Hi, I need a 350mm rack with a 20mm diameter pinion. The speed and rpm does not matter. What formulas do i need?
350/(20xpi)= 5.5 revolution you can get
Great vid! 1 rev is equal to 2pi.
"Pitch circle dia=rack length/pi" is a standard formula??
No you need 2 revolution or more you can use double pitch size rack or larger

@@CALearnings My project is speed breaker power generation using rack pinion mechanism , when the vehicle passes over the speed breaker the rack moves downwar then the pinion rotate .
The vehicle weight is 15690 N and the rack move downward 100 mm . How to determine the dimension of rack and pinion and the nb of teeth and pitch ?

Soo you cant draw the spur gear and the rack yourself. Everyone can do Assembling.
Show us how to realy draw the parts and stop inserting them
