    I get so happy when I see you uploaded a new video🥰 thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial again and writing all the supplies ( exact colour names etc) in the description- many only write it in screen or say it which actually makes it difficult and/ or not as calming to follow along with 💙 THANK YOU SO INCREDIBLY MUCH 💙

    I tend to be lazy when it comes to my backgrounds lol so I like to use my soft pastels, and sometimes I'll just use my pencils to make like a glow around the object I've colored and fade it out. I do have the set of 72 KingArt gel sticks so I've been thinking about trying them out for backgrounds, we'll see! Thank you for sharing this video! I really love your coloring! And I totally agree with you about the difference in paper making some colors look different, I've experienced that as well!

    • @teacupsandart
      @teacupsandart  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can totally relate! I was (and sometimes still am) lazy because I just don't color the background at all 😂 I leave it white. But when I looked at work from other colorists I always felt that the colorings I liked the most were the ones where there was a background 😄 so even though I was scared of doing backgrounds for many years, I'm trying to overcome that fear and just try 😊 I don't like working with pastels because I find it too messy 😅 and I think I need to buy some better ones because the color payoff of mine is just so light that you can barely see it. I had to look up the KingArt gel sticks, never heard of them! 😁 Thank you for leaving a comment and watching my video ❤️ much appreciated!

    Gorgeous colors and I love the idea of using watercolor in my many beautiful, unused books 😅 I get so precious about them. Silly I know!

    • @teacupsandart
      @teacupsandart  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s not silly at all! We all experience this, we never want to ruin our precious beautiful coloring books! I try to keep reminding myself that it’s okay to mess up a page because the books have so many pages in it. Also, I can re-buy a book if necessary 😅 so don’t be afraid! 🍀💕💕

    Wonderful tutorial. Can you do a tutorial of the orange tagine I really like the intensity of the color

    • @teacupsandart
      @teacupsandart  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you! 🥰 the tajine was done with tombow dualbrushmarkers, that’s why the colors are so bright 😃 not sure if you can achieve the same intensity with only colored pencils.

    Very nice...thank you! What is the name and size number of the watercolor brush you used? I don't see it in the list, I like the shape of the bristles.

      Thank you so much! ♥️ It was the last item of the "materials I use" list 😄 It's the Talens Paint Brush in size 6, not sure if you can buy it separately. I bought like the 3-pack geni.us/talenspaintbrush

    I am easily scared of backgrounds. I often leave them white. Or I use some pastel or pencil for the background. I want to be able to use inks, but I get streaks. I haven't tried paint yet. Perhaps this will spur me on. I have a Milly Marrotta page that needs a bright blue background. I have the Neocolor 2's picked out. Just too scared to try!

    • @teacupsandart
      @teacupsandart  ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally understand. I was and sometimes still am very afraid of backgrounds! It's only by doing it over and over again, that I feel more comfortable doing them. I have experienced some difficulties trying out my neocolors II. Still looking for ways to improve the way I use them, I get streaks when I do. I hope you find the courage to try out that bright blue background in your Millie Marotta book! You got this ♥️

    Hi. Great video, I especially liked the part about where to hold your pencil, towards the tip for more color vs up higher on the pencil, for less or lighter color. I've been practicing this already and I feel I'm getting the hang of it. What is still my biggest challenge is where exactly to put the shadow and should it be on the right or left. This is sooo hard for me. When you talk about the shadow on the bottom, to show the object sitting on the floor instead of just floating on the page. This makes total sense to me, but which side, left or right to show the shadow is my issue & how to continue on with the shadow around the rest of the object. Is it just your own preference, how you see an object, as to which side you decide needs the shadow or is it written in stone somewhere that I've never been? LOL
    The way you decide to add the highlights is also fascinating to me. I must get the white & yellow Posca pens, I have Gelly Roll pens instead and the appear too light. May I ask, which point size do you use in your Posca's? Thanks, I want to have the right size.
    I have to admit, I'm lazy by nature so until now, I've taken the easy way on backgrounds. I too, used to leave them white & my pages looked unfinished, then I found eye shadows & blushes used on the backgrounds made me pretty happy, then I found how to scrape my pastel chalks on my page & then blend them was a great way to do a quick background. I know, that's just crazy compared to yours & I don't have near the control you have, when doing your backgrounds. A lot more goes into your way & I am determined to learn the way you do it, even if it kills me! LOL Your coloring & techniques are definitely steps above mine and that's how I want to improve. You set a fine example for us all, thank you. I really just jumped in to this whole adult coloring hobby, so I missed a lot along the way. Hopefully, I'll get the right steps, the basics down making the whole process more satisfying. Thank you for this video and all the others, with your help & guidance, I'm determined to be a better colorist. Enjoy your weekend and the Thanksgiving holiday next week. I'll be coloring! Sorry, this turned into a book. 😕😴⏰️
    Best Wishes and time to reflect, on what you're grateful for in this busy life we live, from Dallas,Texas USA ❤
    It's 64° & cloudy here today.

    Doesn't the water warp the paper?

    • @teacupsandart
      @teacupsandart  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it only warps a little bit, but you can straighten the paper again by adding colored pencils on top or with a dry flat iron (I used a baking paper in between the page and the iron to prevent damage to the coloring)
