I’m learning Japanese but was curious to see the Chinese perspective of memorizing characters, turns out it’s pretty much the same except Japan still uses the traditional forms
"to lose" is a later meaning that only developed in the more recent centuries. Etymologically it meant "to transport", and this meaning is still in wide use today, in words like 运输
Thanks. This is most helpful and much appreciated. There is a lot packed into your video. 我是一个新学习者。

Dude, I love your work. It saves me so much time and makes memorizing the radical based characters soooo much easier.
That's great to hear Sean!
You are really doing great work with this channel!
The 礻radical comes from the characters 示 while the 衤comes from 衣 meaning clothing.
Please keep doing these videos, there are nothing similar on youtube :)
Excellent instruction on 'radicals.' keep it up!
You're welcome Andrew! Do check out my other videos as well.
Thank you so much!
This was really useful!!
I love these videos, but one suggestion is to put the actual name of the radical in pinyin. That would be great!
ThNk you so much for sharing these.
Love ur vids they are SOOO helpful
For bow (弓) I think a good example is 紧张, it doesn't exactly mean bow but it means tensions like the bow string :)

Very informative
It is easier to remember if you put the pinyin in each word, thank you.
