    Nice one 👍 If the plans exist the City council should rebuild the station building.

    Amazing footage @UrbanEpeditions thanks for sharing. I visited the Botanical Gardens on Saturday and saw the Ventilation Tunnel where you can see the platforms.
    It would be great if the Council or partnership with a Railway enthusiast company could restore the station to be a museum.

    Used to be able to walk stright through from the botanics to kelvinbridge then through the next tunnel under Kelvingrove to the Secc. There was chat of putting a nightclub down the old station a few years back but never go planning permission.

    Great footage, I use to go through the tunnel as a kid, before PlayStations etc when you explored😄 , I’ve never seen footage of the tunnel that’s entrance is filled in at hyndland road near the tennis club, it has a play park in it now, it heads in the direction of parallel with Gt western road, Kelvindale rd, under Cleveden secondary school out at gartnavel and then on to the station I mentioned.

      Thanks buddy, definitely the good old days haha 😎 this tunnel that's filled in near the tennis club is that a part of this Railway line? I may have been inside as forgetting which ones I've done... check my Kelvinside video buddy 🔎

    I lived not far from the station and I remember as a young teenager walking through the tunnel, circa late 1960's. Plus exploring the old Kirklee station. The tunnel portal entrances were fully acccessible and open. No fencing or locked gates. I've walked not only through that tunnel but then continued across the former Kelvinbridge goods yard (now car park) to the tunnel in opposite corner, under Kelvingrove park. Many other tunnels around the north west and central parts of Glasgow were fully accessible and in relatively good condition.
    Not far from Kirklee station was the Maryhill Central station, now site of a Tesco store. It was still standing too. I have happy memories of walking all the derelict tunnels around the area.
    I was probably an Urban Explorer before the name stuck. Just wish I had the recording technology then, that we have now.

      Amazing buddy, I have a similar experience of growing up around urban regeneration and had my fair share of getting to play/see all this old and new infrastructure being demolished and built. That seed grows as you age and forever want to explore the dark subterranean world... Glasgow is wonderful for having a blend of old world, really old world, and some new stuff. Thanks for appreciating the videos my friend 👍

      Thanks very much 👍 the Gibson Street one under Kelvingrove Park towards St Vincent Crescent is one of the rarer gems I haven't been able to explore infact. Hopefully one day 🤞 have you been there?

    You should explore the Dumfries to Castle Douglas railway in South West Scotland. The area from Nunholm Road to Cargenbridge is now a footpath and theres lots to see.

    Why can't the council make this an open air museum? With a walkway from Kirklees to Kelvinbridge. Something would have to be done about the water. Even a small charge to maintain it. I want to visit this site.

      I would love that, I can imagine an immersive museum that links the grounds of Botanics with the side entrance at Kelvinbridge/Kelvingrove Park... one can only dream at this point 🥺

      You joking, they don’t really want the public to know about these glimpses into history imo, it might make them think why we no longer use these rail networks. It’s a hidden world before our time, ever wondered why everything was built between 1891 - 1905, Ihave

    hello there i was just recently at this site today and was wondering how to get in. i noticed you took a hole to get down is there anyway you could tell me where the hole is located. thank you 😊

    • @Urban-Expeditions
      @Urban-Expeditions  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Howdy partner, the hole is now filled in actually... I was just thinking yesterday that I should have included this detail to make that part of the video more interesting but yeah they filled it in, it was near the Entrance gate so it was infact where the original building once stood. Lots more to come though as working on the new episodes now ✔️👍

      @@Urban-Expeditions I went here today, someone had left a ladder where the house is at the entrance to the botanics, but i thought it was too risky, especially by myself. it really seems theyve sealed it up, even if you get down from otago street, there is another barrier.

    Is it a hard place to find if you don't know the area?

    • @Urban-Expeditions
      @Urban-Expeditions  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The Glasgow Botanic Gardens itself? No you can catch the Subway from City Centre to Hillhead which is just across the Street from these Gardens. Getting underneath the grounds of the Garden to venture into the abandoned Railway below will be all on you as the hole that I crawled into is now filled in/covered up. There's a couple of ways in, network with someone willing to take you is the best option if you aren't a local. It's a done and dusted Explore for me though, onto different ones ✌️ Subscribe for updates 🔍
