    It's terribly ironic that that web site recommends installing additional potentially dubious free software to get rid of the potentially dubious free software you don't want. What's so wrong with just doing it yourself in the Control Panel? Even if it leaves behind a few files and registry entries here and there, it still gets rid of 99% of the junk.

      A website recommended me to “fix” the vcruntime140_1.dll problem and it turned out to be just a way to get money out of the people who bought it. I didn’t do that because people that make programs just for the money are stupid. So I uninstalled the program and downloaded the Microsoft visual c++ program and it fixed the problem after I restarted.

    I had SO much crapware on my laptop that I guess was also malware because, along with installing a million toolbars and changing my default browser, it made it that pretty much whenever I clicked on a link in my browser it took me to some sketchy "YOUR COMPUTER HAS OVER 9000 VIRUSES" page that I could not close out of even using task manager. It also disabled file downloads over 1MB from my browser. So yea I had to wipe my HDD and it was ironically the McAffee bloatware on my PC that linked me to the website that infected the PC in the 1st place

      Avast Antivirus, at least the free one, is worse than the stuff you're trying to block with it. I thought I installed an anti-virus and anti-malware program to make sure I *DON'T* get all kinds of bullshit popups all over my screen. Instead, Avast Free puts up so many that I feel like I need to download something else to get rid of Avast so all the spam stops.
      Fuck Avast free, they completely ruined a good product and I sure as shit will not reward that behavior by buying the full version.

    • @jrdavis1992
      @jrdavis1992 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I moved from Avast to Windows Defender. (I have Windows 10 on my machine, upgraded from 7 during the free offer frame.) It's simple, straight, doesn't give you that pop-up "Virus database has been updated," and these days, they've updated it with it's own boot-time scanner, Windows Defender Offline.
      In an un-related note, Windows 7 fixed all the problems Windows Vista created, and Windows 10 took things a step further, combining the best of Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows Phone, into a single cross-platform package.

    • @mrxions

      I use Avira and it works fine.
      I dont understand why so many people dont like Vista. We had once an windows xp pc and it was unstable as hell everytime yoou put work on that pc there was a chance that it just froze and you needed to restart it. After that we got a good vista pc that wasnt unstable, not annoying and easy to use. It got good performance but after some time it started to slow down and to freeze again (after 6years usage). I wanted to use the recovery tool to reset everything and restore the default but it freeze again while restoring. After that i "upgraded" to Windows 7. It worked 1.5years. Then it just got blue screens and was unable to boot.
      The point is after "upgrading" i felt like the performance was the same or even worse. I just wanted to say for me the stable vista edition was a huge upgrade to the unstable windows xp.

      Most folk don't realize that there are as many versions of any OS as there are computer vendors who install that OS on their machines with their own (sometimes poorly thought out, undocumented, & unacknowledged) choices about deep default settings, and software components they have imposed on 'your' OS. Crap/Bloatware are only the obvious surface of how those undocumented perversions of your OS affect the performance in your unique user environment. 99.9% of all users have no way to learn of these issues, much less, control them. Going with the odds, you lucked out with Vista.

      I've run a combination of AVG Free, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Spybot: Search and Destroy for years, all free. It's a nice safety net and has helped a ton in the case of the computer reserved for the under 18's in our house in keeping it running. The only things that's slightly annoying is Spybot S&D 2 will tend to have its Immunization tool open up at seemingly random points in the week but a bit of google searching can lead you to turning that off.

    If I didn't put the application or plugin on the computer myself then it's getting uninstalled, standard operating procedure when I build systems for myself and others. Occasionally I'll add Firefox along with the trifecta of Spybot Search and Destroy, Microsoft Security Essentials, and AVG free on systems intended for younger users or just as a safety net in general but that's my own inclination.
    I hate McAfee, Norton, Ask Toolbar, and similar things because of these kinds of shenanigans, if I didn't ask for your service then I'm certainly not going to appreciate hiding it within the service I actually wanted.

      In that a Mac is just a overpriced Linux computer which Linux is just the cost of the hardware while Mac is around $1,000 to $4,000 USD depending on which one you go for of course

      Dylan McIntyre Gaming is the only reason you'd want Windows, and even then most people don't really WANT Windows, they just want something that plays their games. I don't use Windows, I was stuck with that POS for 15 years before I saw the light. I use it at work and every day I'm reminded why I spent stupid amounts of money getting Macs lol.
      I love the hardware of PC's, I just don't like Windows. There's an old saying that goes something like this: "PC guys love hardware, Mac guys love software" and in mine and most other people I know's case that's very much true. You can build a bad ass PC with a fairly meagre budget, but then you're stuck with Windows which is mediocre at best (IMO), or you can get a Mac with OS X and a much less frustrating software experience (again, IMO).

    Pirate an OS and install it rather than using the one that comes with a new computer. Buy a Windows 7 computer, reinstall bloatware free pirated W7, Use product key from original bloaty W7. Yay clean PC.

    • @tpcs8667
      @tpcs8667 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes..and enjoy the FACT that there is a REAL chance that the pirated version you get 's product key is ONLY in one of the many middle eastern countries that if UNLESS you speak their languages, good luck using it, dumbass..let alone the FACT that you can't get windows security updates.
      If you're that hellbent on not paying for an operating system and have the patience for such more advanced work arounds...just use a linux based distro and call it a day. They have BEEN free, are much MORE safer ( notice I didn't say safe or completely safe from viruses), and still are slowly but surely catching up to Windows in usability, and compatibility.

    • @therealr0bert
      @therealr0bert 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Raymond Tyson If you install the exact version of windows that came on your pc it's not really pirated and your product key will work. I had the issue before with just too much crap that came stock that I couldn't just simply uninstall. He wasn't saying use the pirated version's key, just an easy way to get a clean copy of windows, which I believe you could get through their support these days if you have the key, though I could be mistaken.

    • @Sythriox
      @Sythriox 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Raymond Tyson
      lol dude wat, as Engine said, I meant Pirate an OS because they're always clean of bloatware, then use your original key from the OS you're replacing.
      With that being said, I've been pirating Windows 7 since I the very second I was able to drop that atrocity Vista. Reformatted many times with different W7 copies, and there is never a chance to get a middle eastern product key, that's not even how they work. If you want to actually do it illegally, you install the OS and use a random product key (Like 000000.etc) then before you connect to the internet, you install a little tiny program that blocks the OS ability to check if your registry key is legit. Installing one tiny program in like 2 minutes isn't much of an "advanced work around"
      There are even some modifications or copies that don't even require you to put in a product key. Easy as just Install, run little activation block program, done.
      The bad/good cycle of MS OS releases pisses me off, and when windows 9 is released, I will most likely pirate W9 onto my Legal W8 machine, lol.
      enginesnblades
      You'd still have to pay for postage I'd imagine if they were to send you one. Still, if you got semi respectable internet speeds, you can get a clean copy in like an hour. No way faster. Recently did this for my little Acer Windows 8 laptop. Thing runs better than the day I bought it, it's great.

      you really should just get the Mircosoft .iso file and burn it instead of pirateing one as you are using a legal key anyways for windows 7 here is the link for the Mircosoft .iso file
      www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/
      all versions of windows 7 sp1 .iso files are on that site and legal to download just no key is supplied to which you will have to go out and get your own key ... from what you have said you already had a legal key so that wouldnt be a problem the .iso files are also without any bloatware at all on them so doing a clean install is possiable as much as installing it off of a DVD or a USB drive

      Raymond Tyson Linux is not safe. Period.
      There just are many different versions and too few people actually using them to be worth to write viruses for them. But for most parts, Windows has a better security.

      Linux doesn't need one!
      but for windows....free once like (I know I know) avira, AVG and I think there is another one that's pretty popular.

      Stego Saurus It changes from year to year, You will find people that have had a bad experience with one and say it sucks and others that use the same one say its the best. What I can say is stay away from AVG last time it was good was back in 2008.
