Those piles were about $275,000 worth of grain, for those that aren't familiar with grain prices. For those that think that is a lot of money, the 9240 combine cost about $400,000 and depreciates about 15% a year.
No offense to any other TH-cam channel that does farming. But holy cow, the filming and editing of Welker Farms is unreal. Keep it up! Wonder what program he uses and was he just self taught?
Some days the footage comes in really nice which always helps a video become that much better but I hand it to my editors for putting it all together so well. I know I can do very similar quality of work but there just isn't enough time in my day to do this. Thankful to have a team helping make these videos reality.
Love your videos. Brings back memories of when I grew up on the farm and my Dad worked part time for our landlord. Harvest was my favorite, loved the combine. If something breaks down Nick will be crying like a baby because, Legarms is not there to fix it for him lol. It good to see grain going to the elevator and cleaning up the piles on the ground.
I am consistently blown away by the amount of equipment this farm and other like it own. The maintenance alone has to be insane. Thanks to you and all the other farmers out there that work so hard for the rest of us. I found this channel because I have a 1964 International Scout and I'm always looking for videos and info on IH so I started watching when you put out the videos about restoring the IH Truck, been hooked ever since. Keep up the good work, it's fascinating to watch, more people should have a clue about how much work goes into producing the things we so easily take for granted. Thanks again!

Nick!!! I saw leg arms in a MN video, but zack told him he would have to drive a green combine! So, like any good Case boy, he did a burn out and drove off as fast as his wheels could take him. Only heaven knows where he is now.

use a hose and spray water, that has worked for me. I also once had cat stuck in the flue of a chimney when i was a kid, well a neighbor came over who was firefighter and asked for ammonia, he poured some out and the cat within a few seconds came flying out.
I think that Legarms would have driven the front end loader over to the shop so he wouldn't have to walk back and forth so much! Love the channel guys and keep up the awesome work.

1st Yes, it's lifting about 6000 lbs, 1/2 capacity. 2nd. The loader bucket can't get the last 1" of wheat, so the vac works great. About 5-8 bus of wheat is left after 50,000 bus. 3rd Yes, all wheat before milling is cleaned by at least 3 processes, one which is washing to remove bran.
So glad to see the wheat coming off the ground . tarps are handy but i cringe at it sitting on the ground all that work and investment sitting there . Really need the markets to open up with good rates . Yes it was just a little foggy there Boss man . Love the way the puppy chills out hanging out the window . What a life huh .

Hey Nick,how many miles did you walk to get them extensions mounted on the Deere loader? I would have put the extensions in the bucket and drove the loader over to the shop! I guess we all know the value of LegArms around the farm now!!

He records it all.. Then sends it to someone or a company to edit it all together and add in the fancy stuff. (pretty sure)

Yah the idea of lots of snow and ice on those piles makes me cringe a bit. even with the tarps, it still gets in there

How much grain do you lose because of putting it on the ground and transferring it to the trucks?
Not very much, I know they mentioned in previous video. I think it was like 5-15 bushels.

The softening did help some but the biggest was the crop damage done to the Spring Wheat growing areas in ND and Canada.
Three questions.
1. Could that off-brand pay loader handle a bigger bucket?
