My dear Josh, your way of teaching and the passion you show when U demonstrate your notes are awesome, I do benefit a great deal from your lessons. Best best of luck with your performance today,,, we all love U brother 🤗 Sam 🎵✌🏻
To me it is just amazing that you are READY for a concert. I just admire that. From when I was on stage for the first time and until now, no matter how much and well I prepared for a concert, I haven’t experienced the feeling that I am READY for a concert, not even once. I really want feel what is that readiness feels like.
This is such a great idea. I discovered this a while back and realized that playing with your eyes closed (looking away doesn't work the same way) throws you off balance a little; getting used to this is really helpful for better playing.
I have college auditions in 3 days. For the past year I’ve been doing nothing but practicing and watching your videos. Thank you so much for your advice. I can’t afford lessons but your videos make me feel so much better. I’ve learned so much more about technique, confidence, and how to practice from here than I have from my director. Once again, thank you
Dear Josh, Thank you so much for this video - I have college auditions next week! You make the best piano vids on TH-cam and you’re one of the best teachers ever. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
today in the middle of practice, i was thinking eye closed practice would really help with my random memory lapses and finger slips and then you uploaded this :D it really worked too
Thank you so much for sharing free tips with us. These are so valuable and give me a mental boost whenever i feel i am struggling with a particular technical issue.
This is just wonderful, even made me laugh :-). Always wondered what high-caliber pianists do on the days leading up to concerts. It's nerve-wracking!!!!
hi josh, do you think that chopins waterfall etude is too big a jump from solfegietto which is my previous hardest piece? ive already gotten decently far into the song and i was wondering if its worth it
Do you have any advise for teens(Me) that started practicing seriously at an older age, practicing enough to enter conservatory but to sting extra hard knowing that after leaving conservatory their chances for being a convert pianist are Slim to non? I have a degree for average job that will get the bills paid but i hate every second of wirking in it knowing that i could been elswere if i could started younger. Thanks for every respond. (Also sorry if my english Is bad im studiyng it for 9 years)
I hope this helps each of you as you prepare for your performances/recitals/concerts. Have a great week of practicing!
This was such good timing because I’m performing at Carnegie Hall tomorrow! Thank you!
@@carlyjacobson4295 wow. Wish I could go. I'm in NJ.
Josh, can you send me a pianists Hymnal? I live in TX and not active so VHTF.
Does this also work for a piece like Ravel’s Scarbo?
I’ve really been slacking off lately. Whenever u upload, it motivates me. Thank u

Just playing two pieces for my concert, Schumann Kreisleriana and Ravel Gaspard de la nuit... Yep, not nervous at all...
How did it go?
I can feel everyone’s pre performance anxiety from here
Sorry bro
I love your playing. It is even better than ever.

@@rohansharma527 I didn't get into one of the schools I auditioned for but I did get into the other
Question unrelated to this video: Do you ever practice "classical" improvisation? (give or take baroque and romantic)
That's a really good question sir, hope Josh answered it.
Nice video as always. And good luck with your performance.

Where would you find the link to the live stream of the Chopin competition?
He posts this the day OF my concert AFTER I already played🤦🏽♀️🤷🏻♀️😂
I have an audition next week so this is great timing, haha
Please give us more tips on piano performance.
I just can’t stop myself from hitting the wrong keys although I know the piece completely. 😕

Watch his video on "what it takes to become a concert pianist". It really opened my eyes.
14 August 2022 me conccert 3 Songs. Give support and Pray For Me.
Hope you don't make a single mistake in your performances, professor!
Dont... if you don’t know it by performance day you probably shouldn’t perform 😂 a simple warm up will do.
... this is all way too helpful, it feels like it’s illegal to watch your videos
Don’t be nervous no one is watching... promise 🙃
