hi "yc5nbx" thanks a lot for this totarial video. but i create this majol for icom ic- f3s. but when i start reading from radio, it show me an error said "setting rs232" and "power on radio" and ... please help me. i tested it with FTDI and prolific pl2303hx but dont work. please answer me to my gmail or in here. thanks again.
Sorry for the late replay. The steps are as follows: 1. Make sure the USB to TTL module can function properly by Loopback test with the Terminal software that you have, such as Hyperterminal, Putty or others. If it doesn't work, check the driver and make sure it's correct. 2. Make sure the Port No in the Device Manager is in COM1, if not then change it (Properties-> PortSetting-> Advanced-> Com port Number .... select COM1-> OK ) 3. The programming cable used for ICOM IC-F3S radio is the OPC-478 model and you can make it yourself (DIY) as in the my video above. 3. On the SETUP menu-> RS232C select Port # 1 4. Try again to Clone -> Read 5. If it still doesn't work, then it looks like you should try to replace it with another computer, such as a desktop computer that has the Real Port RS232 and use Windows XP.
Waduuh.. belum punya Radio.nya.. Mahal sih.. Bikin aja sendiri.. Pin 1 = RXD Pin 2 = GND Pin 7 = TXD Pin 8 = VCC tdk harus dipakai. jika Anda menggunakan MAX232..maka pin ini bisa dipakai sbg sumber tegangan yg dihubungkan ke pin (Vin) IC Regulator 78L05.

Ya kabel hanya pakai 2 saja GND dan DATA.
Pada Video diatas kebetulan yg dipakai Kabel Putih = DATA dan Shielded = GND.

@@yc5nbx he he he nih juga saya dapet dikasih temen , cuma bingung itu di frekwensi berapa , dan mic nya juga gak ada, klo pake 2303 bisa gak ya
harusnya bisa pakai 2303.. jadi tanpa Pin-8.
RXD, TXD dan GND.
Perlu dicoba dulu.
