RIGHT I went on it twice once during the day and the other time at night. It wasn’t scary at all during the day but at night I was so shocked it was way more intense than it was during the day.
I rode this coaster when I visited Houston last month. Every drop looks steeper in person, the ride was wicked fast, and it didn't feel short at all. The calmest moments of this ride are the area after the break run and the lift hill. Everything else, even the part between the station and lift hill, was a constant thrill! I like how this coaster builds up speed before the first big drop. I feel coasters like that have a better first drop since the cars already have momentum going into them. Anyways, if you're in the Houston area this coaster is worth it!
You wrote this around the time that I rode the Bullet for the first time. Like the video shows, there is *NO* calmer part after the first drop. It breaks no speed records, but the elements are so packed in there, one immediately after the other, you have no chance to catch your breath. It became one of my favorites.
I remember my first time on this thing. I was like 7, and I was sitting front row. I though it was the hugest roller coaster ever then. Still makes me nostalgic whenever I ride it
I love the bullet sooo much! I rode it a year ago, and now I am going back to Texas on Wednesday for a gymnastics competition, and I am going to definitely ride it again!
So true, i was there and had to gain confidence by watching this video and i thought “oh that first drop is weak” not even close, 90 feet but you keep the speed for the whole ride
Its really fun I went to it my brother was holding my hand all the ride when it drops it feels like your stomach is lost and dosent know where to go up or down,u can't even raise your head up,I looked like the girl from the ring on the roller coaster picture because my hair was not tied and it was on my face,it feels like u were in a crash, people say its painful, well to be honest if u hold on tight it went be painful, trust me 10 years old first roller coaster haven't been on the smallest one before the big one,FIRST ROLLER COASTER FRONT SEAT (with brother) FIRST ROLLER COASTER :)
+John Fleming when astroworld closed down I was six months old and my parents took my brother and I there and I can't remember anything and I'm sad that I went but can't remember anything ! 😞
Well, what really happened was that it wasn't built to spec. It was "a little too fast" on the front half, wasted energy, and the back half wasn't as exciting as it could be. After Ike, it was reprofiled back to the original design. The front half conserves energy better, so isn't QUITE as intense, but unless you'd ridden it before the reprofiling, you wouldn't notice. And because it runs into the back half just a little faster, the back half really comes alive and now lives up to what the designers intended.
This Roller coaster is so much Fun I've Went on it at least 8 times now I'm addicted. I've Gotten so comfortable with it that sometimes I Kind of stand up!! It's scary the first Rome you go on it though
I went to Kemah last year and I almost went on it, but didn't. Now I regret it since I am a huge coaster person now! Maybe another trip to Kemah is in the future for me
Has Bullet had any significant re-tracking or gotten any smoother since opening year? Is it still running PTCs? I love violent wooden coasters (been on most of America's woodies), but Bullet had (has?) major issues with tracking and the choice of non-articulated PTC trains. Opening year Bullet was extremely rough in a way that made it obvious RMC squeezed a woodie into a too-tight configuration and then gave it PTCs which can't handle this type of layout very well.
I WENT TO KEMAH YESTERDAY AND I WAS REALLY SCARED TO GET ON THIS ROLLERCOASTER BC IVE NEVER BEEN ON ONE BEFORE BUT THIS GUY CONVINCED ME TO GET ON WITH HIM AND I WAS LIKE YK WHAT SCREW IT WHAT COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN… I WAS SHAKING AND THE RIDE STARTED GOING AND THEN IT WAS BUILDING UP SPEED AND IT WAS GOING SO HIGH ANDN THEN IT WAS TIME FOR THE DROP… when I tell you it was HORRIBLE. It felt like forever even though it’s for like 2-3 seconds , the rest of the ride was amazing!! 8.5/10 TAKE AWAY THE DROP. 😭🙏🏼
Rode it today! And let me just tell you, it’s amazing, and it definitely lives up to its name! All the time I was was waiting in line, you can feel the whole structure shake!! And someone behind me, told me that somebody died on it, and that is exactly what I needed to hear 🤦♂️ thx a lot, but I survived and it was a thrilling roller coaster!! Yes, there are some neck breaker moments, but hey it’s amazing, also when I got off the second time someone said that the ride messed up his neck! Haha 😂 but hey it’s amazing, and I can agree the ride does have some neck breaker moments, but that’s what makes the ride FUN!!
Well, anything can happen from heart attacks to an Asthma attack, like I would certainly get. I can't do speed, my chest just closes up, can't breathe.
Are those PTC trains? I'm surprised they don't use something that can steer like timberliners... Also, wasn't that partially destroyed by a hurricane? If it is, they rebuilt it nicely!
I went on this roller coaster a week ago with my sisters and friends. It was really awesome and intense, and we all were laughing cause my sister passed out mid way😂
***** I think you've copy-pasted that first paragraph in the video description: "This is the exact same video as the Iron Shark 3D front seat" ;-) Fantastic pace on this coaster!
I was going to go on this ride and it would be my first long roller coaster and wooden one but when I got on the ramp to get on the ride the roller coaster passed by and the whole thing shook so I didn't ride it
Wooden roller coasters are designed to do that so as not to put too much stress on the structure. You were scared away by a literal safety feature deliberately engineered into the ride.

That Guy With the Pointlessly Long Username That You Are Wasting Your Time Reading Right Now It does have anti rollbacks on the lift hill. You can clearly hear them and if you look you can see them running on both sides of the chain

Start off with smaller rides! I'm not sure if you saw The Flare when you were in Kemah, but that was the one I started off with before I got on the Bullet because I was afraid of big rollercoasters. I'd suggest finding coasters that are about the size of the Bullet if you're fine with riding this one, and once you get used to them, just keep progressing to something bigger once you're comfortable. I can also say that if you ride the same coaster a few times, you'll get used to the drops and turns and sort of "train" your stomach to not feel the drops as much!!
