- My original video idea couldn't be done today, so I thought I'd have a fun Saturday video that is Atlas Earth related for once. On this video, I do some heavy math on how many parcels it takes to make $1/day on Atlas Earth. The answer may surprise you.

I came up with roughly the same figure. 31 badges and 545 parcels, for those who are more realistic in terms of badge count.

Hey so I created my own spreadsheet to help calculate per hour, per day, boosts and badges. I came up with 2930 with same parameters. So glad my Calcs are right.

Glad to help. But if you're looking for something that you can get a little more out of, I have other beer money apps I look at where you could make a little more. :) AE is just the most gamified way of getting to $20/month.

To get $1 a day I needed 5235 green parcels no boost no nothing else.

That is extremely terrible return at 1.67%, considering inflation you are losing money! They are ripping you off! You get paid more just leaving it in bank savings account.
Most banks these days around 5-6% interest return.
Well that shows the game will be stable at least lol. And why I said don't think of any money you put into this as an investment.
What bank is paying 5% just having it in the savings account?

Obviously that is an Atlas Earth team member/employee. I saw that account get about 3-4K parcels almost overnight. That is empirically impossible to click on a parcel one at a time and get that many. I REFUSE to put money in this as one parcel is a ridiculous $5 each. If you’re putting money into this app that would take a lifetime to get that investment back.

$7300 or roughly 73 shares of SGOV (0-3 T-bills) at 5% would get you $1 a day currently. $3050 or 61 shares of SPYI (S&P500 covered calls) at 12% would also give you $1 a day. Some combination of both would be somewhere in the middle at $5000 and would be a lot safer, cheaper, and have chances for future capital gains

$2850 gets you about 300 shares of AGNC. Which yields $36 a month.
I was supposed to start part 2 of the video around last month on what to do with the earned money, and I think I mentioned I'll be creating an investment portfolio. I just haven't gotten around to it because life has gotten in the way. I'm hoping this week will finally be the week.
@@BeerMoneyEngine global diversification. I forgot the paper but the research suggests 50/50 US and international. If you're outside the US the paper suggests 35/65 home country and then everywhere else. Yes the US outperforms global diversification right now but it's cyclical and US tech wont rally like this forever IMO
I have a question I hope you can answer. So I'm at 150 parcels & I Have enough badges for the 10% boost I also have 3,400 ABs. Should I work on getting more badges first or should I keep saving up to get to 220 first or would it just be OK to just buy 34 parcels. Which would be the best method?
You're close enough I'd push for badges if you can find 20 badges close enough to you without spending a ton on gas, make that push to 31, 61, even 101 if you can.
@BeerMoneyEngine awesome thank you for the fast reply I should be about to get to the 15% badge boost without traveling to far out thanks to the county badges. And they even badge badges for some areas in county's that aren't city's or towns I don't know if you knew that

does the value of the parcels have the ability to go up in price and earn you more rent in the future as atlas earth grows, or will you always earn the same amount depending on which parcel you get?
I believe it's always the same amount. You can try to sell for a profit later on as new mintable land gets scarce.
hey, I just started following your channel so I haven't see all your stuff on Atlas Earth yet. But I've been thinking of a strategy that I wonder if it would yield some results over time, and I'm curious to see if you'd cover your thoughts on the idea on one of your videos if you haven't covered it already. Basically what I've started doing is walking around my neighborhood and buying the parcel that most covers a house, then if it's a common, I immediately put it up for sale for the minimum 150 AB. My thought is...if someone from that house starts with the game someday, they'll most likely want to own all the parcels of their home, as I did when I started, and they just might be willing to pay that extra premium. It would irritate the heck out of me to always open AE at home and see someone else owning a parcel over my home! So if they buy, after AE takes their cut I still made a 20 AB profit. Then I reinvest and cover another house and see if I can land a better than common parcel. I realize this is a very long term play, but still kinda fun to at least do some kind of strategy other than just buying up all around my house. Once I've covered all the houses in walking distance, I'll start taking little driving excursions every few weeks to buy other parcels on other houses. Would love your rhoughts.
That would be an interesting strategy.. it'd require they play the game though and not everyone would be interested.

I just started this as a bit of a joke. Am I correct in assuming that the accumulation only works when the app is open? Or does it just work on time and amount of parcels etc...?
No, it works when the app is idle too. If you've just started, the amount you accumulate is so slow you might not see much a difference until you hit around 50-60 parcels.

Started before end of school year 2023. Now have 115 parcels and about 20 a month...yes I'm an insomniac and can keep boost going all day. Sadly have not added into the game except for conversions once in a while. Anyway this lets me get coffee with my daughter every week so I'm happy.
How’d I do that, how many parcels do I need to make $100 per day, without a boost?
How often do we get the 50X boosts?
They committed to twice a month though I wouldn't entirely count on it? So far it's been 2x a month since they mentioned that goal start of the year though.
I'm so confused haha. I have 31 parcels and make 15 cents a day with the 30x boost...

According to the calculator, 10,522 common parcels with no boost or badges = $1 a day.
If you keep up on watching ads and stuff you can buy a parcel for free just about every day. So after 28 years, 9 months, and 4 weeks, you’ll have finally gotten to the point of making $1 a day if you have the worst luck and never boost at all. 😂

Im jist saving up my ab. I have 53 parcels currently and 7375 ab saved up from games and ad watching, and that's not sotting there watching the ads every 20 minutes. Im just going to keep stacking ab and buy parcels in bulk at some point. I want to get a mayorship or governor but most people around me have over 1k parcels so its going to be awhile lol.
I wish the amount of parcels and the boost rates were the same for Canada as they are in the States. We start at x20 instead of x30, and instead of 150 parcels before the boost rate goes down, we get 60 parcels before it goes down
Yeah, that's due to ad costs being a LOT higher in the US than elsewhere.
@BeerMoneyEngine Thanks. It's just frustrating only being able to have 60 parcels before our boost goes down. I'm not looking at this as a high paying game. I'm looking at it as long term passive income. I've played other for years where I put money into the game, instead of get money out of it. I'm good with the way this game is, just ish we could have more parcels before the oost rate goes down.
@@suzanneboonstra Atlas Earth can be passive income, but you make more going semi-passive and at minimum boosting 6 hours a day. But yeah, I hadn't put a dime into the game until Explorer Club and even with Explorer Club I now make ~$3/month profit. If I don't do EC it'd be >$50.
@BeerMoneyEngine yeah, I'm playing it more semi-passive right now as I'm still building up. I'm at the point where I am almost making $5 in 5 weeks. Still have a long way to go, as I'm only at 51 parcels so far, and a sadly high ratio of commons. But I've only been at it a few months.

Dude, you DO NOT have to only sleep 6 hours to boost 24/7. You only need to wake up ONCE for a measley few minutes to do a couple more ads and get 2-3 hours to cover the rest of the night. Go back to sleep after you're done.
Not everyone can do that. I sleep like a log many nights.
If I wake up once, I'm up for the rest of the night. I have insomnia and haven't slept more than 4-5 hours a night for the past 3 decades. On the upside , I don't have to wake up to be boosted 24/7.

I did for about a year. Lately though my body gives out more than it used to.. kinda have to sleep at least 7.

@@DarkCrimson1999 Basically, yes. You can get more than $5 a day from super boosts when they pop up at 680 parcels, during 1 super boost i get around $12. On a standard day at X6 boost and my X15 standard, i get around $0.63 a day.

Would need around five million spread out evenly. Like forty five thousand legend three hundred thousand epic and six hundred rare. The rest common. That’s given you have normal luck? Anyways it’s possible if you spend around seven hundred million.
Anywhere from 50,000 to 1,052,200 depending on your luck.
The top player currently has 49,372 parcels (24,732 common, 14,736 rare, 7,441 epic, 2,463 legendary), and a 25% boost from many badges. Can’t say how often (s)he keeps the ad boost going, but his/her accrued “rent” is $15,007.59 currently.
You could spend all that time you wasted doing the math at a minimum wage job and make way more money lol.
