This video brings back so many memories. When I was 9, me and my family visited the L.A. area, in which we went to Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Legoland. If not, the best 8 days of my life. Glad we went there.
I love Jurassic Park and it makes me sad to look at this video and compare it to how it was in 1997 when it first opened. Everything was so much scarier! Maybe one day it will get that refurbishment.
I went on this ride in 1997 and remember being in awe. Then I went on it honestly 20 years to the date and it really needs a refurbishment (aside from the smell in the indoor parts because it's Classic Universal Ride right there).
I wouldn't be surprised to see this torn down in the future and replaced by a cheap, easy-to-maintain screen ride, as many of their other attractions have been as of late. "Jurassic Park: The Motion Simulator"
This is the only recent video of the ride I could find on youtube, and let me tell you guys about its current state this year (having to have ridden it yesterday): - The first Ultrasaur was struggling lifting its neck up high - The second Ultrasaur wasn't moving at all - Neither of the Psittacosaurs weren't moving - The baby Stegosaur was missing - The two compys still aren't moving - The Parasaurolophus still doesn't move its whole body out of the water like it use to - The raptor pen wasn't active - The Dilophosaur from the boat is still missing - The car was inactive on water - The first spitting Dilophosaur was missing - The second spitting Dilophosaur wasn't moving nor spitting at all - The first raptor was still inactive - The second raptor was fully exposed, not moving at all - The T-Rex's head from the ceiling wasn't moving - The T-Rex from the drop final was out of commission So yeah, it's in a far worse shape than it was last year. Thankfully, I was told it's getting an 8-month closure, and I also heard that the animatronics are finally going to be replaced. Hopefully, either Defunctland or Yesterland Entertainment makes an entry of this ride's long history once those rumors are confirmed.
It's happening. It's getting replaced by Jurassic World: The Ride. All we know from the press statement is that new additions will be Indominus Rex and Mosasaurus.
For your information, when this attraction held its grand opening in 1996, filmmaker Steven Spielberg was on the raft of the attraction, but he requested to be left off at the finale before the 85 foot drop.
Shockal Lol. I would love to visit that park some day. And that version of Jurassic Park seems unique. I guess the only problem would be the spinning so much. You'll miss some good scenery.
They got the animatronics lively and the ride's twists and turns are very fun. You'll get good views of the dinosaurs as the currents are much more gentle during the dinosaur display parts. However, like I said, the voice acting is just awful.
C L A S S I C👏🏽👏🏽 This ride is a must when you go to Universal. I do agree tho that the ride hasn’t been getting its treatment that it needed, which is pretty sad, but what’s even sadder is that Jurassic World is going to take its place VERY soon. Now that breaks my heart.. I don’t even know if I’m going to have a chance to ride it again before it closes for good ;-;
On May 10, 2018, Universal Studios Hollywood announced that its version of the ride would be closing on September 3, 2018 for a 9 month long renovation to transform the ride into a new attraction based on the Jurassic World film franchise. This version is slated to debut in 2019 and will include all new audio, animatronics, and special effects. Damn it! I'm going in Oct 2018!
Why the fuck does it matter?? This ride has a lot of history on it if it works and they can keep the history why replace it? This was built in the 1900's , it took over 100 millions dollars and takes up 5 acres of Universal Studios. This ride took a long time. Don't worry about the dinosaurs looking old, just enjoy the hisotory and how hard they worked on it.
Papa Jake true plus it's the only original ride that's still standing, ET, back to the future, Coca Cola, all of that were gone and was replaced all by 3D simulation rides which is okay but nothing can beat Jurassic Park OG
+Brandon Hatchie Neither JP, ET, Back to the Future, nor Coca Cola were originally there when Universal Studios first opened (that would be the Studio Tram Tour, all of the other shows and attractions were added in the later years). Back to the Future was a simulation ride, and ET was replaced by an indoor Mummy coaster that still uses animatronics. And the Coca Cola area was just an inferior Nickelodeon Blast Zone/Curious George Splash Zone even back then.
Just got back from Islands of Adventure 2 days ago and the river adventure in Orlando is pretty awesome. It has its own unique parts and details but overall I like Hollywood's the best. I was lucky enough to ride it from 96-98 then again in it's crappier years from 2013 to 2016. Looking forward to Jurassic World makeover and hopefully some Mosasaurus action. I'll miss the old ride since i was only 7 when it opened and I have so many good childhood memories with it but out with the old and in with the new.
first time i rode this in 1996 it scared the crap out of me. i didnt know about the drop and at the time i was terrified of roller coasters lol. to be honest im surprised this ride hasnt been updated. it needs it pretty bad. it hasn't changed at all since the day it was erected.
The Animatronics responded faster in 2004 when I took this ride, also the T-Rex was still just as terrfying and the Drop afterwards feels like you're going to smash face first into the falls.
And the car I swear check the same ride at universal studios Hollywood but like in 1997 the car actually dropped all the way down and splashed the riders
i think it would have been better to start from jurrasic park then see a park car saying keep quiet we do not want to disturb there feeding time then seeing more dinosaurs will then enter the radiated zone where will hear the hunter saying shoot her and animatronic Hunter and the person being eaten is seen with another animatronic person tazoring the raptor then a broken boat with blood and ripped seats has a raptor then we are inside a building its dark seeing the T rex that escape eating the guy in the bathroom then coming towards the car the boat changes dieections and goes down a drop where the car would be seen ontop falling on us then the forest leaving the building you'll see the guy who hijacked the park inside a cat screaming the car shakes and blood squirts through the window s barbasol shave cream can pops and falls out floating then the forest where the hunter says clever girl and gets eaten then before going up you,ll see the girl saying hey you okay his arm pops out then going up youll see raptors you go up the escape elevator then bad new we cant go up because a raptor is breaking through the cords the wires are down entering the jurrasic park discovery center you,ll enter the kitchen where the raptors are tapping the two kids and professors saying stay quiet alert alert the t rex enters the exit the escape drop opens then we go down the end in my world this is how the ride goes its a raft boat just like this much longer like it
I like this ride so much My Big sister my big brother aslo My mom She was so scared of the end of the big t-rex LOL I 10000% Love THIS RIDE FREAKING GOD UNIVERCE STUDIOS :3 I HATE THE ENDING THO I LOVE TO SEE THE DINASOUARS
This ride was so pretty at the beginning but at the end I was like this how it’s going to end I went to universal in 2015 this was the only one I would ride I thought the other ones would be too scary
This video brings back so many memories. When I was 9, me and my family visited the L.A. area, in which we went to Universal Studios, Disneyland, and Legoland. If not, the best 8 days of my life. Glad we went there.

Kayla Grimm I know the Jurassic Park ride in Orlando, Florida was closed for refurbishment when I went in February of this year
They are now building a Jurassic world ride...I will miss the original
I think I heard that they are refurbishing it and they scheduled to open in 2019.
Yeah it’s about to get refurbished into a pile of dust Sept 3rd. Out with the old, in with the new.
Hate to correct ya but it opened in 1996 and I agree time really took its toll on the ride
I went on this ride in 1997 and remember being in awe. Then I went on it honestly 20 years to the date and it really needs a refurbishment (aside from the smell in the indoor parts because it's Classic Universal Ride right there).
This ride wasn't opened until 1999.
@@varundutt7015
1996.
@@varundutt7015 that’s Orlando
The drop is steeper than it looks and the animatronics need to be updated.
The animations are still broken because the company that built them and a lot of the ride closed about 2 to 4 years ago
Alex Rodriguez universal doesn't care about their old attractions.
I wouldn't be surprised to see this torn down in the future and replaced by a cheap, easy-to-maintain screen ride, as many of their other attractions have been as of late. "Jurassic Park: The Motion Simulator"
Alex Rodriguez I went in this ride and it does need to be upgraded
this video is very good
3:07 if you look in the water by the boat there is a hat with Mickey Mouse ears on it... that's some shade
Matthew Speciale it's been there since it opened
Matthew Speciale LOL I SAW THEM
Juliana Krostag it suppose to make it realistic, or possibly a Disney vs. Universal thing...
+Bradly105 Productions It is a Disney vs. Universal thing lmao
Brandon Hatchie no it hasn’t. It appeared there around 2014
This is the only recent video of the ride I could find on youtube, and let me tell you guys about its current state this year (having to have ridden it yesterday):
- The first Ultrasaur was struggling lifting its neck up high
- The second Ultrasaur wasn't moving at all
- Neither of the Psittacosaurs weren't moving
- The baby Stegosaur was missing
- The two compys still aren't moving
- The Parasaurolophus still doesn't move its whole body out of the water like it use to
- The raptor pen wasn't active
- The Dilophosaur from the boat is still missing
- The car was inactive on water
- The first spitting Dilophosaur was missing
- The second spitting Dilophosaur wasn't moving nor spitting at all
- The first raptor was still inactive
- The second raptor was fully exposed, not moving at all
- The T-Rex's head from the ceiling wasn't moving
- The T-Rex from the drop final was out of commission
So yeah, it's in a far worse shape than it was last year. Thankfully, I was told it's getting an 8-month closure, and I also heard that the animatronics are finally going to be replaced. Hopefully, either Defunctland or Yesterland Entertainment makes an entry of this ride's long history once those rumors are confirmed.
Yes they are going to change it. It will be Jurassic World instead.
Rumors denied. They are closing this ride permanently Sept 3rd. Sorry..
Universal, please use the money from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to give this ride a much needed refurb.
BriefCasey795 that ride looks horrible
yeah
Your wish is gonna come true 2019.
Jurassic World Ride is going to replace this ride. Revamping and improving almost everything it seems.
It's happening. It's getting replaced by Jurassic World: The Ride. All we know from the press statement is that new additions will be Indominus Rex and Mosasaurus.
Thank the lord baby jesus that's happening.
I was a kid back in 1996 when this ride first opened and it was absolutely stunning, my favourite ride at universal studios !!!!
Stop making godamn minions rides and update the damn animatronics and make the ride darker.
So you think universal saw his comment, changed it just for him.have a little common sense before you comment
Pokemaster 1 you too :D happy!
jasodoa JJO wow weak comeback dude if your going to try to insult someone do it right
jasodoa JJO you have bad jokes
For your information, when this attraction held its grand opening in 1996, filmmaker Steven Spielberg was on the raft of the attraction, but he requested to be left off at the finale before the 85 foot drop.
It's 84 feet.
@@nickystar600video3 sorry, must’ve miscalculated the drop.
Still runs on windows 98... makes sense
PUG best comment in this comment section.. xD
Rides seem less scarier on video then they when you actually ride them
spikey red Trust me this ride isn’t scary.
Try The Mummy (it’s still cheesy but much scarier).
Jane Hopper yeah I went on it and my friends lied to me saying it was a slow ride.
Jane Hopper yeah turned out it wasn’t
spikey red since they haven’t been updating it LIKE THEY SAID THEY WOULD. But no, it’s in a condition that can never be fixed.
The giant mechanical harness lowering the T Rex is kind of distracting 😆 back then it used to be dark so u didnt see that stuff
yep, now seeing that just ruines the whole experience.
This is still better than the jurassic world upgrade.
Anybody else ever dreamed of going to Hadrosaur Cove?
You literally enter Hadrosaur Cove in the Singapore version
BUT I don't recommend the Singapore version due to the terrible voice acting
Shockal Lol. I would love to visit that park some day. And that version of Jurassic Park seems unique. I guess the only problem would be the spinning so much. You'll miss some good scenery.
They got the animatronics lively and the ride's twists and turns are very fun. You'll get good views of the dinosaurs as the currents are much more gentle during the dinosaur display parts. However, like I said, the voice acting is just awful.
Lol. I hope they do a complete rehab as Jurassic World. That would be great!
THIS RIDE IS A LOT OF FUN!

The new ride is the same actual ride, but with different scenery.
Those animatronics are going to go extinct soon, they're in desperate need of replacement. The dinosaurs look like they all have arthritis.
TheIdiot 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dude you just predicted the future.
Ahhh! Such a marvelous jurassic paradise!
I can see all the dinosaurs saying “Please just end me!!” They are in desperate need of upgrades
jurrasic park never ceases to amaze me it all ways leaves me in awe
For anyone wondering why this ride was once considered amazing, watch videos of it from 1997.
What happened, I mean, in older videos this ride looks "scary" and exciting! now looks dull, slow and boring....they should update it ASAP!
The ride is still broken because the company that built it lot of the ride closed about 2 to 4 years ago
its also been around for 21 years
20 years of animatronics working 365 days a year multiple times each day, they're worn down and universal wont refurbish them correctly
It's happening. Ride is getting a huge makeover and will feature Mosasaurus and Indominus Rex.
You better be back ASAP
4:53 Jurassic Park Man: IF YOU CAN HEAR MY VOICE GET OUT OF THERE! IT'S IN THE BUILDING! IT'S IN THE BUILDING!

WIWI love the ENCANCED COLOR in the vid,it makes it much even better,BEAUTIFUL!
at least they finally got the car falling again
Ethan Walter no they didn't
Well they had at least when this video was filmed!
Nope. It confused everyone on the ride when I was there. Not to mention it was literally a four hour line. Fuck Universal.
It wasn't falling in my most recent trip to the ride (it just stood there on the water).
It stayed at the top when I went in December 2016 :/
Jesus it doesn't even look this good in real life lol
They video is way over-saturated
Because its made
Ulysses Macias
this nigga actually expected real dinosaurs to be in the ride lol
The video quality is insane!
JURASSIC PARK!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t believe I’m going to miss coming to this ride by three days!! They’re closing before I go 😭😭😭
Same
And we're still waiting on the huge refurbishment this ride desperately needs...
The ride is still broken because the company that built a lot of the ride closed about 2 to 4 years ago

That baby stegosaurus is no longer up there. I was at the anniversary event and it’s not there anymore when I rode it
Once those doors open and the narrator say: "welcome to Jurassic Park", YOU KNOW WHATS UP
this ride cam be super scary if you go on with someone way bigger than u...the lap bar didnt even touch me and i thought i was gonna fly off
Mr. Potato lmao same here. My grandma just told me to hang on if I didn't want to fall off
Mr. Potato same here man
WooW! Yo fui hace 20 años, y aún sigue la atracción :)
I tried this 5 times. It's the best ride in the park.
this was theeeee most amazing thing ive ever seen lol
I really hope go universal studio hollywood as soon as possible🙏🏻
When going up for the big drop.... is there a small drop?? I don't remember seeing one before but on the video I saw it
I’m going universal studios tommorow and I’m super excited 😊
Is the drop the same as the Orlando version? Didn’t seem to splash as much and stopped quicker. But not sure.
Omg I sooo need to go on that ride, it's awesome and sooo much detail have been put into it 😊😊
I wish Orlando had this kind of narrating voice. This one sounds much better. Especially the music in the Environmental Systems Building.
What happened to the mother stegosaurus on the right at 2:23?
man for a ride that has been around for many years, they really need to give it a makeover and i dont mean the Dinosaur animatronics

PhenomProductions23 That’s because it was kept in poor condition for the last 10 years..
Omg, take me there 😍😍
Awesome 👏👏👏
Do they do a ride pic at the end reacting to the t-Rex?
Can’t wait 😊 to go back again and again
I went in this ride a few hours ago and loved it
Me encanta este video
I love this ride I wish I could go on it again but I don't live in Hollywood :c
I love this ride ... I went to universal studios often when I lived in Los Angeles n this was my first stop
What camera did u use it’s has good graphics
Which camera you used?
That looks like the worlds most Dino coolest ride ever. Get it Dino cool XD.but still it’s so COOL
This is the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios Hollywood.
If this ride is replaced by the latest Jurassic World movie, based on the trailer it will DEFINITELY be a 3D ride.
It's really amazing
Amazing!!
The first half was so beautiful
That ride is so much fun
Che figata😍
it was beautyfull
Cool ride the end 🔚😱💀👻scary
this was hella scary bih 😭‼️
Do they have anything like this at Universal Orlando
I was here few years ago. It was awesome ride
Donde es ese parque de atracciones????

It kind of ruins the illusion when you see the exit signs on the ride.
I just went to universal two days ago and the stegosaurus in 2:10 is gone 😕
Dahlia M I went near Christmas and same.
Rip Disney MickeyMouse Hat, And When I Was On This Ride Not To Long Ago The Car That Fell It Doesn't Do That Anymore
Is this ride different from universal studios Orlando
Andrea Plascencia not really just the dinosaur at the end and it not having a tourer not crash into the water, not much really..
This ride was so pretty at the beginning but at the end I was like this how it’s going to end I went to universal in 2015 this was the only one I would ride I thought the other ones would be too scary
Just so everyone is aware, they recently announced that they're going to dismantle the ride and create a brand new, Jurassic World attraction.
Wow amazing
