I have no idea who these guys are, but tThis song, and the "Lady of the Ark" song from their Devil Kid Demo's made my week. I love the frenetic energy of the singer and the driving bass and swrilling keyboards make this catchy as hell. Really great lyrics. But did he actually say, "You gave me head, I gave you poo"?
@@mogyoros I dont know... Gives me an off feeling when someones art is very similar to art made by others. Like it's being stolen, maybe? Or like it's childish for an adult to immitate rather than to produce something original. Somehow a bit embarrassing. Maybe shallow of me, but the heart wants what the heart wants. Thank you for dragging me back here, though. Was interesting to have a new listen.
@@Galdring I've always found that take curious. Art will always bleed the lines between someone else's. Think about it this way. If this sound was always in Gashcat's heart, before NMH and just so happened to produce it afterwards, does it really make it stolen? And aren't we just running the art by comparing it elsewhere? To me it doesn't feel stolen, it feels on brand for the genre at the time. But perhaps I'm not as versed as you, perhaps it really is stolen. It's a rare star for something to sound truly original. Most arts are developed on the inspiration of another. In some instances Gashcat has felt to me energized where NMH often feel tired by their success. Comparison will always be the bane of all art imho. Total respect to your opinion. I just think we should appreciate things for what they are, not what we claim them to be.
Needs more singing saw.
You guys are great! Definitely made my day.
that fast bass-picking makes the song rock way hard
Seriosly fantastic
Kurt Cobain on lead guitar, Dave Grohl on bass, John Galm on trumpet. Haha :p Gashcat is great though. Met and hung out with them, such cool people.
"You give me hell, I'll give you proof." Yeah, that works too;-) EIther way I love this song!
I love this song sooo much!!
This is a perfect pastiche of NMH, not a copy, but original enough to hold it’s own. Kyle Craft rules.

The singer said he is not a fan of NMH and it was not even an influence for his music. I guess that is why.
Living in Northwest Louisiana feels like a freak folk song. That's why they're similar probably.
Yep, same here, I can't listen to bands that are not famous si I'll have to wait for a while. It's a shame though :(
I love this!
Cant wait to listen to you when you're famous and successful, GOOD LUCK!
amazing.
wow jeff mangum really did start doing crack
Nah, jeff abandoned the music world pretty quickly. Gashcat took inspiration and made music that’s just as good.
"You give me hell, I'll give you proof."
The beginning reminds me of the office
THIS IS AMAZING do these guys still play?
kyle craft is now solo, his cd just dropped on subpop. its fucking amazing
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO RE FIND THIS SONG AND BECAUSE OF U I CAN NOW LISTEN TO IT
Aids in the morning, Aids in the morning sun
really? but even the lyrics are so similar.
This is just Neutral Milk Hotel though.. the singer even wears the same kind of shirt as Mangum and acts like Mangum too..
NOOOO
I feel bad for his guitar :(
I mean... It's real good, but a bit too similar to Neutral Milk Hotel.
is that a bad thing? discovering more music that is like other good music

@@Galdringlook up the term “pastiche”. This is just as good as NMH, similar, a great addition to the LIMITED NMH catalog.
This song could be lovely if it weren't for the atrocious mixing and mastering--talk about a wall of sound!
yeah that Bass is so fucking loud.
Holy Neutral Milk Hotel copycat
More like a perfect addition to more NMH style music.
Same melody as songs against sex lmao
