Also consider that the iPhone 7, with a 4.7" screen, has roughly the same footprint as most Android phones with 5.2" displays. So you hand someone an iPhone 7 and a Nexus 5X, and they feel like the same size.

Sony has it already on the X, X Performance, X Compact, and XZ, and they're even achieving to be the first non-Google company to release Android 7.1 update, competing with Samsung which will directly jump to 7.1 as the first official Nougat update for the S7 and S7 Edge. Next year, Sony will just become better than they ever did before, and their old golden glory days are going back along with Nokia as they unleash their very best and first ever Android smartphone. 2017 is such an exciting year for technology

S7 Edge should be MVP. Best screen (qhd super amoled), best battery (7 hours SOT on the Exynos), top 3 camera, best design (water proof and micro SD) best looking phone.
Best screen -Nope. AMOLEDs are always oversaturated and has yellowish tint on yellows, and it's still apparent on the S7 and S7 Edge. Basic Mode won't make it any better. Yes it improves, but not defeat the accuracy of the LCDs. The best LCD display on a smartphone right now is the XZ. That super bright, contrastic, deep black levels, clean and accurate whites, as well as the perfect resolution just makes it a no-brainer for Samsung's AMOLED. And this is based from using an S7 Edge and Xperia X in reality. I may say that even the budget XA has better display than the S7 Edge in terms of color accuracy Best battery -Not true. The S7 Edge battery (both Exynos and SnapDragon version) easily degrades within several months of use. Samsung didn't use a great long-lasting battery for their smartphones, and to me that's a huge deal breaker because I won't buy a flagship phone today and replace & buy a new one tomorrow. Top 3 camera -Yes it might be good, but it wasn't as good as I want it for a flagship. Low light performance is great, but daylight picture quality isn't that great. Without zooming, it looks great, until you zoom in and see the lack of detail. Others like the V20 and XZ take better quality daylight photos than the S7 Edge Best design -A subjective area. Although it looks stunning to me, I feel like it's too childish for people. To me, without any sort of fanboyism, the best looking phone for me is the Xperia XZ, and the Mi Mix as a runner up. If waterproofing and SD Card slot makes it the best designed phone, then why is nobody considering the XZ that also features the same thing? Even then, the XZ is more water resistant than the S7 Edge as actual real life test shows I don't intend to contradict your opinion, but I just wanted to share my experience and own judgement. You may disagree or agree with me in some key aspects, but at the end of the day, it's our own money which we are willing to spend on

TH-camrs really seem to forget that the best budget phones are flagships from a while back. Example, I got a Xiaomi Mi3 I found in town for 100$ (Candian). I loaded it up with CM13 (14 is alright releasing nightlies), and this this will run circles around any moto g or whatever new 'budget' smart phones are. 1080p screen, 2gb of ram, quick charge 2.0, 3010mah battery, snapdragon 800, Cyanogen mod 6.0.1 marshmallow. S5s, G4s, iPhone 5s, they're all dirt cheap nowadays.

I got an LG V10 slightly used for $230 USD and it's incredible! I'm not usually a big phone person, but the V10 is just so good and the 4k videos it takes are beautiful. Not to mention removable battery and microSD card slot
You might be right, however you fail to realise the snapdragon 800 is beaten by even the low end cheapsets these days. Also it doesn't support quick charge 2.0, a great budget phone in the really low budgets would be a xiaomi note 3 or the note 4 prime :)
If you can try looking for a ZTE Zmax Pro, it goes between $(US)120ish. Fingerprint reader, FHD display, and a fast mid-range processor, it isn't too bad. Go for the Amazon Fire phone if you are broke, (only $60 US!)
AMA It doesn't have the best camera though, and the features you say are best are very subjective. Most Android enthusiasts would rather have a stock experience than deal with Samsung bloatware. I think MKBHD made a good choice with the Pixel.

Insane specs, huge battery capacities and actually pretty good build qualities for 200$-300$. I guess most of them are not available in US so that's why he doesn't mention them much.
Marin I agree that the budget was a bit high on it, especially that the 3T was a bit more costly than the 3 for slightly better specs, but the OnePlus is actually one of those Chinese phones you're mentioning. Super satisfied with my 3, but it's definitely mid-budget.

-Nope. AMOLEDs are always oversaturated and has yellowish tint on yellows, and it's still apparent on the S7 and S7 Edge. Basic Mode won't make it any better. Yes it improves, but not defeat the accuracy of the LCDs. The best LCD display on a smartphone right now is the XZ. That super bright, contrastic, deep black levels, clean and accurate whites, as well as the perfect resolution just makes it a no-brainer for Samsung's AMOLED. And this is based from using an S7 Edge and Xperia X in reality. I may say that even the budget XA has better display than the S7 Edge in terms of color accuracy
Best battery
-Not true. The S7 Edge battery (both Exynos and SnapDragon version) easily degrades within several months of use. Samsung didn't use a great long-lasting battery for their smartphones, and to me that's a huge deal breaker because I won't buy a flagship phone today and replace & buy a new one tomorrow.
Top 3 camera
-Yes it might be good, but it wasn't as good as I want it for a flagship. Low light performance is great, but daylight picture quality isn't that great. Without zooming, it looks great, until you zoom in and see the lack of detail. Others like the V20 and XZ take better quality daylight photos than the S7 Edge
Best design
-A subjective area. Although it looks stunning to me, I feel like it's too childish for people. To me, without any sort of fanboyism, the best looking phone for me is the Xperia XZ, and the Mi Mix as a runner up. If waterproofing and SD Card slot makes it the best designed phone, then why is nobody considering the XZ that also features the same thing? Even then, the XZ is more water resistant than the S7 Edge as actual real life test shows

amen to that. The 400$ range is great, that is where my phoe is at (moto z play). But a "budget phone" should top out at $200 max. Imo the zmax pro (which can be had anywhere from $40-$180 is the real "budget winner". I grabbed one for my daughter for xmas and am amazed at the phone I got for $99.

TH-camrs really seem to forget that the best budget phones are flagships from a while back.
Example, I got a Xiaomi Mi3 I found in town for 100$ (Candian). I loaded it up with CM13 (14 is alright releasing nightlies), and this this will run circles around any moto g or whatever new 'budget' smart phones are.
1080p screen, 2gb of ram, quick charge 2.0, 3010mah battery, snapdragon 800, Cyanogen mod 6.0.1 marshmallow.
S5s, G4s, iPhone 5s, they're all dirt cheap nowadays.

If you can try looking for a ZTE Zmax Pro, it goes between $(US)120ish. Fingerprint reader, FHD display, and a fast mid-range processor, it isn't too bad. Go for the Amazon Fire phone if you are broke, (only $60 US!)
i would also suggest looking for a cheap, used iphone 5. they go for around $60-$90, or an iphone 5s, which goes for around $150 usd.

Exactly. Not sure why he doesn't mention Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi. If camera is not something you care about much, you should go for Chinese brands. Insane specs, huge battery capacities and actually pretty good build qualities for 200$-300$. I guess most of them are not available in US so that's why he doesn't mention them much.
Marin I agree that the budget was a bit high on it, especially that the 3T was a bit more costly than the 3 for slightly better specs, but the OnePlus is actually one of those Chinese phones you're mentioning. Super satisfied with my 3, but it's definitely mid-budget.
