If you haven't tried it putting Lethal Proximity and Run n' Gun on the bolt pistol turns it into a crowd control machine that hip fires like a champ. Removes some of its ability to one tap enemies but makes it feel like the Ogryn's rumbler, a great secondary weapon to cover weaknesses for your melee weapon.
@31 the combination of mutants and poxbursters is just evil. The amount of dogs overall was absurd. Nicely done, the pair of you. I’m becoming a big fan of the bolt pistol. @38 has it always been so hectic at the decoding? I’ve seen other players on Auric complain it’s now relentless. I’m not that good yet to try.
Thanks, that's a very kind comment! 🥰 Decoding isn't really hard - it just gets trickier when there's only 2 people and if your build doesn't have specific tools to help with these objectives. I would recommend that you give Auric a try if you've been playing on Damnation regularly! Sure, you'll die a lot and may be even meet some toxic players, but it's the only way you learn - from experiencing it firsthand.
They're kinda like side grades now. Bolt Pistol: - Way less cleave - More ammo efficient if you can get around the cleave - More ammo efficient as BoN killer w/ Puncture - Faster reload Revolver: - Feels slightly more responsive (or may be I'm just used to it cause I've been using it way before it became meta) - Still ammo efficient - Cleaves a lot more reliably If a Trapper's hidden in a horde, the Bolt Pistol has no answer to that, unlike the Revolver. But aside from that, just play with whichever you find fun. I only hated the Bolt Pistol because it didn't even shoot straight back up.
i noticed a lot of times you get grabbed or netted even when the UI says you dodged. could it be because the invincibility frames are only for hits and not "grab" type attacks (like nets, chaos spawn munch, dog pounce, muties...)
You can spot dodge nearly anything, even grabs with your back against a wall/corner and have no space (you can see an example at 6:50; th-cam.com/video/2WuoYspAMTI/w-d-xo.html). The problem is Darktide’s server-sided and the servers are notoriously bad. Servers often roll back commands like weapon swaps, abilities (e.g. you hear the Veteran’s shout but the ability doesn’t go on cooldown, and you still get grabbed), or gunshots (e.g. you land a killing shot on a trapper, but they still net you - if you roll back the clip, you’ll see the game refunds the bullet), and you get ghost hits every so often. Players outside major cities where Fatshark hosts their servers will have it the worst because they'll have higher pings. For the record, I do live in a major city - just not major enough for Fatshark to actually put a server here.. (Fatshark can I please host my own server?)
@xstreamdray that makes a lot of sense. Ik about the spot dodge cause thats how i was able to clutch a maelstrom with nothing but a knife in a small room with about 8 crusher and more armored stuff. Been getting ghost hits too but figured it was just my ping being bad sometimes. Its more noticable in your vids with grabs so i thought there could be a game mechanic in play but your explaination makes sense. Great gameplay as always!
@@zhangbill1194 I’ve been bouncing between slide on ctrl and slide on mouse, so far mouse seems to be better but I’m having trouble linking the dodge slide movement between hands.
@sarahcaito6937 cant really help that much cuz I bind slide to ctrl. But it may be helpful to think of sliding as "something you can only do when your character is travelling at a high velocity" Your character moves REALLY fast durning a dodge but not before or after dodging, so you have to dodge, then immediately slide while your character is still fast
I use Ctrl for sliding and Alt for dodging. By the way, if you haven’t already, I highly recommend separating the dodge and jump actions in the settings and assigning them to different keys. Once you do that, it’s just a matter of getting comfortable with your setup!
I don't have infinite ammo man! A pure gun (not staff) true duo would be fun to watch! Unless the other person that's allowed to melee is just hard carrying the whole thing 😂

The accuracy buff that comes with Run N Gun was huge for its viability. Really impactful for Ogryn's Kickback, helps with sniping specials a lot.

Lethal Proximity can supposedly turn Veteran's nades into beyond screen-wide explosions too, sounds like some good fun!

It's definitely going to feel like that until you get better at avoiding damage. Keep at it, this game's definitely unique in a good way!

Used to lose clutches because the Bolt Pistol wouldn't even shoot straight.. Now that it works properly, it can clutch multiple times successfully! 🥹
