The best series I ever saw. It was very intense. After that game, the fans went crazy. I remember everyone in LA were just bumping their horns in their cars.
great game, great video. However edited out of sequence but still great. Yes I did notice that. I think tryangles did that as a shortcut to get shots that would fit that moment in the music.
@Dipset101x which one? the one a few years ago which had like 3 overtime games, one of them going into triple overtime? cause i would definitely agree. this series was sick though, kings lakers always had good series. but most people wont remember how good the kings actually were
Did NBC pioson Kobe before Game 2 after LA kicked Sac's butt in Game 1. Since we are dealing in what if's If Kobe dosent get food poisoning he helps them make it an easier series. "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set thee free."
I admit without a doubt that the Kings were supposed to go to the finals in 2002 but how do you know the Kings would have beaten the Nets is the question
being a lakers fan for 27 years, kings/lakers rivalry was one of the best series ive ever seen. when horry made this shot i was so happy. after game 6 i was disgusted with the series. it felt wrong to win game 6 because the series shouldnt have been extended. any true lakers/basketball fan would admit this was sacramento's championship but ratings would sink if it was a kings/nets finals. i still love the lakers but after that playoffs i start to question the legibility of the league
game 7 of that series, Kings miss half their free throws, shoot a terrible 2 of 20 on 3-pointers, and Shaq hits 11 of 15 free throws. The could have easily beated the Lakers in that game, but they choked at home, the Lakers stepped up their game, and Horry came through in the clutch
@amouralizee bro, i've ben a laker fan since 1980 & ur right about game 6, but look at game 5. That was our game to win but 2 blown non-calls is why we lost(remember D-Fish played great D back then & Biddy was wide open?)Refs make what Chic calls "cosmedic" calls all the time during games.Game 6 was probably one big "cosmedic" call LOL..they had their chance in game 4 and 7. If they had shot just 48% of their FF in game 7 they would had been the champs...but they choked & thats their fault!
All the Sacramento Kings had to do is to win one of the three critical games (Games 4, 6 and 7) in the 2002 Western Conference Finals to prevent a Los Angeles Lakers three-peat and they didn't win any of them.
***** Even with all the controversies especially Game 6, the Kings still had chances to prevent a Lakers' three-peat and they failed. Failed to grab one rebound on the final play of Game 4 and also blew a 24-point lead in the same game. The Lakers were ice cool from the free throw line in Game 6 despite getting 'gift' fouls from the referees. Going 16/30 from the free throw line and 2/20 from downtown in their own home floor doesn't help the Kings either. The Kings simply choked.
awesome that you included Bill Walton's opening line about the lakers "forever hang their heads in shame!" This was a great game and a great series. BIG SHOT BOB
Okay man here is what really happened. The Kings gagged in game 4, got a good call at the end of gmae 5 that set up Bibby shot to win game 5, got hopsed in game 6 and choked in game 7. Cris Webber is a snakebit player who will never to win a College or Pro Title. If they had got hosed in Game 7 you have a beef. You have no beef when Vlade commits a dumb foul on Kobe and you blow a 9pt lead at home. Sorry dude Sac should have but it is another titlew for LA.
Waah, Waah, Waah. Boo Hoo. Boo Hoo. Boo Hoo. By your comment collector26, you just pissed off to no avail because your Crapamento Queers failed to seal the deal. Make your free throws and your treys (Peja airball when wide open) and the Queers would've played the Nets in the 2002 NBA Finals. The L.A. Lakers in 2002 = THE ACTUAL, PURE NBA CHAMPIONS.
I have been an NBA fan since 94. I believe this to be the greatest NBA playoff game I have ever watched (yes, better than game 7). This despite the fact that I was at the time rooting very hard for the Kings...I LOVE this game. Great video, great tribute, definitely worthy of the game and the game worthy of the tribute.
if you watched game 4 of dallas and sacramento in 2002 the scenario was the same. The kings had a 115-113 in OT. It was Dallas's possesion with 12 seconds left. nowiztki drove to make a shot. It was halfway in but it came out. time was running down. The ball was tipped to finley but it was too late. The kings were up 3-1 in dallas and eventually won gm 5 114-101. we have to thank robert horry so much because that would have been the same scenario in LA
I watched that game. Except for the opening shot, the Lakers trailed the ENTIRE game. They got into a hole but slowly crept closer. When Horry hit the Mother of all Buzzer Beaters, I slammed my shoes on the floor so loud that my inlaws came in to see what was the ruckus. Hollywood movies just cannot match that kind of entertainment adrenaline. It was the pinnacle and glory of the Kings-Lakers rivalry.
man kings fans ACCEPT IT! the lakers were the better team! they had more heart and determination you guys just have to accept defeat and stop saying this game and the series was "fixed" show some class and accept it, at least we lakers fans accept that boston was a better team than us in the finals last year and we don't bitch and moan that their comeback was "fixed"
i still don't believe the kings were a better team..they sure didn't show it at HOME in game 7 where everything was even..and its no ones fault the kings fouled out but themselves..maybe if vlade had body control he never would have fouled out..the simple fact is the lakers won and the kings were dismantled after that season..period
I was there at Game 1, Arco Arena fans are loud as hell, I give them props for caring about the team. It's amazing the Lakers won this, Kings had everything going for them. It just wasn't meant to be.
damn just watching this vid makes me remember how dominant both teams were. i am a lakers fan but i have to admit that sacramento truly lived up to their names as kings during this time.
I love it when Shaq is being fouled by two kings and he goes up makes the shot and the two king players are on the ground at 3:15-3:16 hahah its funny. The good days
"Or forever hang their heads in shame", huh? This would be their last chance chance to Ever have success that would outweigh them living in shame Forever? At 23 and 25 years old or whatever, and in one aspect of life? Smh
this game. thats why you have to LOVE basketball!

la lakers for ever till i die we history
That was great.
great vid

man they went to war with them
they had a huge rivalry
L.A will always love RObert HooooOOOry!
Great video!! What's the song?
OWNED
GO KINGS!

I admit without a doubt that the Kings were supposed to go to the finals in 2002 but how do you know the Kings would have beaten the Nets is the question
i remember this, it was when the kings almost beat the lakers and the refs
being a lakers fan for 27 years, kings/lakers rivalry was one of the best series ive ever seen. when horry made this shot i was so happy. after game 6 i was disgusted with the series. it felt wrong to win game 6 because the series shouldnt have been extended. any true lakers/basketball fan would admit this was sacramento's championship but ratings would sink if it was a kings/nets finals. i still love the lakers but after that playoffs i start to question the legibility of the league

If anything, Game 6 was a must win and they almost lost that. Bibby could have sent it into overtime and the Lakers Dynasty could have ended.

"Or forever hang their heads in shame" -- I love Bill Walton's hyperbole. Come back and save us from Reggie Miller, Bill!
Queens fans are still whinning about this
its not Horrys fault that Vladi tipped it to him
Okay man here is what really happened. The Kings gagged in game 4, got a good call at the end of gmae 5 that set up Bibby shot to win game 5, got hopsed in game 6 and choked in game 7. lakers rlz
it takes hard work to win with match fixing.
+Bastion Thrice And yet, the Kings choked the series away.
lol look at turgulo

Bad calls happen LA2002asterisk.
Still, one team play through it, one didn't.
The Lakers kept playing bad calls or not and won. The Kings didn't.
If you say so! haha
LA is thousand miles away from here! Lakers have fans all over the world!
Awesome job btw yesterday Queens!
See ya!
How did the Kings win that series? Had a 9 point lead in the 4th Quarter of game 7 at home. Let it go Lakers are the Champs.
@BMWM5gpower23 I remember this, it was when the kings missed all those free throws and didn't box out.
i miss those days...basketball was truly exciting and played at a high level back then...not so much now
@amouralizee actually i was happy when we won the series........i thought we deserved another ring :)
damn i remember these days lakers use to go AT WITH SACRAMENTO KINGS LIKE ALL THE TIME! THIS IS SICK!
y did they even shake each other hands at the beginning of the game? they hated each other guts
what an epic game
"Or forever hang their heads in shame", huh? This would be their last chance chance to Ever have success that would outweigh them living in shame Forever? At 23 and 25 years old or whatever, and in one aspect of life? Smh
curlygurly27: true baby girl -_^
Lakers fan ima tell u this i have a lot of memories this is in the top 10
too much fucking music - overly dramatic. sometimes it's best just to let the action speak for itself.
Thanks for posting one of the best finishes in Lakers history....
Can't fix all those choked Sac freethrows either. Fixed my ass.
