and I heard two guys walking behind me speaking french very casually (they were probably convinced I was australian or a non french speaker) and trying to guess my age. The conversation went like this:
Guy 1: "How old do you reckon that chick is?" *laughing*
Guy 2: idk man, maybe 16?"
Guy 1: "are you kidding? She looks like she's 12!"
I then proceeded to turn around with my best smile and tell them (in French) : "Hey nice to meet you! I'm 20 by the way :)"
They looked at each other and didn't say a word as I walked off.

Apologies for the length. I was with my Mom back when this had happened. Her and I were at Target and she was shopping for a new purse because the one she had at the time was quite literally falling apart.
Any who, my Mom is Puerto Rican but she looks like a white woman. Her parents, who were both born in Puerto Rico look way more Puerto Rican than their 5 kids, it’s pretty funny actually, but a lot of shit goes down as a result, shit like the coming story.
So, my Mom is suuuper picky about her purses. So what she adoes when she’s in the process of picking a potential new purse is, she takes SOME of her key items from her current purse, like her wallet and makeup bag etc., and she places them in the candidate purse to see if they’ll fit while leaving some extra room or not. She happened to be doing just that when an old Spanish couple was walking by us, heading towards the exit while watching what’s going on on our end.
I wave and smile at them, just being polite as Mom had always taught me and she does the same. They wave back and smile before the wife grabs her husband and pulls him along to move faster so they can go.
She starts saying to her husband in Spanish, “What a shame! This woman is here in broad daylight, clearly stealing that purse! And even worse is that she’s teaching her daughter this shameful behavior!! My God, let’s get out of here!!”
My Mom, having heard every word this woman assumed and spouted to her husband, put the purse down, turned to her and replied to her in Spanish, “Excuse me, I would never steal let alone teach my daughter that it’s ok to. If you’re so concerned with what I’m doing as a “moral-less” mother, why would you leave instead of reporting me to an employee or manager?” That woman’s face went as white as milk before turning red as an apple with embarrassment, it was such a sight!!!
Her husband started laughing and he said in heavily Spanish accented English, “This is wha’ ju get for always having someting to say about everyting ju see anyone do. This was bound to happen an’ it’s finally come to bite ju in the culo (ass) because ju don’t know when to chut up an’ mind ju business!!!” When he said bite, he raised his hand 🤚🏽 and then snapped it shut ✊🏽 when he said culo. Ngl, he made me laugh, cause he was clearly done with her triflin’ ass bullshit.
That woman couldn’t leave the store fast enough, she was so embarrassed. And to be fair, I guess it could look like stealing in someone else’s eyes, but we were literally right next to the checkout lines/customer service desk. I’m sure people have done that before but damn, my Mom would never.
Moral of the story? Watch what you say, kids, even in your native tongue. You never know when that someone knows exactly what you’re saying and you just might be the one who leaves embarrassed with your tail between your legs.

    So I have two stories.
1.) Once, I was at a dinner, and I was sitting next to these two German guys. Guess what? I speak fluent German and ASL. These guys next to me were talking with each other in German about how ugly I was and how I must have been hurt on my face when I was young, because it was so screwed up. They had no clue I knew what they were saying. It continued on like this for the entire dinner, and when it was over, I was leaving and one of the guys said "You dropped your coat!" In heavily accented English. I picked it up and said, "Thank you, have a wonderful night." In perfect German. The guy and his friend's faces turned beet red, then ghostly pale. I just walked away confidently as they discussed in German how embarrassed they were, so I shouted back "Du solltest sein! Gute Nacht!" (you should be, goodnight). They were mortified.
2.) Another time, I was visiting my aunt who is blind and deaf. Because of this, she has to have caretakers with her at all times, and everyone in the family has to know how to speak ASL.
One of her caretakers was fairly new, and didn't know that everyone in the family spoke ASL. We were sitting outside, and she started talking about what she and her boyfriend did last night in sign language. I just sat there, sipping my tea and watching her describe in graphic detail to her friend, who did know I speak ASL, but had no clue I was watching. at one point, the girl said in sign language, "thank God for penis, who could live without it?" I just looked up and said in English, "lesbians." She looked over at me, shocked, and asked "what do you mean, lesbians?" I replied, "Lesbians can live without penis." The look on her face was priceless. For the rest of my trip, she was acting awkward around me, and wouldn't make eye contact or have a conversation. It was worth it, though.

I’m portuguese and I speak 4 languages including french. When I moved to France, first day of school, my history teacher asked me questions in english like how fluent I was, if I felt more comfortable speaking in english or in french and if I needed help understanding something to not hesitate to ask for help, and I think my classmates assumed I didn’t spoke french. So after a few days of not hearing me speak french (because I was shy) they started to talk about me, making jokes, trying to guess why I moved... and I let them, I didn’t really cared... until they started catcalling me in the middle of classes, one of them told his friends what he was going to do to me and how I was probably really wild in bed and they just laugh... so I turned around and called his name and by now everyone was looking at me (probably because I hadn’t spoke to anyone in class before) and I told him in perfect french “why would I or anyone in this room what to do anything with you?” and he just turned pale while everybody laughed... my history teacher laughed and told them that joke was on everybody how assumed I didn’t spoke french

I’ve told this story on a similar compilation before, but I’ll say it again here. I’m white Australian, in line to order Mexican food from a place that seems to hire exclusively Spanish-speaking staff (one of the many things that I love about the place as I love listening to Spanish). Anyway, I had just finished ordering my food, when the girl who was serving me and another girl from the kitchen were obviously looking at me and talking to each other in Spanish. The one in the kitchen looked me up and down and said something to the other girl, who then looked me up and down and agreed. I don’t speak Spanish, but I’ve heard enough of it spoken in American TV shows to know that whatever they said is DEFINITELY an insult along the lines of “slut” and “whore”. So I swore at them in French 😂😂
Also, a more wholesome one. I worked in retail, and every so often I would come across customers who speak French. I never let on that I studied French, out of fear that they would then try and communicate with me (I can understand French, but when speaking the grammar becomes jumbled in my mind and I often end up sounding stupid). Anyways, I was ringing up the items for a couple from the French-speaking part of Belgium, and every so often they would talk amongst themselves in French while still talking to me in English (they were still very polite in French and weren’t making rude comments). Suddenly, the woman yells something like « oh mon dieu mon chéri j’ai oublié quelque chose ! J’ai oublié le chocolat ! » I didn’t know how to tell her in French that she could run and get it, and she was fluent in English, so I just kept a blank expression and said “if you’ve forgotten something, you can go and get it if you want?” Perhaps she had an inkling that I understood her, I’ll never know. All I know is that she was so happy that she could go and get the chocolate 🙂🙂
I’m now wondering what the massive Brazilian community has been saying about myself and my old coworkers 😂😂

So im half Swiss and Thai. I look More European than Asian ( still looked Asian) but with tan skin because it’s common for Thai people to be tan. I speak fluent English because I go to an international school and I’m able to speak german and Thai because of my parents. In July I went to seven eleven to get a slurpee and it was on a Wednesday, I was waiting in line to pay for my slurpee when the lady next to me, paying at another counter, turned and eyed me. I didn’t think much because Thai people look at mixed people as foreigners, bUT then all of a sudden she said "Jesus Christ kids these days are skipping school thinking it’s cool. Their parents are not teaching them properly“ in Thai. You see Thai schools are in session when summer is occurring in America and such places ( their summer holidays are at the end of March till the start of May). So, I decided to respond with “You know, international schools exists right? So maybe you should shut your mouth“ And deadass her mouth hung open when I said that. The girl who was behind the counter I was using deadass giggled-
I will never forget this moment-

One time, I was on vacation with my family in Tunisia. We have booked a 2 day long Sahara tour in a local travel office. Being a Hungarian, I was quite surprised when another Hungarian family joined the tour as well (they were barely speaking any other language than Hungarian). The little boy there was really scared of the local Arabs and was constantly crying about his insecurity for his father. During the second day, the father had enough and said " shut up or these Arabic nomads are going make a stew of you". The boy basically shat his pants and grabbed onto his teddy bear. Our local guide - Hassan - suddenly busted out laughing. As it turned out he studied economics in a Hungarian university and more or less understood everything we were talking about during the trip. He claimed that this was the most racially funny thing he's ever heard.

I'm German and English is my second language.
When I was 14 I went on an exchange to Edinburgh. After a few months in my new class we got two new students, two girls. One korean and one chinese. My friend introduced them to me, my friend said "This is Laura she is an exchange student from Germany.". They politely introduced themselves. In break they set next to me on a bench and started to talk about me in korean, they said some mean things like "she is so ugly" or "why does Amber like her she is so annoying". By the time we had to go back inside, I stood up and said to them (in korean) "Its not nice to say such things about a person you never really talked to and don't know them." Their faces went pale and they went inside very quickly and apologized in the next break.
Sorry for my bad grammar 😅

    A wholesome one:
My grandfather and his brother speak French, but not English. I speak English, but not French. We also share another language, but that's beside the point. So, we were traveling in the Netherlands and wanted to order some food. As none of us know dutch, I proceeded to translate our order to English for the guy at the counter, and he didn't really understand English very well. My grandpa and his brother start talking to each other in french about something, and it turns out that the dude at the counter also speaks French. After that discovery, we had a way easier time placing our order.

Like someone be talking crap about them and they just they there politely and in the end they casually reveal that they understood everything people said and just leave. There was this one time me and my friend went into a store. For background, we both look Asian but aren't. I'm a local and she's a tourist. Which means a speak the local language. We enter this shop and say hello in English and we're just browsing. The sales assistant asks if they can help and we simply say we're still looking. They start speaking in the local language between them and I hear everything they're saying. So, so rude. I just told my friend to leave and go to another shop. I didn't even bother to say that I could perfectly understand what they were saying. I simply think that it's so sad and I feel pity for these such small minded people. People who think others won't understand what they're saying. What pissed me off more was that I used to buy at this shop but now I cant, I'm boycotting them for their rudeness towards potential customers.

I’m Dutch and one time me and my family went to Dubai on vacation. We went to the big water park one day when we were there and for some reason I can’t remember my brother went on a slide without me. He stood directly behind 3 Dutch kids with one guy the same age as my brother. They assumed he was from Dubai because he spoke crappy English to some other tourist that was in line earlier (my brother was like 10 at the time). They started making jokes about him. When it was their turn to go on the slide it turned out that you’ve got to have 4 people to go on the raft that you had to go in to to go on the slide. They asked my brother since he was alone “do you want to go with us?” To which he replied in Dutch “Yeah that’s fine, bc I’m alone”. They all laughed about it and they apologized to my brother and they kept in touch till this day. My brother is almost 19 now.

When he went up to one of the ladies who had been handing out the donuts, he asked in Fijian but his pronunciation was slightly off and instead for donuts, he asked for testicles. After that, it became a joke for us to start calling donuts "testicles".

Wholesome story... I was living in Hawaii at the time, going to university to learn Japanese. There are a lot of Japanese tourists in Hawaii. One day I'm running errands, passing through the Iolani Palace area of Honolulu, and while waiting for a light I notice a Japanese couple that looks very lost. The guy timidly approaches me and asks in very broken English where they are and gestures at the map they're holding. My spoken Japanese tended to suck, but luckily, we were studying directions so it was fresh in my mind, and I've been told my accent is great and my mannerisms are spot on. I give a slight bow, tell them I'm happy to help, point out where they are on the map, what direction they should go to get to the mall, and was able to suggest a bus to them if they didn't want to walk. They were stunned but so, so happy.
Another quick story; I went into a shop in Waikiki to grab a treat for my coworkers, paid for it, turned around, and found the shop stuffed wall to wall with Japanese tourists. I slipped through, murmuring "すみません!" ("excuse me!"), and they parted, but I heard a wave of shocked commentary over the fact it was a white girl speaking Japanese! Made me laugh all the way back to my shop.

The story I'm gonna tell is quite crazy.
I'm French, but I speak more often English because it's more simple.
This happened when I was like 9, so my level in English wasn't as good as know, but I was better than every others kids of my age.
I was on a trip in an Englishspeaking island, with my parents, and we were on the beach looking at the sunset. Y'know, I wasn't the type of kid to be super thin and small, I was very chubby and hella tall (I looked a 12yearold instead of a 9yearold), plus I was very ugly. Like, seriously. Doby is less ugly then me, to say.
So, there was this couple who was probably American but I don't know, with their kid. (I can also put that story in an entitled parent vid..). It's important to know that my parents don't speak a word of English at all.
This couple, with that plastic blond haired woman (the worst cliché I'm sorry but it's true) and that fat dude, was looking at me, idk why. Then, the woman turns to her husband and said something that I didn't hear. I was peacefully making a sand castle with others French kids, so I first didn't care about it. Then, I heard the couple laughing their ass off, so I turned around and saw them looking at me again. I looked at them back, and when the fat dude said "She's so ugly and fat, what a shame for her parents! French people are so stupid". It took a few seconds to understand that, but when I got it, I was really mad. Because first, I'm a boy (I'm trans since my youngest age), and second, don't they dare talking shit about me. I am that kind of kid with a very exploding personality, so I just gave them my darkest look, and said in a quite broken English: " Look at you! You are so fat, too. At least, me, I'm not a Barbie plastic bottle, and I'm not as thin as a stickman. You are stupid!" They looked at me with those enormous eyes, I was so angry. My mom saw my angry face, and she asked me why, I pointed at the couple while saying "C'est des méchants! Ils m'ont insulté! Ils ont dit que j'étais stupide." which means "They're bad! They insulted me! They said I'm stupid." and yknow, with that sobbing child voice.. My mom also looked at the couple badly, and let's just admit that my mom's bad look is one of the most scary things on Earth. They just shut up, and five minutes later, they were gone.
Fun fact; their door was just next to ours.
Btw how people could be so stupid...

This is what I love. Finding stories I can relate to.
    Mine:
I’ve gotten a few ‘Where are you from’s. And I so tell them I’m Ecuadorian-Greek. I know fluent English, Greek and Spanish. I was visiting some of my cousins in Argentina at the time, we had met up at a restaurant. The table next to us was some guys were talking about our looks and how cute we were, in Greek. I translated for my cousins, and they looked over and said ‘hey they’re pretty cute too.’ I tapped one of the guys and said, in Greek, ‘my cousins think you guys are cute, too.’ He turned red, and switched to English, says, ‘Can you understand me now?’ He’s got this smile on his face, like the ‘as if she’s gonna know three languages’ I smile and switch to English, too. ‘Yeah.’ I go, and we ended up merging tables, me as a translator. My cousin that spoke English ended up dating the guy I tapped. You never know. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go shopping for their wedding. Nah jk they broke up last year because he cheated 🙄. She’s over him now and I’m happy. I didn’t really like that βλάκα.

I had a similar experience with the foreigner and the 6-year old Japanese kid.
In my case, it was a Japanese toddler at a playground. I was waiting at the park for my university circle to meet up for a hanami (cherry blossom viewing), when I heard this little girl, couldn’t have been older than 4, yell to her mom that there was a foreigner on the playground. Bemused, I turned to her, and in near-fluent Japanese told her that she was right, I am most certainly a foreigner (Scandinavian).
The poor girl started bawling her eyes out and ran to her mother while screaming that the foreigner spoke Japanese... I felt so guilty for making the little girl cry, while the mom was apologizing in my general direction, white as a sheet.
There were no winners that day.

So she moved to Germany and she had to keep attending school there and so one time when she got in a fight with one of her teachers she cursed at him in her native language and the teacher just looked up at her and ask "what did you just say?" in her native language in the tipical "care to repeat that" voice.

I'm french native speaker and went in Berlin a couple years ago. I once went to a night club and came back at about 4 AM by subway, having bought a sandwich and eating it while waiting for the subway to go. These three young french girls sat just in front of me (belive me or not, they wore blue, white and red T-shirts, and in that order), and start talking about how i seem to enjoy my sandwich. The more they (drunk-)talked, saying things like "Oh, the sandwich must be soooo delicious" (one could tell they had the "Midnight hunger"), the more I was amused, and the more they interpreted that as me loving my sandwich. This got on until i finished it and told them in french that they could still buy one if they hurried up. The look on their faces was epic ^^.

I was at the Pet Shop a few months earlier, i speak fluent Cat language btw, as i was looking for a Cat to adopt, one of the cats said in fluent Cat language “look at this human, very malnourish looking, i bet his pet eats pizza while he eats Whiskas” i turned around and respond “meow moeew meoww” which means “i speak Cat language you dumbass” the cat’s face turns red and he quickly apologized. Still makes me smile every time i remember it 😆
