Gorgeous piece of old school American luxury. These cars were great to take road trips in when gas was $1 a gallon. They were easy to drive, super comfortable and very spacious.
That looks awesome. Those were one of the best cars ever made and when Cadillac made real Cadillacs too. Not like today. Those are really getting rare now especially the ones with the 500 in them. Those big Lincolns and Cadillacs from the 70s were the last great American cars.
D'Elegance is pronounced "dell a gawnce" as it is a French word so, the consonant runs directly into the vowel, at the beginning of the word. It is the last of the magnificent Cadillacs before they downsized. BEAUTIFUL! Absolutely beautiful.
0-60 times are in the 12 second range. As Spangelost wrote, the car was severely detuned since the gas shortage of 1974. By contrast, my 1971 Fleetwood Brougham could do 0-60 in 7 seconds flat which was considered very fast at the time. They didn't call them "hairy chested" Caddys in the early 1970s for nothing, you know. I could leave a 20 foot stretch of rubber behind with it too. The 1976 Cadillac is considered to be the best riding automobile ever built after Lincoln challenged them in 1973.
Too nice, I carpooled in one everyday going to school as a kid. Not the elite Fleetwood Braughm as shown in the vid but a 76 Cadi Sedan non the less. Interior integrity was very good on these cars.
In the mean time, I have to write that your Fleetwood Brougham is probably in the top 50 such cars that is in such excellent condition. You must be very proud of it. I know I would. I didn't mean to start a controversy but, I am a bit of a Cadillac fan as Henry Martyn Leland, the founder of Cadillac, was a cousin of mine.
Not For Sale. Good man. Keep that Cadillac. Its a Pristine survivor. My Dad had those Cadillacs for his Limousine Service in the 70's. Those Cadillacs ride like a dream. Good Luck and Enjoy it.
Absolutely beautiful Brougham!! I had a'73, Sandalwood color, every option imaginable. Car weighed 5700 lbs. Had the 472 and only a air pump for emissions. Compression was 10.1. That car was fast and powerful. Had a gauge on the dash that was supposed to be an economy minder. When you floored it, it would dip way down to the low economy position, then when you let up it would return to normal. Was simply an engine vacuum gauge. It was set for standard elevation. But when I drove it in
Many of the older Fleetwoods did come with bench seats. My friends father had a 1969 Fleetwood which he purchased new in Hunter's green with a matching green leather interior. He used to take us out in it when we were children. Beautiful car too. Actually, the color was very similar to yours. :)
the Rockies it would pass everything on the road without adjusting the carburetor! Loved that car. It had ABS brakes and they were its eventual demise as it cost too much to repair when the car had 208,000 miles on it! I had a lot of fun and enjoyment from that car!
@wurly164 True-these do attract attention. I bought her from the original owner years ago with 33,000 miles. She runs perfectly out here in high altitude but didn't run her best in CA. I think the jets in the carb were for higher altitudes.
Here's some info from the dealer book. The d'Elegance package had dual power 50/50 seats standard. The 75-76 Cadillacs all came with the 500 V-8 with exception to the Seville. The rectangular headlights first appeared mass produced in 1975 along with the 500 Engine. BUT--Eve Kenevil had a 74 Cadillac pick up that he customized with the 75 front clip ( rectangular headlamps) but it had the 472 in it. Tricky!
The "option delete" has always been available for people who special order their cars. I know someone who did it to a 1981 Cadillac Coupe DeVille and so, he explained it to me. Even though the Brougham D'Elegance came standard with the coach lamps, the owner, at the time of ordering it, could have deleted them. This is ONLY available if you "special order" your automobiles and prefer not to purchase them off the lot. Many people do, you know.
@mutasim0hourani They made DeVilles, Calais, Fleetwoods and Fleetwood 75s ( limos). The Calais was the bargain model, followed by the Devilles. The Fleetwoods were the top level sedans and were slightly longer than the two previous models. There were special trim levels you could buy with your Cadillac: d'Elegance, Talisman, and Cabriolet. Check out this link for more detailed info:
My dad had a 74 round headlights red with white vinyl top 472.. I could crawl down in the rear floor boards and go to sleep on long road trips.. back.when it was OK to not have your 5 and 3 year old kids in car seats..
I bought the same car in 1981. When I picked up my wife for our first date her mother said some one is here in a limousine. Now my Cadillac was yellow with a black leather top, opera lights, 2" white walls.
the Rockies it would pass everything else on the road without adjusting the carb. Loved that car. Had ABS brakes on it, they were its demise as they were too expensive to repair when the car had 208000 miles on it.
2018 now if you buy a Cadillac it's not much different than a nice four door sedan. My wife just bought a 2017 Honda Accord EXL. I said to her this car is almost as nice as my Cadillac. We do NOT smoke in the car and the car still smells like it's brand new.
@spangelosf43 I got mine this spring from the estate of the original owner, I took the carb off and had it rebuilt and took the tank off to clean out, but it was spotless inside. Its just a shame that they detuned this engine for emissions. When it came out in 1970, she put out 400 hp and something like 585lbs of torque, ours have 190 hp and 360 lbs of torque, but they still ride great.
To further what I wrote, there is a video here on TH-cam of a 1976 Black Fleetwood Brougham that had the top of the line Talisman option. The original purchaser who "special ordered" the car opted not to have a vinyl roof and so he did an "option delete" on it. After he sold the car, the second owner had a vinyl top added to it and now he is trying to sell it. If I run across it, I will let you know.
I have no idea. I don't drive it like that all. It's a huge engine but they were de-tuned in the 70's to about 190 HP. Not a tire burning monster but very comfortable and fast enough to keep up with everyone (while hauling is 5100+ pound body around).
Oh my god what a beautiful car! My favorite era of Cadillac's, I wonder, 472 or 500 Cu.In.? Lovevly car nonetheless. Great color and mint shape to boot. What's the deal with that Early ('69?) Fuselage Chrysler in the background? I really love those as well.
I don't know, seems like I wanna have franken-cars. I want a '74 Fleetwood Talisman with the front end of the '75 Fleetwood Talisman (Hood ornament too) and the rear end of the '73 Fleetwood (Older Cadillacs should not have horizontal tail lamps IMO)
the coolest thing caddy could do right now would be to make a RWD 225+" car again to properly distinguish itself from 'germans'...Americas Maybach bring it back w direct injected LS
I know about special order and option delete, I just don't think anyone special ordered a, with an option delete, Fleetwood with a front bench. It just doesn't make sense. Why order a high-end car with such a downgrade? It would be alot less expensive to order a deVille and get a standard bench. If you went to a Cadillac show and spoke to a Fleetwood Fanatic, I bet he'd tell you he'd never heard of or saw a front bench on a Fleetwood.
And why you leave the lights of this car classic Cadillac including headlights not only the parking lights at daytime in this video? That's because the car lights waste the battery electricity.
i have 3 green fleetwoods 2 of them are delegance in my 8 cadillacs i have..yours is very nice, mine are emerald green both have 75k miles and will be refinished in a couple years the rest of my cadillacs are the 77 thru 79
Gorgeous piece of old school American luxury. These cars were great to take road trips in when gas was $1 a gallon. They were easy to drive, super comfortable and very spacious.
that is a bold yet elegant green! love to see it!
What a beautiful classic car!! The Fleetwood Brougham is my favorite model of Cadillacs!
I AGREE 100 % WITH YOU .
@@robertcoffey1938 Me, too. They were, by far, the best-looking on top of that!
That looks awesome. Those were one of the best cars ever made and when Cadillac made real Cadillacs too. Not like today. Those are really getting rare now especially the ones with the 500 in them. Those big Lincolns and Cadillacs from the 70s were the last great American cars.
When autos were works of art, inside and out. Great date night auto!

WOW! What a BEAUTIFUL example of a 1976 Fleetwood Brougham.
WOW!

That car was the epitome of the Cadillac nameplate truly what a Cadillac was and should be:) Bring it back!

gorgeous car, treat her like gold
Beautiful car 👍👍🙏🙏
Wow❗️It's a nice car‼️✨
Not For Sale. Good man. Keep that Cadillac. Its a Pristine survivor. My Dad had those Cadillacs for his Limousine Service in the 70's. Those Cadillacs ride like a dream. Good Luck and Enjoy it.
My 2 favorite cars that my parents had, a ‘76 D’Ville & a ‘69 New Yorker!

B E A U tiful! love the colored hub caps. Had the same type on my 77 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance in Hudson Blue.

Nice ride!
I think Cadillac is most luxury car of the world.

Nice, right on the money with the year. Interesting place for it to go...
Thanks for the reply. :) Great videos.
That’s A Damn Car🤗😂😂😂Strong Built With Pride! Rather Buy That Than This Shit They Building Now!😏
My thoughts exactly! :)
My dream CAR !
OMG! This Caddy is beautiful man! LOL

Thanks for your comment and congratulations on your new Cadillac!
The "Twin comfort lounge" was an option on the 1976. You could order a bench seat; a 60/40 split seat or the twin comfort lounge seat.
Nice Hogg!
I bought the same car in 1981. When I picked up my wife for our first date her mother said some one is here in a limousine. Now my Cadillac was yellow with a black leather top, opera lights, 2" white walls.
These things are fucking LONG. 233 inches! Awesome!

The last of the REAL Cadillacs!
It was an original 69 New Yorker. It's living in Germany now.
@IluvSixtiesPontiacs Thanks, I love this car!
Nice
that theres a finee ass automibile straight outta deeetroit
beautiful
I have the same year same car same package. Gonna get the historical plates for it soon.
Back when Cadillac was a Cadillac
2018 now if you buy a Cadillac it's not much different than a nice four door sedan. My wife just bought a 2017 Honda Accord EXL. I said to her this car is almost as nice as my Cadillac. We do NOT smoke in the car and the car still smells like it's brand new.

That's what it came with back in 1976.
NICE car.
Rectangular headlights have the 500.
@spangelosf43 To bad we don't live near each other, we would draw a great crowd cruising the local roads
That's nice.
Nice car. The 77 Fleetwood seems to be shorter than the 76
You could get what was called an "option delete" so, theoretically, they were available.
@wurly164 I just saw it-beautiful!
@spangelosf43 thanks i always get confused about this.
@reverse004
No, I love this car. She'll be with me for as long as I can keep her.
Is that right? Cool. Thanks.
Very nice, did you see the video of my 76? we both have very nice cars

@spangelosf43 whoa! Spellcheck freaked out-I meant to say that's great! You should post a video of it.
All Fleetwoods had dual power seats as standard. No bench was available.
Actually, I believe it was standard with the D'Elegance option.
WHAT A REAL CAR USED TO BE! MOST OF TODAY'S 'CARS' SUCK BALLS! ALL HAIL TO THE OLD-SCHOOL!
@DaddizLidoGurl Sorry Herbie, I've been offered thousands more and I just will not sell her. She is a wonderful car. Hope you find a nice one though!
What's with the 50/50 front seat? I only a '74 with a 60/40. It makes more sense.
the coolest thing caddy could do right now would be to make a RWD 225+" car again to properly distinguish itself from 'germans'...Americas Maybach bring it back w direct injected LS
so whats the story on this one is it for sale or you just showing it off
Since when does cold make an engine loud ?
When it’s cold out, the auto choke would stay on a little longer so the engine would run at a higher RPM hence the loud sound.
Has the car been sold as of 3/3/14? What are you asking price wise?
The Cadillac is not for sale. The Chrysler in the background sold two years ago. Thanks for asking though!
Steve Pietrangelo Steve, If you're interested, I am going to be putting one up here in the next week or so.

it's not deville ??

But turn off automatically, assuming Twilight Sentinel is activated....
@MikloII that'vegrear.
how much? just give me the price..
I just tried to reply via my iPhone and it didn't work.
I love Cadillacs better than Elvis!!!
Not for sale.
SEXY
Theory isn't fact. I doubt it ever happened. It would be a downgrade.
pronounce "day lay gahnzz"
Not very
i have 3 green fleetwoods 2 of them are delegance in my 8 cadillacs i have..yours is very nice, mine are emerald green both have 75k miles and will be refinished in a couple years
