    So about two years ago I became allergic to almost all lip balms for some odd reason. I had to say good bye to all my eos lip balms, which was my favorite brand, and now all I can use is Vaseline or Carmex (blech). This looks like a really good option and all I have to do is try to get my hands on the beeswax to get started.

      +Sweet y Salado Hi, Diana! I've never tried eos, I wonder what it was that gave you a reaction? I'm glad you aren't experiencing that anymore! Much love!!

    Hi Angela, I was just trying to make diy lipbalm by using your recipe. It works well. However, once its solid, it got melt as water when I store it in a dry place. Do you think that I should store it as always in a fridge to make it solid? or any other idea to deal with this? Thanks in advance :)

    beeswax isn't available in my country can I use vaseline instead?And if I add food coloring to my lip balms to add colour or eyeshadow for color?Please reply

    • @TheSquishyMonster
      @TheSquishyMonster  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Sabrina. I don't personally use vaseline or food colors but you certainly may. Keep in mind that the balm-like texture of this is derivative from the solidifying process of the wax. I've also used candelila wax in my vegan lip balm video. This helps it to maintain its shape and glide on when applying. Especially since you're applying this on your lips, we all inevitably end up swallowing a bit of it so keep in mind to keep you ingredients as pure and wholesome as possible but again, that's all up to you.

    While using natural Coco powder I found it had no flavor even after using honey, is there anything I can do to give it a boost of flavor or chocolate?

    • @TheSquishyMonster
      @TheSquishyMonster  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quality raw cacao or cocoa should naturally carry a chocolate flavor along with it. You could try using raw cacao butter as part of the base. I personally stay away from all the "major" grocery brands and seek out fair trade cocoa or cacao from a reputable source. You'll be able to tell from its natural scent, deeper color and milled consistency.

    • @TheSquishyMonster
      @TheSquishyMonster  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, Haylie. I would not recommend it. Since you're applying this to your person, I'd keep this diy as natural as possible. Petroleum jelly is a byproduct of oil refining and is not not a renewable process. It's pretty harsh stuff. I personally reach for un-petroleum. Additionally, you want the wax to lend structure to your product so it glides on your lips. You can also find a vegan lip balm version on my channel as well =)

      Dalene Parks beeswax keeps it solid. If you really can't get it, use cocoa butter as its decently hard and less coconut oil. It will be decently hard but beeswax is best. You can also whip it and add more coconut oil to create a lip butter

      +Zola Zuri Hi, Zola! I keep mine in my pocket and it hasn't melted on me. You can always add a bit more beeswax to it too =)

    I'm vegan and don't use beeswax. Is there something you would recommend in place of that ingredient?

    If i want it to be dark, what do i have to do?

    • @TheSquishyMonster
      @TheSquishyMonster  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Beatrix. Do you want to know how to darken lip balm in general? You can add a bit of lipstick to it but I prefer beet juice.

      The cocoa one, it's that a way of make it brown on the lips? naturally

    • @TheSquishyMonster
      @TheSquishyMonster  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't personally know of any that will make them straight up brown but you could try using a dutch process cocoa for a slightly darker color.

      +Andjela Budisa Hi, Andjela! I have a video on vegan lip balm if you don't have/like beeswax. I personally stay away from vaseline as it's an unsustainable resource and is a direct by product of oil refining. In the end however, it's all up to you and what you like =)

    is it safe to eat?…lol i know im weird it smells so good when i made it

    • @TheSquishyMonster
      @TheSquishyMonster  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since you're applying it to your person, especially the lips, you're bound to ingest some of it. Good news is that since it's without petroleum and the like, it's ok in small doses but I definitely wouldn't recommend eating it =)
