That BMW dealer truly does know what customer service is all about, if they give you a brand new, albeit uncomfortable, loaner car for as long as they did, and you didn’t even buy the i3 from them!
There's a million other TH-camrs out there Randy but there's only one like you! I enjoyed finding out about the i3 and I'm glad that your car survived and was fixed that dealership is great to turn it around that quickly.
I am a Car guy. I love my gas engines but I had a Chevy Volt I bought new. Had to trade it for a bigger family car recently....i still miss my Volt, I loved it.
Waiting for Randy to take the i3 to the muffler shop to have a set of Flowmasters installed.

Just an FYI, the i3’s do that power steering thing pretty frequently. I’ve had it happen 3 times in a year. Usually booting the car off and back on again it resolves this. I’ve heard a software update resolves this.

I have a 2014 i3 REx. I traded I. A 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with 107k on the clock. I bought the i3 with 25.5k for $14.5. I absolutely love it! Like you, very rare I. The mid Atlantic region. Glad you resisted the urge to put a Cummins logo on the BMW!
As long as Santa is here, the I3 is safe.

A couple of things about the 330Xi,
1. There is a setting to make all the doors and trunk unlock when you use the fob.
2. There is a control to adjust the bolsters. They are basically airbags that can be made tighter/weaker.
I get that this is a loaner and there isn't rally much sense in fiddling around with it for the short time you had it but I thought I'd point it out in case you get another loaner lol.

I sold the MG to a dealer in OKC, and the AMC was shipped off to another state.
I am 6ft 2, and one of my cars is a 330i E90. When I got the car the first day, getting in and out was a real mission, till I found the comfort spot.
Was hoping the little BMW was ok. I personally love it. I did subscribe to Santa's Workshop. Love his new project. Can't wait to see more from him and you and from you two together. :)

You should get your dealer license just so you can make some money on these care man that hard body would bring 4k easy if you were able to sell to the public 1,900 for the tempo prob 1250 for the colt 2500 for the tib just saying man im a big fan and know you could do it best of luck and love what your doing either way 👍❤

My guess is that the regeneration brake system on the LHS or left hand side was a bit wonky and that's why it was pulling

@@antidef Did you purposely misunderstand what @Jimmy JimJIms said in his comment? His point, in case you didn't get it, is that in a few years the cars will not be able to be fixed. An unnecessary accessory failed making the car undrivable. That is not progress or a positive thing in any way. What has the Model T have to do with that point? We can still, in 2021, repair a Model T with no problem more than 100 years later.

Garage is full of great opportunities to buy a good car or truck. Not surprised the people are fighting over the Colt. Very nice car with lots of seating and where do you find a good, low mileage, station wagon any more? Between Macco, the Auto Spa, Mike adding the Colts trim paint and you adding all the right tires and wheels I hope your underestimating their worth by a lot.

When I lived in Oklahoma, I remember seeing Brian Bozworth and other star OU players driving around in their Jackie Cooper auto loaners. That's partly why OU had great teams during the Switzer era with such perks. The Boz drove a Corvette btw.

My local BMW Service Dept. tends to replace quite a lot of items unnecessarily. Usually, it's on warranty repairs, they've replaced my instrument cluster "to clear the check engine light".
Just so you know, comprehensive coverage (fire, theft, wind) is not that expensive. It’s the collision coverage that cost the most. Not sure why insurance agents don’t tell you that.

Something to consider for parking. When entering you rear gate, what if you moved your fence on the right back 6 feet are so? This would give you a bunch of horizontal parking inside your gate. Then add a metal roof over this area for sun and hail protection for your vehicles. It's like weather insurance protection.
This would even give you a place to work outside under a cover when needed.

Sure enjoy your videos! I do have a question. In this video your talked about getting an extended warranty ($2,200), for your 2018 BMW I3. Could you tell me what that warranty covers (i.e. how long/How many miles it covers the I3, what kind of deductable you have), and who is the company that is covering your I3?
Finally, how does it work with the factory original warranty, plus the BMW Certified Used Car one year coverage? Thank you so much, I am looking to purchase either a 2018 or a 2019 I3 and I can't get any straight answers from dealership that I have checked with!?!

We had the Plymouth Colt in Australia but was sold as a Mitsubishi Nimbus.
It's not a car I care for but if you like it, you like it. I mean I'm daily-ing a 94 Chevy van because I like those, I'm comfortable in them, and I like working on them. Parts are cheap, too. I guess you can't say that about the I3, but with a warranty you don't have to work on it. I get enough crap for driving it I'm half tempted to put a mural on the side that says "free candy".

Randy i really enjoy your videos but im starting to get a little confused with what video your showing cause they are not organized from filming to release and your placing others before others but that clearly shows (example) a car you previously showed us on youtube and then week later you show different car that you started working on then in background you see that car you previously did a video on but not finished... sorry just confused on why you do this... but i still enjoy watching them

Does the I 3 supercharge like Tesla, and if not, how long does it take to charge when it has no battery time left???
Yes it does.
The chemistry in the battery is different than the chemistry in a Tesla battery.. Also, the battery in the i3 in this video is a 33kwh battery and the battery in a Tesla is anywhere from 60kwh to 100kwh.
The i3 battery can go from 0% to 80% in 20 minutes on CCS charging at a maximum rate of 50kw, after the battery reaches 90% the charging rate will drop to 10kw to 7kw max charge.
Teslas will charge at over 100kw up to 80% and the speed will slow down considerably. It will take about 30 to 40 minutes to charge a Tesla to 80% at a Super Charger.
