God these comments are absurd. The people at AH aren't monsters. If Geoff was truly depressed they wouldn't just publicly berate him about it.
There are so many times you can just see him trying to hold back a smile or laugh even in this video, when he's just staring into the camera. Mostly in the last half. You can definitely tell that he's just doing the Geoff thing: seeing a possible joke and going along with it for as long as he can. That being said, I really do think he has earned his sabbatical. It's like being a full-time dad at home and at work, except at work, they're fully grown adults. So I can definitely see that wearing anyone down over however-many-years since AH really started to take off. He deserves every day of that sabbatical, and more.

Yeah. I haven't seen the third one yet, but this one just felt different from the two I've seen. This one truly has the feel of someone dealing with bona fide depression instead of simple "I haven't gotten laid" in a while.
I'm really affected in a bad way from this, going through a ton of shit myself, hes always been such an amazing funny upbeat guy. When Geoff gets to this point I really start to worry :(

The dude owns a fancy house in a nice city, he has a kickass car and gets regular vacations, he has an awesome daughter, he's an Internet celebrity and he basically only has to answer to himself in his job (a job which mainly consists of getting drunk and playing computer games, mind you).
The dude isn't 'depressed' - he's just tired. He's 41 years old, he's starting to feel his age and his life has been nothing but making AH and Let's Play videos 24/7 for the last 4 years straight. Why do you think Ray left? It's not easy to maintain that enthusiasm for such a long stint. Not to mention, as you get older, you start to become less and less interested in playing computer games.
Trust me, Geoff is just fine - he's just moving on to greener pastures. That's how life works: at some stage, you _have_ to move on. Nothing beautiful lasts forever.

And their goofy attempts to make light out of his bad situation makes him happy that his family is there for him. I'm glad he's taking time (somewhat) to take care of himself. I don't normally watch RT Podcast, Off Topic, or any of the long stuff, but I did watch a half hour or so of the recent Off Topic, and most of the first 20 minutes was talking about Geoff wanting to kill himself, but he can't because he has a kid. That is super depressing because it's not entirely a joke.

I know these videos are pretty funny, but I get the sense that Geoff has a pretty big cloud hanging over his head. Like coming to grips of his little girl finally growing up and him maybe having to start letting go a little; his baby (Achievement Hunter) and everything about it is becoming too big and maybe too much for him to handle. He loves it, but it's too much for him, but it's supposed to be his dream job with the people he loves, but...he's just tired of it all.
This may be Geoff realizing that it's time to finally let his baby go...and retire.

They're in the middle of making a show. The ones closest to him are no doubt having serious conversations with him in private, they already know he's not okay, that's why he's taking a sabbatical, getting therapy etc. It's why he hates that he has shows he still has to make, cuz he has to act at least somewhat together to not depress the shit out of everyone. I think he sort of enjoyed the fact that it was all out there for this one so he didn't have to pretend at all.

As someone who went through a few baaad years of depression, I think Geoff needs as long a break as he wants. It kind of feels as if when he's staring ahead, he's just trying not to cry or break down. We love you Geoff. You've improved so many lives.

Geoff needs a break, a long break from work, like a year long break, a lot of people think that because they play video games for a living, its an easy job, but working in entertainment is a really stressful job, and Geoff doing this for 15 years, he needs 5 years off to fully rest.

There's a difference between bored/tired and depressed. Honestly Sad Geoff 1 is the only one where he's really sad, Sad Geoff 2 he's just bored at home, and Sad Geoff 3 and 4 he's tired (both physically and mentally). The editing I do makes it look like he's sad, plus he does play it up on camera, but I doubt he's seriously depressed.

God forbid it really happens. But what if Geoff just ended it and killed himself. I'm not gonna lie it would tear me apart considering that these guys (especially Geoff) have brought me so much joy over the last 4 years. This is fucking tearing me apart seeing him like this. I hope he's joking around when he acts like this.
Just so you all know, I've had a few people in my life try to kill themselves. This is played up for the cameras; even if he was actually depressed, it wouldn't be nearly as obvious to the usual AH viewer. His friends (Griffon, Burnie, Gus, and the AH crew at least) would be the ones to trust about it, and they wouldn't be talking about it like this in front of 1 million subscribers.
This podcast is what made Bruce leave the company. He saw Geoff and was like... I like joy
