      Yeah maps after the realm beyond update just don't have the same charm that they used to have

      Same, I miss them too, maps were so much more atmospheric and scary and had their own artstyle

    Sad how bhvr butchered this game's aesthethic with the realm beyond update, i would literally pay 100 bucks to play with the old lighting and the old fog

    I do miss some of this. All in all i love current dbd, but the darker maps were definitely better.

    Even though, it's a relatively old video, I'm gonna comment it regardless.
    The "new, weak loops" that were introduced in 6.5.0 Mid-Chapter only tackle a Pallet behind main which is basically a Z-Wall Pallet and Altar, which swaps its' place with Fountain.
    Yes, it's a weak Pallet, but it's better than literally none that could be there.
    The reason why it feels like there's less of problematic filler is because not only of very unusual edges taking more of total tile space than before but also return of sinkholes that were missing since Withered Isle - Garden of Joy's release which took them.
    Funnily enough, the Eyrie of Crows' changes made the sinkholes disappear in Garden of Joy.
    So yeah, the issues related to fillers are still there, they weren't properly tackled. They were circumvented by map shape changes and sinkholes actually.
    Hope that is a decent explaination.

      This was a great explanation, thanks. I also find it strange how some of the fillers on Toba Landing are actually window loops and not just pallets, that way they connect to actual filler pallets and can make for some really disgusting setups

      @@sashko8448 The filler Jungle Gyms. Believe me, their window can align with anything, including Alien Gym (meh Pallet and decent window but it's unlike any other Maze Tile), Jungle Gym (with bugged Long Wall), Variant Lane (baby of Four Lane and Variant Gym) and Flip Gym, the most exciting of all.
      The Flip Gym resembles a Pallet Gym but it has 50% chance to spawn a GOD WINDOW. It has been reported Day 1 of 7.0.0 PTB and now Nostrodomo Landing inherits same issues.
      Oh yeah, it can also spawn near Shack. If you ever see these set-ups as Killer, then 3-Gen on other side of the map. You cannot chase with this set-up.

    I miss the atmosphere but not the graphics and animations. I wish we could have the same lightning and atmosphere with the actual graphics

    While this definitely takes us to a trip back to memory lane, and as reminiscing as it is, I still prefer the current visuals in the maps. Very unpopular opinion, but the old visuals is really too depressive, especially Cold Wind Farm.. I do agree with you on the Eyrie of Crows map though, they should've kept the aesthetic as it really suited the backstory of The Artist..

      Yes, cool, and now we have 0 "depressive" or spooky maps at all. None of them have at least some atmosphere (lightning+shadows) that was back then. This game is not a horror anymore. Only repairing and hooking, nice non depressive maps and the game in general)))) They did a pretty good job so far.

      @@LeviViolet Well, now that the Lights Out modifier is about to be released, the community may stand a chance to return to this state with an option.
      Nevertheless, my opinions on DBD in general is no longer significant, considering I made those comments before I decided to quit the game for good. Just ignore.

    The game has always been extremely survivor sided since the beginning. pretty sad the developers did this to make killers have a rushed frustrating gameplay. call it survive by daylight already
