** About this video: Visit Norfolk Southern’s Christiansburg and Whitethorne Districts of their famed New River Division. The Christiansburg District is a Norfolk & Western line while the Whitethorne District is former Virginian. Both districts were busy when Highball Productions was there. This is a rare opportunity to see both eastbounds and westbounds on the normally eastbound Whitethorne District. You’ll see coal trains, manifests and intermodals on this busy stretch of railroad.

Another great video-thanks for posting. Gotta love anything Norfolk and Western. They built their steam engines with such precision and excellence. Also the last of the die bards to run steam into the early 60’s. That coaling tower should remain as a monument. Thanks again!!!
