- La Bayadere is one of the most popular ballets in the classical legacy. It is a story of love told through demure dance duets and pantomime dialogues, large-scale corps de ballet ensembles and the striking dances of the soloists. A colourful and vast canvas, woven together using highly complex choreographic language, La Bayadere is a test of professionalism, the sparkle of the ballerina and the male principal and the acting abilities of the performers.

Maria Khoreva shows an amazing progress since her debut. From a careful, graceful technician she has transformed here into an exceptionally expressive true artist.
I had commented elsewhere that she lacks variability of expression and needs time to gain depth in her roles. I had not expected such artistic progress so fast. BRAVO to the coaches and Maria Khoreva herself.
The artistic growth here is phenomenal. What a privilege to be able to witness this in real time.

I have already seen many monologues from Bayadere. But with Maria Khoreva I see sth new, sth special, and I do not know how to explain. She is an amazing actress, her interpretation of this role ist really unusual. Great personality. Such a strong and difficult role, and she is as a ballerina still so young ! But she has understood perfectly what this role means ! BRAVA !

I see this as an injustice, so I write positive comments as truthfully as I feel.

That was incredible!! Her performance blew me away. Her technique is fantastic, but I've always thought she has a lot of growth to do artistically. This made me eat my words. This was stunning in every aspect.

Смотрела разные видео с Вами, технически и эстетически понравились Вы везде, а вот артистически лично мне чего -то иногда не хватало (я думаю это просто по-первой страх ошибки,мешал полностью перевоплотиться в героиню возможно, я ошибпюсь, но мне так показалось) . Конкретно это видео смотрела не отрываясь - Мария, Вы не просто танцевали, Вы прекрасно передали эмоции героини, приковав к экрану взгляд и ни на секунду не вышли из образа - это высний пилотаж".

Love how the flowers don't start flying out of the basket at 5:02, after she violently flings the baskets of flowers. The "snake" was so secured in the basket too.

I have never understood why Nikiya gets so happy and excited about a small basket of flowers given that Solor is still going to marry Gamzatti.
In my opinion Nikia has just understood that Solor will marry Gamzatti and she is trying to escape. Servant of Gamzatti stops her and gives basket of flowers. This time Nikia seems to be happy because with this basket she dances rather for Hindu gods than for engaged couple. And also this is a way to increase emotions of the audience beacause quite happy Nikia in a moment will be bitten by a venomous snake that sleeps in this consciously prepared basket.
@@monttanaro5363 Depends on who is dancing Abderakhman! Generally I find classical princes to be a bit of bore. I like the dem-character parts more -- and the dancers who excel in them.
