Lets ignore the fact that Bandai practically discontinues all the older rider merchandise when a new one comes out, what really separates this from any other generic fighting game on the PSX aside from the Kamen Rider license. Its an okay game at best, but there have been waaay better fighting games in the Kamen Rider Franchise.

Also, I think it plays rather like an early Soulcalibur game, only that you have two kicks and one punch instead of two weapon attacks and one kick.

@@TheInhumanBeatdown There's plenty that "separates this from any other generic fighting game on the PSX aside from the Kamen Rider license," such as fighting a group of grunts in between the one-on-one battles and the ability to change into a different, more powerful form for most characters. "It's an okay game at best" is a bit of an understatement, considering this game is awesome. I doubt that "there have been waaay better fighting games in the Kamen Rider Franchise," considering a lot of the games after this lack a henshin feature and don't make the story of their respective shows as involved as in this one. They really went above and beyond with this one.

Look theres nothing wrong with enjoying the game, which you clearly do if your defense is anything to go by but you also suffer the same problem almost everyone else I see does when talking about stuff they like and thats that you put it on a pedestal and praise it like its the second coming of Jesus while ignoring all its faults. Like seriously do you really think a Henshin button is necessary, especially since you can only use it in story mode and not in the actual VS mode. The mooks are just there to waste time and health as they offer little to no challenge. Also yes they went out of their way to adapt the whole series with 3 different campaigns but what little does that matter when one of them covers the double riders in all 2 battles they fought. Like why not just merge the whole thing together. Also I'm sorry but no other Rider fighting game has done better? What rock have you been living under. I'd don't care how great the gameplay is, the massive issue is aside from The Double Riders, V3, and Riderman, do you really care about the Villains? Especially the Villain of the week characters, not even the reoccurring ones. As opposed to say oh gee I dunno super climax heroes which covers all the major riders of the Heisei era and most of the Showa riders in one game while having more of a focus on the actual gameplay. Disagree with my opinion all you want, but being delusional and looking at it with nostalgia praise doesn't do you or anyone else any favors.

Remember boys this was in the PS1 and motion capture is almost non-existing and this is the 1st that gave it legitimacy as when I was a kid.

this game is the perfect kamen rider game. its cinematic, episodic presentation, human/rider form, henshin poses, amazing fights.
