Feeling nostalgic watching this video! Decided to give it a bit of a make over - add a new description, thumbnail, tags, end screens...etc. and share it
two tone should never have been abolished to cater for the anti noise people, it is a very clear sound and you can hear it and know where it is unlike the electronic woop woop ones you can only hear when its on your tail
0:01 Just did some research, this was originally Ewyas Harolds WrL 471, which was put into the reserve fleet when they were upgraded to a rescue station and has since been 472
Two Tones were standard fittings on Sabres and Rapiers plus probably the short lived Dagger as well. therefore giving the brigades choices on preference.and also there if for any reason the wailers pack up.
It's a great shame to see/hear of Dennis Sabres going. They're retiring very fast now that a whole bunch of new Scanias have come in. The two tone horns are awesome and I'm gad most new appliances have them - still as you said, nothing can compare to a Sabre bombing down the road with twos sounding ;)
Nice catch! I was wondering if you have a forum or anywhere were people put up their emergency videos and/or pictures? If not, I think someone should make one (I've made forums before) and we can get UK emergency video TH-camrs to be a part of it and have everyones videos on etc. Think that would be good and if I did start one would you be willing to help me with it in anyway?

I see but we have to live with the fact that most fire engine have the electronic siren nowadays the siren was what I grew up with. I also have a different name for the two tone horn
The two tones are better it wakes the drivers up that drive with their head up there assess and it’s more affective with heavy traffic as they move out the way quicker but with the other sirens people don’t know what direction you are coming from but with the two tones they definitely know where you are coming from
@@nickdennis6953 totally agree the two tone you can hear it for greater distances and also know what direction it is, but the woop woop ones you have no idea what direction it is and in some cases you only know a vehicle is there when its right on your tail
Yay for the two tone Dennis!
gimboyblue1990 Yay indeed. Thanks! :)

Very good videos! I love the siren of the first truck!
Fantastic vid mate, cant beat the classic two tone air horns on the first clip, how a British fire engine should sound.
We recently lost our Dennis Sabre, it's a shame but the new Scanias still have the two tones. Still, nothing will compare with the sabres :)

Great clip, but it sounds like you have a cold ?
Chris Mould Thanks. The rain was very intense that day, made me a bit croaky and snuffly.
Were all those videos taken on the same day?
They were!
I don't get why people complain that some fire engines don't have the two tone horn
Because we like the traditional sound.
I see but we have to live with the fact that most fire engine have the electronic siren nowadays the siren was what I grew up with. I also have a different name for the two tone horn
All Scanias still have the Two tones, at least where I'm at :D
