No idea if you will see this but I just found you and am so excited to binge watch all your episodes, it’s really nasty winter up here in VT right now not snowing and making a winter wonderland but raining with freezing rain. So thank you for sharing and transporting me to better weather.
Hi, I'm new to your channel and I am binge watching lol. Thank you for your honesty and what seems to be a super sweet spirit and heart. I cannot wait to be able to totally watch through your videos and hopefully learn and be inspired by your journey!
I just found your channel. I love how you take your time and explain how you use your foods that you harvest. I’m looking forward to all of the videos I haven’t seen.
Great video. It is still late winter here in northern BC. I have plants started for our garden so not much going on until the snow goes and it warms up. Thanks 🇨🇦🌷
I know this is 5 months late, but maybe you and do this next year. For convenience I chop and freeze a lot of herbs besides dehydrating them. It makes it possible to make things like fresh salad dressings and sauces, without having to buy fresh herbs. All of those herbs freeze very well. I just chop mine put them in mason jars and keep them in the freezer. I just made trambuli which is very heavy in fresh herbs.
This is really encouraging. We just hand built and are about to move on to a quarter of an acre, which we decided on because we will have it fully paid off in 3 years. Part of me has been wrestling with the fact we don’t have the acerage for ivestock and an unreal garden- but seeing your joy, your bountiful garden, chickens, and other prep-work… I think a lot of that dreaming is coming back- just on on a smaller scale ✨❤️ I’m excited about our next chapter!!
Hi! I'm so glad you were encouraged by it! There is a TON you can do with a small space. I understand wanting more land, we hope for it one day too, but don't let the lack of space discourage you from pursuing your dreams. Make your waiting room your classroom and enjoy the process! Blessings on your journey!
Hey There! Thank you so much. My Jalapenos were hit or miss in previous years but once I started using "Craigs Grande Jalapenos" from Baker Creek that seemed to do the trick! Great for poppers :)
What a beautiful harvest! Your video of canning peaches popped into my feed so I thought I’d see what else you’ve done. What a wonderful garden you have!
Your harvest is amazing. I also garden and love growing food for our family. At the moment I'm still up to my eyeballs in tomatoes and eggplant but canning up foods almost everyday. This year we grew Jerusalem Artichokes and can't wait to harvest them late fall and winter.
How exciting! I’ve never grown or eaten Jerusalem artichoke! Let me know how you like them. We just got our first frost so what was left of the garden is gone. I’m excited for and already planning next years. I’m welcoming the slower pace that fall brings though. A rest is needed after all that harvesting and preservation!
Did you use the Japanese beetle traps? The chickens will love munching on them!! I am so looking forward to spring....we are getting chickens and I am so excited!!. We have a few raised beds but we are building several more this spring. All of your flowers are just so beautiful and your tomatoes were amazing!!
I did use them! I was just in overrun with them 😭I emptied them multiple times a day to no avail... I applied beneficial nematodes and milky spore... we shall see if that helps at all! Thank you so much!!! 🤍☺️
Great video Kelsey! Regarding parsely, ever try freezing it? Place in a jar with a paper towel over the top of the herbs and seal with a lid. The paper towel helps to prevent freezer burn :) I like making tabouleh with parsely. Just saw a recipe for "green rice" that incorporates a lot of fresh herbs in a rice dish.
Kelsey - you are amazing; such hard work but you make it look and sound easy! I have some cantelope seeds saved for you & remind me to give you or matt the magazines. doing garlic in fall - need some?
Thank you! I appreciate that. You’re so kind, I do in fact need garlic! Is it yours from last year? Do you have a good source if it’s not? I’ve never grown garlic before actually.
@@seedandsparrowhomestead I bought the garlic at the psu ag progress days from a master gardner. Easy and she gave me instruction sheet too. I will share
I now use the Dewalt landscape fabric for areas I don’t want anything to grow like walkways and then I use Charles Dowdings “no dig” method and lay cardboard down first wherever I grow in ground!

Tabbouleh! Wonderful way to use lots of fresh parsley! Amazing on sandwiches in salads or just by itself. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven!
Thank you so much

I just found your channel and love your content. My jalapeños were all little bitty!

Thank you ☺️ I’m thankful for the space we’ve created. It has served us well.
Super👍!
Your chickens can eat some of your vegetables. You can also include certain herbs in their diet as well. Some herbs are microbial.
They get a smorgasbord of produce during the summer months! 😊❤️
Beautiful harvest!
Thank you! The garden is glistening with its first frost this morning so I’m dreaming of next years harvests already ☺️
Use some of your abundance of parsley in chimichurri sauce. It freezes well to pull out in the wintertime to cook with.
Beautiful harvest!👍
Ooooh I had not that of that! Thank you! That will be a great sauce to add into the rotation. 😃
Loving your videos! I too bought nadapenio seeds from baker creek, oh my gosh, they grew great and were absolutely delicious!
Yay! Thank you! Aren’t they good?! I’m so excited to share the garden this year ☺️

Katie! Thanks so much and thanks for those tips! I've never tried tabouleh! I'll have to put it on my list!
Just found you from Three Rivers …. Subscribed. 😊
Awesome! Thank you! 🤍🤍🤍
Nice info do you grow in the winter or what state are you from?
Gorgeous harvest! I really enjoyed the video.
Thank you so much Connie! I really appreciate that! :)

Is the blackout helpful? I'm not sure if I should use wood-chip or blackout sheeting like you have.
