    Information about the video
I have made this informational video on
The Greek War of Independence, also known as the Greek Revolution or the Greek Revolution of 1821, was a successful war of independence by Greek revolutionaries against the Ottoman Empire between 1821 and 1829. In 1826, the Greeks were assisted by the British Empire, Kingdom of France, and the Russian Empire, while the Ottomans were aided by their vassals, especially by the Eyalet of Egypt. The war led to the formation of modern Greece, which would be expanded to its modern size in later years. The revolution is celebrated by Greeks around the world as independence day on 25 March.
The Battle of Drăgășani (or Dragashani) was fought on 19 June 1821 in Drăgășani, Wallachia, between the Ottoman forces of Sultan Mahmud II and the Greek Filiki Etaireia insurgents as a part of the Greek War of Independence.
The Liberation of Kalamata took place on 23 March (O.S.) 1821 when Greek irregular revolutionary forces took control of the city after the surrender of the Ottoman garrison, without fighting. It was one of the first events of the Greek War of Independence. Kalamata became the first major town to be liberated.

      1. UK and France Helped the Ottoman Empire in the Crimean War but Later Took Egypt
In the Crimean War (1853-1856), the UK and France supported the Ottoman Empire against Russia to prevent Russian expansion into the Black Sea and Eastern Europe.
However, by 1882, Britain occupied Egypt, which was technically an Ottoman territory. This happened because the UK wanted to control the Suez Canal, a crucial trade route to India. France also had economic interests in Egypt but lost influence after the British occupation.
This shows that alliances were often temporary and based on immediate strategic interests rather than long-term loyalty.
      2. Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire Fought Wars but Later Became Allies in WW1
Austria and the Ottoman Empire were historic rivals, especially during the 16th-18th centuries, when they fought for dominance in the Balkans. Austria mostly won these conflicts and took lands like Hungary and parts of Serbia from the Ottomans.
However, by World War I (1914-1918), both Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire had common enemies: Russia, Serbia, and the UK.
As both were weakening empires, they allied under the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire) to counterbalance their enemies.
      3. The Balkans Defeated the Ottoman Empire in the First Balkan War but Fought Together Against Bulgaria in the Second Balkan War
In the First Balkan War (1912-1913), Serbia, Greece, Bulgaria, and Montenegro united to defeat the Ottoman Empire and expel it from almost all of its European territories.
However, after the victory, Bulgaria wanted more land, especially in Macedonia, which led to conflicts with Serbia and Greece.
In the Second Balkan War (1913), Serbia, Greece, Montenegro, and even the Ottoman Empire joined forces against Bulgaria. The Ottomans saw this as an opportunity to regain some lost territory (like Edirne).
This shows that in geopolitics, enemies can become temporary allies if their interests align.
      4. Germany and Italy Were Allies in the Triple Alliance but Italy Sided with the UK and France in WW1
The Triple Alliance (1882) included Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. However, Italy had territorial disputes with Austria over lands like South Tyrol and Dalmatian Coast.
When World War I started in 1914, Italy initially stayed neutral, arguing that the alliance was defensive, and Austria-Hungary was the aggressor.
In 1915, Italy joined the Allies (UK, France, and Russia) after signing the Treaty of London, where the Allies promised Italy Austrian territories (which they later got after the war).
I will explain all these topics in my upcoming videos.

@@LegendsLandmarks please tell me in this comment about otto von Bismarck diplomacy to unite germany and how he avoided wars with france uk Austria russia Ottoman Empire and Italy
Because after Bismarck germany was useless under Wilhelm 2

    • @LegendsLandmarks
      @LegendsLandmarks  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Otto von Bismarck was a master strategist who used diplomacy and selective wars to unify Germany while avoiding unnecessary conflicts with major European powers. His approach, known as Realpolitik, focused on pragmatism rather than ideology.
      1. Austria - Bismarck first allied with Austria to defeat Denmark in 1864 but later turned against Austria in the Austro-Prussian War (1866). He ensured the war was short and avoided humiliating Austria, allowing it to remain a strong power and a future ally rather than an enemy.
      2. France - Bismarck manipulated France into declaring war on Prussia in 1870 (Franco-Prussian War) through the Ems Dispatch. This allowed him to rally the German states behind Prussia. After victory, he took Alsace-Lorraine but avoided completely crushing France to maintain balance in Europe.
      3. United Kingdom - Britain remained neutral during Bismarck’s wars because he kept German expansion focused on Europe and did not challenge British naval supremacy or colonial interests.
      4. Russia - Bismarck maintained good relations with Russia through the Three Emperors' League (Germany, Austria, Russia), ensuring stability in Eastern Europe. He also signed the Reinsurance Treaty (1887) to prevent a Franco-Russian alliance.
      5. Ottoman Empire - He avoided direct involvement in the declining Ottoman territories, unlike Austria and Russia, to prevent unnecessary conflicts.
      6. Italy - Bismarck supported Italian unification, which ensured Italy would be a natural ally against Austria and France.
After Bismarck’s dismissal in 1890, Kaiser Wilhelm II abandoned his careful diplomacy. He let the Reinsurance Treaty with Russia lapse, pushing Russia into an alliance with France. His aggressive naval buildup antagonized Britain, and Germany’s foreign policy became reckless, ultimately leading to World War I. Under Wilhelm II, Germany lost the diplomatic balance Bismarck had carefully built.
