Thanks. I'm dealing with the concept of nationalism in decolonisation. I'm comparing French West Africa with Algeria. This video inspired me to consider the extent to which elites in West Africa were able to manage and control decolonisation, with a vested interest in maintaining a pro-French form of nationalism. Whereas in Algeria, the elites were the settlers (settler colony), and therefore, change had to come from various unified groups from 'below'. In many ways, the Algerian War could be considered as a revolution.
