I remember when he blew up and then I remember when he got arrested and sentenced. It's actually pretty incredible how much consistent support he had from fans and the rap world at large the entire time he was locked up. I feel old now.
Especially since he wasn’t even out making music for long. Doesn’t even have an album. That’s what makes it crazier

@@jeremyklein953 whole lotta gang shit basically, murder, attempted murder, like 12 GS9s got arrested when it all started and I think Bobby ended up taking a split deal although he could have gotten out earlier he split time with Rowdy Rebel so they both could take 7 and get out instead of Rowdy taking a lot longer case. Basically I don't think the feds had enough information to put anything on him but he got a conspiracy charge for being linked to a lot of shit. Someone else probably knows the story better than I do. He took 7 and didn't snitch. So people had a lot of respect that he did that instead of taking a smaller sentence and leaving all his homies behind. I mean he was REALLY popping when he got locked up so on top of that he could have gotten out earlier probably and kept going up but hopefully he can get some new music coming. Since he was released he has a lot of things he can't do like drink alcohol, go to bars, be associating with gang shit obviously. 7 years is gonna change anyone doing that time even though some have done more 7 years is a lot especially when he went in really as a kid.
Compare that to kay flock. Dude has been locked up like a year and he pretty much doesn’t exist anymore. Shits wild he blew up and crashed out before covid could even finish

when i was in jail, i fixed bicycles for pennies a day for a job. no one in there works for the money. it gets you out of your cell. instead of sitting in a cell for 23 hours a day, i got to fix bikes for 4/5 hours, and see my boys in the bike shop.
Those types of conditions in solitary are known to start causing permanent brain damage after just the first 7 days. That isn't a part of the sentence, and that certainly doesn't help rehabilitate people
Yeah, it's not just the isolation but getting thrown in their with literally nothing. Of course your minds gonna get fukked when there's no stimulus outside of itself to engage or distract it. It's honestly crazy how the practice has survived against the "cruel and unusual" standard we're supposed to have
I think Smurda is so traumatized by his prison stay that he is afraid to release new music and violate his parole

Yeah when my mom came out after 10 years she had really bad social anxiety. I think that's normal. Doesn't have anything to do with how "hard" you are.

@@Byronic19134 now youre discovering that US justice system is pay for win? He prolly spent millions of dollars on lawyers and took a plea. If he had taken it to xourt he would probably receive a similar sentence. Truth is, prosecuting team knew there is barely any chance of him reofending as a rich guy who has a rap career, especually after 7 years in prison showing him how being in the streets not worth it when you have millions of dollars stashed... they both win, Bobby gets to walk free and prosecution gets him sentenced for a significant enough time so his millionaire lawyers and star status wouldnt save him from prison overall but he still gets a chance to reenter society.
