Awesome demo! I have one and seen mixed reviews and respect everyone’s opinions on it. I personally love mine. Comparing it to a Mesa rectifier is just not going to sound the same at all just because it’s missing the power amp section of a recto. To those watching and wanting to give it a shot, I recommend running through a couple power amps and cabs/impulses. Trust me you will get it sounding nice in the context of a mix. I love reamping with it and blending it with other amps. It definitely adds to the tone. It is also a rare piece to get rid of so I learned to love it 😂 I hope this helps and encourages people to experiment with this or any amp they aren’t feeling in general. Judge in the context of a mix with different power amps and cabs 🤘🏼

Grat video. I still have that unit. Never liked so much as rec preamp to be honest. Too cute to sell it.

    Expensive SHIT ☝️

Definitely not cheap and it’s not a good device to use it with an IR but it sounds just like a multiwatt with the proper power amp so it can be a good alternative to purchase another head amp if you already have one with a good power amp section.

@@WrathVaultlike UL or power amp from vht/fryette?

You realise the poweramp only gives a little more saturation? You can basically put a clipper after it and have the same sound. If you didn't use such a dull cab ir you may have a better sound for your "review"

Well I connected it to a Roadking II to demonstrate the other side of the device. It will be available this Sunday.
However I could get a nice sound with post-process, and I could sugarcoat it as “Small touches here and there” but I don’t want to soften the edges to seem pretty. It is what it is and the IR is Mesa Recto 4x12 OwnHammer Heavy Hitters II. I also could use some mix-ready IR’s like the Jens Bogren’s. But that would absolutely misdirect some of the people.
Also, what about the people who want to use it with an IR pedal instead of a DAW? You can always polish the sound with additional touches, but you can’t get a “plug and play” quality from lots of devices. So, that’s what we do in this channel, hope you enjoy!

@@WrathVault I meant live yes, not in the box! Just maybe try a clipping circuit/ transformer saturation with eq options after it if you are interested

@@WrathVaultincorrect. Tube power amp to the cab creates and impedance curve which is the source of the thump that is missing with a power amp. You won’t get that sound with just an IR unless the IR was shot with a tube power amp which almost all are done with solid state amps since most amp sims already simulate the curve.
