I bought a $500 2004 Volvo 4 years ago and it’s still going strong. 3:months ago I got a 2008 Mazda CX9 for $2,800 and it’s a beauty. Last week I bought a Honda Odyssey 2002 for $800 and it’s all good, immaculate interior. Got them all from Grays in Perth, I am never going to spent more than a few grand on a car ever because even a brand new car can be a pile of crap.
Thanks for the vid. Editor- can you please turn down the volume of the effects? The dialogue is quiet so when I turn up the volume, the effects are almost deafening!
Pickles has moved to national online only auction model they are no longer state by state, Manheim has restarted live auctions. There is branch in Altona North if you want to check it out.
better luck next time jerry. Theres no more soul in these auctions. you used to go and check out the cars check the service books talk to people about them. Smell the oil and fuel and then go in to bid.
I just bought one from grays today… never again. A lot of well hidden problems. DPF problem…. Scanned it after a tow to workshop… and it’s been happening for the last 5000 km 😂
Thanks for the video , great insight to auctions. But wonder why would one buy a car without viewing it? I mean pre pandemic, I would imagine before the auction starts, one would be able to go view the stocks in the yard and do some sort of inspection to assess if worth to put in a bid
Anyone own a ex Police BMW 530d G30 ?? Been tempted to get one of these. I adore this generation of 5-series. A lot of them sit around 120-160,000 km mark. $30,000 - $45,000 grand pricing. All I know is, is that they are always serviced at BMW dealerships. I suspect suspension work to be one of the more costly advisory marks to look out for. This diesel engine is deemed to pretty reliable, obviously if maintained, which they should be. Wear and tear on the interior is inevitable on these ex-cruiser examples, from what I have seen. Mainly steering wheel and centre console compartment.
Auction places are the junkyard of car dealers. Car dealers wholesalers offload their junk at auctions. Grays was a prime example fined $10 million for defrauding the public.
Are the 18 way sports adjustable seats in the cayenne better than the 14 or standard? I’ve been looking for a 958 and it seems the 18 way are a bit harder to get into a comfortable position.
I put my car for private sale and private seller low ball me. It’s human behaviour to be selfish unfortunately so not Jerry. He offer a better than average dealer…
Driving out of Norcal Rd into Station St and then heading to Rooks Rd. Nunawading. Thought I recognised it but had to replay. A bit of potluck buying from an auction as dealers use it to dump bad cars. These can be expensive to repair.
Generally not here in Australia, it's usually only if it's misdescribed, or if something totally obvious has not been disclosed. It's made very clear that you're buying 'as-is'. Also both Pickles & Manheim here do big business auctioning cars on behalf of all levels of Government, as well as the big fleet leasing companies. Most of these cars are sought after as they're mostly well-maintained & will usually still have some factory warranty left. And these auctions are usually open to the public as well.

Manheim in Altona has re-started in-person auctions on Wednesdays. Though you might need to be a bit sneaky with the filming there.....
Go to Manheim auctions in altona north, they let you view the cars and be in the lanes as they auction them live. Much better then Pickles
Just be careful when buying from Government auctions as there are ex Police cars like RAV 4 or Sorrento flogged to the shit .
But always maintained and serviced.
@@rc70ys How do you know they were maintained and serviced?

Grays is so shit
yeah i’ll stay away from the auction game
If you give it the Italian Tune Up it should fix the DPF problem.

Shocking a guy in the business knows not to pay top dollar

Is there a refund or arbitration process if the seller misrepresents the car?

subaru forester not outback**
Auctions are completely useless. You have to add buyers premium over your purchase price
Nice 🔥🔥🔥
Go to manhiem - thats in person
Hope you were able to eat some nice pho at least!!!
Auction without seeing inspections the car you going to buy !!!!!
Kia SORENTO NOT CERATO 😂 Damn !!!
Auctions are not for you. Your bread and butter is paying 50% of car value to desperate sellers that don’t want to wait to sell their cars
👍😉
