My head canon: K.K. Slider's mom always made cupcakes for him on his birthday each year as a child and even to this day, however, he always had leftovers to eat later, but he always forgot to eat the leftover cupcakes. Recently as of making this song his mom died, and now all he has left of her is her stale cupcakes, and some other things, but he keeps the leftover cupcakes up in his room as a rememberance of his mother, and now he knows that he can't eat those cupcakes due to them being stale and he knows that nobody else can make cupcakes for him on his birthday, so even though he can get some from stores since nobody he knows can bake cupcakes, it will always upset him on his birthday because he knows that there is nobody to make cupcakes personally, for him. Who cares about all of your theories of people forgot his birthday, this should be the real story behind this song. And if I ever make remasters of all of these songs with lyrics, trust me, the lyrics for this song will be based on my head canon.
