Not only are D/D/Ds used by a popular character, Reiji/Declan, but because of said character's VA being unavailable for much of the series, they were used sparingly, so the few Duels they were involved in were more impactful. Most notably, they were used to completely crush two of the most hated characters in ARC-V. The first was Barrett, who uses the reviled Beastborg Deck (which locks your opponent out of Special Summoning, using Spells/Traps, and Drawing, and any monsters already on the field cannot attack and have their attack points drained every turn), while the second was Roget, the Big Bad of the Synchro arc. His defeat was especially fun because it was an infinite loop. Thanks to the Battle Royale rules, any Duelist who enters a Duel already in progress loses 2000 LP. Roget had the area they were fighting in set up so that he could essentially revive himself upon defeat, and even with only 2000LP, he was basically able to reset his Deck completely and redo his combos. So, Reiji setup a combo with his D/D/D monsters to automatically inflict 2000LP of burn damage as soon as Roget stepped onto the field, ensuring that every time Roget revived, he'd immediately be defeated again.
I was watching a stream where a similar situation happened and the streamer literally put a rainbow colored giant text on the stream written: "no I won't do ____________ because y'all suck"
I love ddd for the historical figures and references also any deck that uses all summoning mechanics are so intriguing The deck is literally made for me

I only like DDDs because it has all the summoning types that matter. Ignores Ritual in the corner. Pretty sure it has a link now too. If it doesn’t then lame.
I have been teaching new people slowly into YGO and my "teaching deck" was D/D/D (Pure) cause it has all the summoning mechanics. Excluding Ritual...And to this day I have people STRUGGLING to learn how to use the deck. And I'm there like "Did you try reading the cards?". Turns out D/D/D and Endymion P.Magicians have a very high skill requirement... So I just have them learn Labrynth, Swordsoul or Branded instead... those take no skill and are very strong.
@@Zeditah Trap Trix would seem easy but you need to know your combo well and work around your opponent cards. You need...some? Knowledge to figure out which trap would be better and for what reason. But it's a good recommendation. At least it's an easily affordable deck and I don't have to disappoint another person like I did the last man who asked me if I can help him buy a HERO deck... that poor guy told me "how expensive can it be" then saw the total in checkout and freaked.

Another -no skill- very easy to play deck is TrapTrix, if you don't win by your 300000000000 traps set on the field, you win by rage quit
