- Gentle Criminal is the newest villain of season 4 of MHA and this video explains his tragic turn from a hero into a villain, in addition to his powerful quirk! We'll also look at philosophy and why he's not too different from Deku & Koichi!
Gentle's real name is Danjuro Tobita and he uploads videos of Criminal activity to TH-cam, with the help of his sidekick La Brava.

It’s interesting to think how differently his life would’ve turned out if he had been successful in saving the guy. I wonder if that would’ve motivated him to do better in his studies and eventually become a successful hero 😥
Turtle Quirk if he’s been treated with the respect and understanding the Deku had gotten from All Might for tryna save that guy then he’d have made a wonderful hero, especially a rescue hero.
I think he’s a good villain for deku to learn from, but just want to skip to the war arc!!
ForgetFul Hero yeah his quirk is perfect for a rescue hero, moving heavy objects and saving people from falls etc

His backstory in short: a teen who wanted to be a hero but was abandoned by the system. Ironically the system that was to create heroes indirectly created a villian.

Stain: I never took a group called the "League of Villains" to be so altruistic.
All For One: It's an ironic name. You see humanity has this nasty little habit of viewing the world in extremes. Black and white, left and right. Hero, and villain. Under such circumstances, if one were to diametrically oppose themselves to the people's. Wrongfully perceived Symbol of Peace, that person is automatically labelled the Villain despite being. The only one with everyone's best interests at heart.
Stain: Didn't know so many people were interested in killing [REDACTION].
All For One: The first step in taking down a hero society is demolishing it's pillar, ergo Toshinori. So I took someone important away from him to demoralize him, to teach him how that feels.
Stain: When I was invited here, you had me convinced your objectives were for the greater good.
All For One: Stopping Toshinori is for the greater good, silly.
Stain: You mean All Might. He's an [REDACTION], I'll give you that; but at least he's honest. You on the other hand, lack the conviction to meet your ends without letting personal vendettas get in the way. Just like those fakes who have the audacity to call themselves heroes. You're no better than them. That's what makes you a villain!
Shigaraki: If I don't like something, I break it with the expectation that something better will be built in it's place. Does that really make me a bad guy?
Stain: It's makes it clueless is what it does, [REDACTION] killer!
Shigaraki: You don't know who you're dealing with, do you?
All For One: He knows exactly who he's dealing with. He just doesn't know ME.
Haze: Let him go, Haze.
Stain: Don't contact me again.
All For One: I do hope you succeed in your mission Stain. Because if you don't sort them all out, I WILL.
Shigaraki: I don't like him anymore.
Haze: You're the little fanboy who insisted on bringing him here.
All For One: And now he knows our location. So I expect you to clean this mess and to do so quietly. That won't be too difficult, right?
Shigaraki: COME ON OUT, STAIN! I WANT THE ENTIRE CITY TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CROSS THE LEAGUE OF VILLAINS! *insane crackling*
Haze: Boss isn't gonna be happy about this.
Shigaraki: Oh, what's the worst that could happen, Haze? We accidentally [REDACTION] somebody important? *more insane crackling*

Shigaraki: I'm not interested in being a hero Haze.
Haze: You could be more than a hero or a villain.
Shigaraki: And what exactly would that be.
Haze: Take it from me if someone else tells you that it's always gonna be something far less than what you're worth.
Shigaraki: Maybe you should follow your own advice misty.
Haze: hmph I guess I've seen far worse people turn their lives around.

He actually had a quirk that would have made him a good hero
Unfortunately, i think, he only get to know how to properly use his quirk as he aged
I mean, his intelligence was low and it might have played a role on why he failed over and over but seeing him fight against deku and the high rating at his fighting stats signifies that he knew now how and when to apply his quirk
If only he was this great back when he's on hero school he would have become a hero
@MinecraftPro15 due to series of unfortunate events, he got expelled at school and before he knew it, he found himself already at rock bottom. To cut the story short, he resorted into being who he currently is.
You can be a hero in your own ways but you can only be a pro hero if you got your license.
@MinecraftPro15 they mentioned in the show that unlicensed heroes (vigilantes) arent thought of well, when the students fought against stain that had to cover it up so they wouldn't be forced to punish them severely for being a hero without a license. getting a license without a school backing you is probably incredibly difficult.
@MinecraftPro15 probably has something like requires school recommendation, so that they dont give licenses to undercover villains.

Call me crazy but I want a villain in MHA that doesn’t get arrested or taken down. I want gentle to be that villain. Someone you route for against the heroes. Kinda of like garou in one punch man.

Gentle is easily one of my new favorite characters. Yeah, he screwed up and got someone hurt but it was an accident. Nobody died and it wasn't like he went into the situation with the intent to harm. He just wanted to help. It hurt to see his family throw him away like that. I cried when he finally met someone who would give him another chance for his dream and a chance for redemption.
So his quirk is basically a variation of Bungee gum, with the properties of both rubber and gum.

Meanwhile I proceed to fail a mediocre exam 9 times in a row...
It was a university course where you had to learn 400 plants and their scientific names and in the exam you have to get 35/40 right to pass. Doesn't help when certain plants can only be distinguised by one small detail. I'm certain I'll pass in the next 6 tries, it's important not to give up

You know what I'm really upset about in UA High School.. is that they don't have a dedicated "villain" teacher... someone to play the villain in all their scenarios or something.... I'd love to see gentle villain get hired and put as that role
A better school should have scouted him here's food for thought, he can use his quirk consciously on a molecular level which means anything that exist in our world can be affected by his quirk and can reduce it's lethality o.o

Its so easy To become a villain I felt his pain when he got kicked out and stuff like that . If His Quirk got Stronger He would of Put up a good fight aginst all might. Like if u Agree
Remember that he could theoretically touch himself and make himself elastic too. He would just need to get used to it. It took Luffy years to get used to his rubber, so if Gentle trained for that, he could do it too.
I legit haven’t watched a single episode of this current season because I figured why should I since I’m a manga reader but one my favorite characters *Gentle* is finally introduced so I’m definitely going to watch at least his arc.

Turtle Quirk I just don’t see the appeal of it. Like for example I haven’t watched the second half of demon slayer because I read the manga instead but I’m definitely gonna watch the train arc movie because that looks amazing
anime is just motion anime with added effects of colour, voice acting which trigger mirror neurons in the brain and awesome music. so yea that's the appeal, anime impacts more simply. this is not like a live action adaptation where shit is extremely different . it's pretty much the same a vast majority of time ,panel to panel with more added features.

his quirk is very interesting, like he can even send them back, I wish we could see him again he isn't even purely evil. I freakin cried in this arc just like jsut few sec ago like this is a villain that i seriously pity and feel for his story and his dreams its just sad and the lonliness he felt is some what relatable in some stages, (i even got a bit pissed of why deku went back to him) honestly i love how the story progress and each character and the story have progress, i like how u can see vothe the good and bad things in the society in the story (theres both bad and good things about both heros and villains)

Like all villains he represents a flaw in the way quirk regulation currently is held in their society. Quirks are extremely restricted. If a person uses their quirk they are considered criminals- villains. Most people have become accustomed to live normal lives restricting their quirks. Heroes are the most revered career because they use their quirks. People think heroes have awesome quirks but as we saw they go through tremendous amounts of training to *develop* their quirks. If quirks regulation wasn’t so strict many people would develop their quirks and use them in different careers. Many would develop other dreams besides hero and succeed without a flashy quirk. Gentle’s quirk would be great in many other things and if hero wasn’t the standard, he could have become a rescue officer. People like him could do soo much good in the world but the law shuts them down in the standard and those who do not accommodate are shoved down a hole where they don’t see another hope except revolution.
I actually like the Gentle Villain, I find him endearing.
Gentles quirk could be the best quirk in the show if he is fast enough he can take a punch and make the user and him elastic or just the user elastic which can make them hurt them selfs cause like a rubber band the punch would have recoils because it would stretch and go back and combo this with his speed and the fact that he can make himself rubber is broken

Ive got a theory! (With Manga spoilers)
What if Shinso is a one for all user?
Hear me out, the first time Deku saw the vestiges was during Deku’s fight against SHINSO.
And when was the first time Deku used black whip? During the fight with SHINSO
The creators also have an easy way to use him because he is moving in to class 1-A or 1-B.
There’s also the meta reason that Shinso is a well loved character that has gone through alot of change, and to have him turnout to be a one for all user would be such a fitting ending for him looking at where he started out, finally being recognized as a hero and being a successor just like Deku, the guy that beat him and helped his change through the series would be almost poetic, I mean, there had to be a REASON Shinso is getting transferred to the hero course, whether it was planned or decided later.
It may also give Aizawa some inspiration for his future hero “costume”

Sploxy 123 uh..OfA can only be used by 1-2 chosen people at a time and shinso is not a candidate. The reason deku manage to reach the vestiges was because mind control overrides your consciousness and quirks are an unconscious thing used consciously (think of it like ceiling lights. Electricity flows regardless of if it's on or not, but you control whether it reaches the lightbulb or not). By being mind controlled, deku gained access to his unconscious, where OfA resides. That's why everytime deku talks or see's them, he's either asleep or mind controlled by shinso

If all might punches then Gentle Villain can literally make the air elastic which would store all the energy in the punch and release it back at all might as Kinect energy. He can trap all might in an elastic air cube and let all might either tire out or the energy from all the blows and just snap back at all might. Elastic things absorb and convert energy into Kinect energy. All might will lose unless he surprises gentle Villain

I’d say his strength is in mastering the skill over being creative with it. And his weakness being that if he can’t control the rubber or when it wears off then others can use it too. And that’s how I think he’ll be defeated.
Overall, I think he’s an interesting character. Might be one of my favorites.
Also why is anime so brutal? He failed at saving someone but at least he stepped forward and tried. Sometimes in anime it’s really frustrating to see society being written like fucktards.

You have a literal bird man in class 1A a living pile of sludge was in the first episode but a man with white hair and mustache being in his 30s seems strange???
This shows why hero society in the series is awful, people in the story obsess over heroes so much that people who indirectly interfere are threatened and abandoned by that society, although their methods are wrong, stains ideology is right in that "hero" no longer has any meaning and the society as a whole is horrible

Gentle is the prime example on how this society fails so spectacularly, he has a kind heart, an amazing quirk, and has a fairly reasonable goal. however due to his poor education and his societies mishandling of him he feels forced to become a villain since he lacks any chances of his original dream. honestly if gentle had a better education and had attended a better hero school he probably wouldn’t have failed the provisional exam so many times. failing once or twice may be his fault, but failing that many times indicates his school either hasn’t adjusted their teaching system to teach him better, or this means they likely gave up after the first two to help him.
i legitimately like gentles character since he is so easily redeemable and could make an amazing hero, he just needs a chance.
Hopefully it’s not too late for him! I mean, in real life you can go back to education at any age. Maybe he can do a Hero night-course if such a thing exists lol
@@TurtleQuirk maybe as part of a villain reformation program, giving villains a chance to redeem themselves and become heroes. with labrava and some good guidence, he might become a potent hero. that could also make for an interesting arc where gentle and a bunch of ex-villains(maybe some old characters, and new characters) who do their best to help turn their lives around and use their quirks for good. there is definitely some threats you could have present(like some villains trying to use the program to get out of jail and cause carnage, to it getting wrapped up in a bigger prison break arc.

Turtle Quirk In Vigilantes you can go straight for a Hero License when you’re past school age, like a GRE. Not sure how the process works though, probably hard.
@@Motleydoll123 Funny you mention that because in an MHA RP I am in that takes place in the US particularly in New York City and that's an optional program a hero can do for any villain they encounter if both agree to it.

Prince Scille no I like gentle too! I think he is a fantastic character, even if he came off as a goofy and brief-like character, his performance and role alone just sells it for me! You’re wrong! I honestly don’t see why people be hating this character, I don’t and I doubt the other half of the community would hate the guy!

yeah itll be a less version probably. Luffy can prob make everything around him rubber and just shoot his arms from the rubber ground which is super cool
