About the light problem... some countries has AC power at 60Hz and some use 50Hz... theres something about this on your camera menu... the AC power frequency and your camera settings must match... I hope it helps!! Great job with the slingshot by the way! :)
I had a seizure from the seizure inducing flicker... Not really, I had a seizure from the music... Not really, nice to see you work though. What you have an "up on" compared to other slingshot makers - everything you do is always 100% perfect.

With those Roma (Gypsy) Band you can use either. Head on over to the Slingshot forum and meet all the slingers you can shake a stick at.

Some very thin 1/8" amber tubing, similar to the Dankung 1632, but softer and a smoother draw.
