I would have been for that, but the problem is Google has been pretty clear that at launch only Pixel 2 and newer Pixel phones will be supported. Down the road all devices are planned, but the setup he showed will not be supported at launch. That is the reason Google shipped a phone so the reviewers had a model that is supported.

I believe that if gaming goes all digital or even worse streaming only, any sense of preservation is lost. I love having physical media as it will last forever, so long as the disc/Cartridge remains intact. With streaming, once the company providing the service shuts the servers down, the game is gone forever, your save files are gone forever, you're money is gone forever with absolutely nothing to show for it.

I agree they need more games but disregarding a service before it has a single user means other companies are less likely to innovate at all. They're going to be other companies who see how stadia does and they will better their own systems or come up with new interesting ideas to make the gaming industry better. Plus stadia isn't meant to compete with PC gaming industry, stadium designed to compete with Xbox and PlayStation for the hearts and minds of more casual gamers. For those people being able to just play the game without needing any specific hardware could end up being a convenient way to get into gaming again.
A new gaming “console”/experience dependent on internet speeds is not going to compete well with consoles that can be used without an internet connection. Not a good start already imo.

This is the kind of Controller that I wish Nintendo made. What I mean by that is that this controller has and AUX port to be able to connect your headset to so you can communicate with people online without needing an overly complicated mess of wiring. I also love the fact that this controller also has an attachment that allows you to have the device that you are playing on right in front of you, especially when it comes to the unreliability of Nintendo's JoyCons not drifting versus Nintendo's well trusted Pro Controller. I also hope that there's a way to connect this controller to the Nintendo Switch, but I'm pretty sure it won't. A gamer can dream.
If you have a step back and think for a second, offloading resource into remote place and have it work for you the way you want is way cooler than making a giant tin can can fly.
So on launch they have no new games to move the "console", no buddy mode, no family plan thing, no mobile operation on anything outside of a Pixel. All that and you still need a dope connection. I think an exec just got his product launch bonus before year end.
Didn't he say in the video you can use any mobile device? You also don't need that great of a connection, they have a speed test to check what you can stream it at. It's not like everyone is going to be streaming at 4k 144 fps, people can stream it at 1080p or even 720p if your internet is too slow.
yep except it connects directly through internet to Google data centers so it can read your input faster, rather then going through the device you are playing on which adds just a little bit more lag

They hate it because Google has more or less already failed it. 12 games at launch, everyone who pre-ordered it wont be getting the day of release, you have to have the google Chrome cast that comes with it to play on your tv and you have to wire up the controller to a pc if you'll be playing it that way. There are other fails as well but ppl hate it for good reasons
They plan to release many more games in the coming weeks so that's not a big issue. I think internet speeds will be the only draw back for some potential users.

West 2187 they hate it for good reason.
They hate it because Google has more or less already failed it. 12 games at launch, everyone who pre-ordered it wont be getting the day of release, you have to have the google Chrome cast that comes with it to play on your tv and you have to wire up the controller to a pc if you'll be playing it that way. There are other fails as well but ppl hate it for good reasons
They plan to release many more games in the coming weeks so that's not a big issue. I think internet speeds will be the only draw back for some potential users.
