In old days in a country like India staying in remote areas it was very hard to get a karate teacher. ..so someone taught me to tie belt like mr Taka ... and it went into " muscle memory " ... thus I still do that although I am in JKA right now but nobody had any problem with my way of wrapping a obi

with respect, naka sensei in other clips ties belt double on the back instead of single. soon wkf will define rule how not to tie the belt in the competitions. i see quite some variations how to tie belts in kata competitions in the recent years and decay already.

少林寺拳法だと殆どのひとは一本締めですよね。
やはり演武が多いのが影響してるんですかね？
大会でも道着の着方に細かいルールがありますし。

最近の、袖も着丈もスソも長過ぎの組手選手達は中先生の着こなしを見習って欲しい。
一説には黒人選手が拳サポ足サポと袖口スソ口の間から黒い肌が見えて相手に反応されるため、袖スソを長くして肌を覆うのが欧米で定着し逆輸入されたとのことだが…。
