Qualcomm's On Device AI Strategy

During their latest Q3 Earnings Qualcomm gave an update on their On Device AI strategy. The offering will see Snapdragon chips come with in-built AI processing capabilities. This will allow them to run models with tens of billions of parameters, like Meta platform's lama 2 model.
This is a growth opportunity for Qualcomm since it has seen a sharp decline in mobile phone sales. This is the Company's "AI moment" and it's throwing it's hat in the AI wars to compete with other semi-conductor companies.
This same strategy was announced by Intel with it's AI PC concept. As AI is becoming common place, many hardware designers see integrating AI with bare metal as a survival strategy.
