About Laal Singh Chaddha (Wiki):
Laal Singh Chaddha is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay written by Eric Roth and adapted by Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. It is an official remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Khan as the titular character along with Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya (in his Hindi film debut) and Mona Singh.
The adaptation of Forrest Gump, underwent a series of changes over a period of two decades, with Atul Kulkarni spending the first ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights. Aamir Khan bought the rights of the film in early 2018 with the help of Los Angeles-based producer and director Radhika Chaudhari and announced the film officially on 14 March 2019, with its title.
Laal Singh Chaddha has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations. Principal photography began in Chandigarh on 31 October 2019. However production was halted in March 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic in India, before resuming during mid-September 2020 in Delhi, due to which the film - initially scheduled for a Christmas 2020 release - was delayed. The film is scheduled for release on 11 August 2022.

Acting wise when SRK wants to act , he is No.1 by miles.
I really think SRK is the greatest actor that India has ever produced because I belong to South India and I don't know a word in hindi during my childhood days but SRK has a magic that even kids can understand his emotions without knowing the language and TBH I saw other actors in the same age but neither I could understand the Hindi nor their acting. But because of SRK I started to understand Hindi now even after becoming a grown up and an avid Bollywood film lover. I still think there is no one who can act like him. In veer-zara as an old man the way he shivered his hands and the voice he changed to a weak old man's voice is flawless. In Om Shanti Om the difference he brought to 2 characters like a humble loving sensitive Om the aspiring actor, and cool stylish easy-breezy and little impatient Om the superstar is so amazing. Even though I didn't like Devdas for one reason as he keeps saying Chandramukhi "mai yahape aata hoon ki thume bardash karsako" many-a-times than the original but his performance was spectacular. I also think he is a versatile actor he did out and out comedy in Chennai Express and villain in Baazigar and Autistic in My Name Is Khan as a serious and strict coach in Chak de India and psychologist in dear zindagi and army officer in Mai hoon na, nasa engineer in swades he is not just great only as Romantic actor I think few PPL try to take away stardom and good name from him as an incredible actor.
Mr. Perfectionist with his same expressions in 4 films... where "Boman Irani" played Principal/dean in Munna Bhai MBBS, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, Main Hoon Na, 3 Idiots

His acting is just opposite to the word "effortless". His efforts are always vividly visible.

I seem to feel that Aamir Khan as an actor he’s very underrated or unnoticed but as creative person, he’s always proven that quality is better than quantity by giving the time to work on a film long time rather than doing multiple films a year like Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgn.
Ajay devgan too does one film per year . He recently gave hits !
He was never a good actor, just good at choosing scripts.
He is a very good actor but in this film it's his third time in same type of zone.
He needs to come totally out of message driven films and do some mass blockbusters.

Aamir sir once said SRK sir plays safe he only chooses romantic roles but I think Aamir sir also chose only serious roles in which he has serious face 90% of the film like Raakh, Raja Hindustaani, 1947 Earth, sarfarosh, lagaan, Mangal Pandey, Ghajini, Talash, Dhoom 3, Dangal. I don't know why but aamir Khan sir brought unique stiffness to the charecter in dhoom 3, I can't understand y he is super serious in most of his movies but for this movie may be script demanded him, but from tap dancing to sahir's role his body was so stiff it made me uncomfortable to watch the movie, but Hrithik also played serious role he had brought lot of coolness in dhoom 2..

The problem is with the directors these days who don't know how to get the actors act right. Look at great movies like swadesh Lagaan and how Ashutosh brought the best out them. Directors are the main problem. Brahmastra could have been so good but the amateur director didn't know well.
Remember Rangeela and Sarfarosh, his best performances imo. Ever since he became this BO phenomenon his performances have become silly and repetitive. A living proof that an actor shud not be given too much control. There shud always be a good director to peg him down and control his performance. Something which no one has dared to do to Aamir post Ghajini or 3 Idiots.
Until 11 Aug I will still be hopeful for this movie being good.

Aamir tries hard but he is not a great actor. I totally agree. His performances feel very jarring instead of effortless. All his roles seem like the same Aamir trying to do a lot but the same ticks and nuances come out in every role. There are exceptions of course when he is playing it down in films like Sarfarosh amd Taare Zameen Par which show that he should play less talky and a bit reserved characters.

I really didn't like Forrest Gump.. It was a okayish film for me (Same feeling as you) .... Mainly bcz I couldn't connect with the American history... And also the story for me was a little over the top and predictable (Now I think it was supposed to be like that only) .... But i liked the aspirational nature of the movie.... So, I am looking forward for LSC which will have Indian historical context as a plus for me and good mesage

aamir is the best actor of his generation. you have to look at this from a neutral, unbiased perspective. let’s put this statement to the test.

rangeela, earth, sarfarosh, lagaan, andaz apna apna.
sharukh khan top 5 :
chak de, swades, darr, ddlg, my name is khan
salman khan top 5:
tere naam, karan arjun, hahk, b baijaan, sultan
even in the above you can see aamir khan has more range, more wider character choices, no name directors, and just a method approach to acting.
sharukh khan has the same mannerisms in at least 3 of the above movies, and can’t shed the same manners and facial expressions.
salman khan is the more gifted but doesn’t try, but what he does in tere naam, trumps sharukh khans big budget and big name devdas.
Unpopular opinion: PK was his No.1 best performance.
Character wise? Hmmm I think Bhuwan, Mahaveer Phogat, and even Sanjaylal (from JJWS) are in the conversation too…
PK was his most 'challenging role', which is something I take into account when judging a performance. And, he nailed the role, which is why I consider it as his best. The other characters you mentioned were also pretty great performances.

This guy says Forrest Gump was an Okay film. Then proceeds to say that SRK is better than Aamir. Hard to take you seriously after that buddy. Anyway, Aamir’s acting is good at best leaving few exceptions like PK and LSC where as SRK is just mediocre.
SRK mediocre? No way. He has played a vast range of characters convincingly from Darr, Chak de, Swades, Fan, Rab ne, MNIK, Dear Zindagi. Amir may play different characters but his acting is limited. That is why he was exposed in Laal Singh Chadda for playing the role the same way he played PK, Dhoom etc.

Now there is no issue regarding the American accent, the problem comes when there is no consistency. Sometimes you pronounce words in a very desi Indian style, while sometimes its American.
