There’s a documentary of the same name. The real soldiers go into detail about how sadistic the staff sergeant was. And initially, when Winfield’s parents (Briggman in the movie) told the Army about what was going on, because he told them via a series of emails, the Army wasn’t quick to act on it!

Hey, just want to add that i really appreciate your Channel and Content! I am a German Veteran of the 23rd Gebirgsjägerbrigade (231st Gebirgsjägerbattalion) and had 3 tours in Afghanistan and since being a Gebirgsjäger we naturally were involved in a lot of Combat Situations.
Once i got home and left the Military adjusting was extremely difficult. I still remember how the first 1-2 Years adjusting to civilian Life i would drive with my Car to the Grocery Store in a Neighbour Town and especially if it was dark out i'd suddenly switch to Hyper-Focus so much that i was nervous as hell when driving, like if there was a Leaf in Autumn blowing infront of my Car i'd hit the Brakes. And worst of all were People who would honk because everytime a Car honked i felt like i got a Heart Attack because of it.
Now almost 10 years later i still have these Issues every now and then but not as common anymore as it used to be.
What i'm trying to say is, watching Content from other Combat Veterans from all over the World is really helpful as in to not feel as "weird" as i used to think i've been after my Service!
Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps

I also forgot to add maybe for other Combat Veterans around the World, when you're in a Supermarket and your Brain suddenly switches to Hyperfocus, don't feel too weird.
Just yesterday when shopping at my local Supermarket my Brain suddenly went into Hyperfocus and i would uncontrollably act like each Aisle i pass might have an Enemy so i'd move slowly to the Corner of an Aisle and "check" before walking into it.
Naturally you feel insanely weird and crazy doing so, but that's something that just happens for us Combat Vets i guess.
Point being: Don't feel embarassed of awkward because of it, in reality most Civilian Shoppers won't even notice it because they don't focus on other Shoppers Behaviour.
Yes it will always make you feel awkward as hell but just know you're not alone and it's not uncommon

October 28th 2010, Nalgham Afghanistan. I lost my PSG. to an IED 19 hrs after we, which "WE" were 200 Infantry guys from the 2-502 had occupied that area. Adam just stepped on the wrong spot, and then he was gone.
InfantryAfghanistan we dealt with IEDs that were weight sensitive, meaning the average Afghan weighs at the most 120lbs. Your typical light Infantry guy weighs way more than that, especially with his ruck.

But the real shock was when we got to the US part of the base we called 'HQ' where we could get damn fries and a burger! What!! That was great, except for the intense stomach ache I got because my intestines were not uses to that kind of food anymore 😫 Yeah, 'food' while being oversees man... Can't say I miss it haha. @@prointernetuser well as a private he was a fairly quick rising personality in the company. He was a pt stud, knew enough to not get pounced on, and was generally funny. You hear stories about guys being generally shitty to people they know, but there was more serious stories. I can’t confirm anything really happened so I’m not explaining this portion. We get deployed to Iraq. We’re in a Patrol Base (what would eventually be called Combat Outposts) and generally we’re making the place a second Noah’s Ark. Well he got into a fight with his Team Leader and took a hammer and killed the Team Leaders puppy. Well rather than giving him a serious offense, they gave him an Art 15 and moved him to another company. Well the 1SG of that company took weapons away from him for about 2 months and gave him flyswatters for protection. Well eventually got his weapon back, they made him a SAW Gunner, in our battalion this was a Cherry ie New guy job because of the weight. Well he killed an entire family in a van at a traffic control point one night. Well we can almost understand until the bragging started. Shooting civilians happens, NOBODY that does it feels good about it. Gibbs did so much that he tattooed skulls for the family he killed on his leg. He was showing serious signs of mental issues. He broke a new privates jaw when we got back. He was sent to a different Brigade because our Unit was changing mission types and he didn’t have the time remaining in service to complete the tour for the change. So he went away, nobody expected him to stay in. He slipped through the cracks.
All of the things that they were saying couldn’t happen, we were taught as Privates to get away with. Infantrymen when me and Gibbs came in, beat each other at the desires of their leadership. You were taken somewhere wuiet and out of view and beaten. I don’t doubt that happened. Gibbs knew, in country urinalysis rarely happens and is easy to fight in Jag because of storage conditions. The drop rifle, was told to us by 173rd when we first relieved them. Our leadership found out about the drop rifles that were NEVER used, and we couldn’t have untagged AKs in our vehicles. The hunting pics came from Iraq. The Iraqi government wanted those to prove who killed the person wasn’t Iraqi on Iraqi to prevent tribal uprisings.

I was in this unit, 5/2ID, just not in 2-1 Infantry. The thing that pisses me off is the “Kill Team” Assholes completely over shadowed that whole deployment for all of 5/2. So, the 41 KIAs from that deployment didn’t get the recognition the deserved. I mean idk what could have been done. I just wish that deployment was remembered for the guys that gave all and not for a group that murdered civilians. Because they where pissed the rest of 5/2 was getting into tic’s and they weren’t so the did what they did.

It follows a platoon of Danish soldiers in Helmand.
Some of the actors are former ISAF soldiers and the main character is played by Pilou Asbæk who's also in GoT.

Man, when I was in Iraq I was getting my food shipped to my side of the base on Speiker. We had the same dinner every fucking night. Chicken... rice or mashed potatoes, corn or green beans, and 2 types of bread. I went to the other side of base one night and it was steak and lobster night... I lost my fucking mind man. They also had a taco bar, a Mongolian BBQ-style spot. I wanted to fight everyone in that DFAC that took it for granted.

Totally get why you reject the IED in the village but the ones rigged with a current (saw blades and 2x4s) would often be disconnected from power source which is why occasionally they would sit long enough to be invisible. Those were always anti vehicle not anti personnel but since they used mattress springs it could have gone off but it’d have been on a road and it’d have been a big bang

People, I am old, female and born shortly after WWII. I missed the whole thing. We were so valiant and I am so proud of what my countrymen did and wished so much I could have been born 20 years earlier so I could have been a part of it. Watching WWII history programs like "Band of Brothers" and many others of that time period, I see the good my country did in helping rid the world of Evil, REAL EVIL! And, I have loved my country so much more in seeing what we accomplished, we freed so many and helped so many, ALL OF EUROPE.. Our boys didn't die for nothing, they died AS HEROS to save many, many good people from a group of people who decided 'IT WAS UP TO THEM WHO LIVED AND WHO DIED, WHO WAS WORTH LIVING AND WHO WASN'T. I haven't even finished this movie but I know I have seen enough. If this is true and it claims to be true, then the USA is the new Germany. And since I can't see the U.S. being taken down by men, it will probably be taken down by God. The New Madrid Fault Line for example. I come from people who live long lives, Dad was 96 and his sister is still with me at 96 today. I am so saddened by what is happening with the filth on TV, etc. that I am ready to go NOW. My country is in for a rude awakening and if I am truly lucky, I won't be around to see it.

I used to cook for my squad. Not always, but if we had the time, and we had our contact at the DFAC hooking it up with the steaks, then I'd do it. We bought a cheap BBQ from the bazaar, along with charcoal, and grill up T-bones and cook the lobster trails over hot rocks. The meat was OK, but it was miles above Friday's burnt to a crisp or Rhamadi's boiled meat. It was a huge moral booster, especially in days when we'd miss out on dinner and didn't want to wait for midnight chow.
Also, we had some IPs and IAs get in fights with our guys. We had a couple NCOs we hated, so when they took it too far, we'd just watch them beat the shit out of these sergeants for a good five minutes before stepping in. Some guys just couldn't fight, and they would get stomped if we weren't there to supervise the "training."

How about designing a pack that can be used on the rack/ frame you're selling (if you can do better than the gov. contracts). Turn the Ruck Trainer into a future investment that is not only effective, but also tangible (people like playing with kit). I see people purchasing your product, but not having much use for it after it has served its purpose.

Lobster wasn’t bad. I never ate the steak. B&R on those rare Fridays we got back in time was great. Usually by the time I got back I got pecan pie (prepackaged) and coffee from my coffee bar. You didn’t tell your friend about chili Mac dude! That’s a staple. Thst was Gen X army SOS

i'd be very curious to learn just how much of the film was altered for entertainment purposes, especially given the director and writer of the film, is the same director who made the documentary upon which this film is based. having created both, i'd be interested in comparing the 2

Better review than the last one of Operation Lioness. One thing is the acting issue another thing is the acton scenes and the tactical movements of the Actors. In Operation lioness I see a good action tv series. Not just as the same of SEAL TEAM that for me is the TOP. But Operation lioness is good on the action scens. We agree that some drama scens sucks, but any how for me is a OK tv series

Ah hell. I had completely blocked memory of Steak and Lobster day. I was Pre GWOT but they did that shit after long deployments or FTX's. Worst steak ever! and there was no way I was going to eat whatever that thing in the shell was, it looked worse than it smelled. I didn't even try lobster for decades after. As a Squad leader I would just hand out Pogey bait and smokes to boost morale.

The story is... intriguing, kinda... but the movie itself, somehow, screams gobbledygook.
What realy happend, crazy, believable, sadly, but what was shown here, not believable, which is even more crazy.
Is it possible this was made stupid on purpose, so it's more easily consumable for the typical movie-watcher?

Not even one in a million one survives the sharpnel from a defensive grenade explosion that close. And staring it point blank from 15ft when it happens!! That to me was the final nail on the coffin and most bogus event showing the movie was made by civilians with no idea of military TTPs.
