Great sound, not surprising though since the stuffed 2 AN1X voices in the EX5!
Thanks for watching once more ;)
2 isn't bad, but 4 or 5 would have been even more useful (for playing chords...)
Like in the AN200.
Sold my EX-5 a number of years back. I had put in all the upgrades, including a scsi drive.
Most of all, I miss that keybed. Hard to find a good 76 keybed these days.
Comparing the EX5 to recent synth releases I often think that not too much new ideas / technologies have emerged in the last 20 years. The devices have become smaller and power consumption is less, but the basics are the same.
Agree, beside more storage, processing power and touch-screens, sound generation technologies itself haven’t changed much. People are, actually, going “backwards” to analogs/modulars... Would be nice to see new EX5 with 128-note FDSP polyphony (on all 16 parts) as well as polyphonic AN and mono VL on all 16 parts someday though.
what a great sound
You can change the parameter with the apropriate "soft" knob instead of the dial
That's right. But I found they are to sensitive for my shaky fingers. ;-)
Love this great job .keep them comming
Thanks. I also did one on the AWM patches some time ago.
Thank you for the upload.
Thanks for watching my video ;-)
Great video! So few good videos on the EX5. Can you please post a link or identify which USB floppy replacement drive you used? There are so many I want to get the right one! Thanks!!!!
Thanks for watching my Video! You can buy the cheapest one you find, like this www.amazon.com/SODIAL-SFR1M44-U100K-Floppy-Emulator-Electronic/dp/B00JZCFOA0/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1514881114&sr=8-15&keywords=usb+floppy+emulator (Germany: www.amazon.de/WINGONEER-SFR1M44-U100K-Floppy-Emulator-elektronisch/dp/B00VG58PPA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514881076&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+floppy+emulator).
DON'T install the software provided with these as it's buggy and full of malware. Instead, use the software by IPCAS, which can be found here: www.ipcas.de/support/hardware/usb-disketten-emulator/
I think I'll do a video tutorial on that, too. Thanks for the idea. ;-)
Thank you so much for posting this! Is it hard to format it so the EX5 can store patches and load patches from it? I had read on other sites that you need a SCSI2SD adapter but that is much more expensive and seems like it needs more work.
Edit- sorry I didn't expand your full reply. Thank you for posting the link to the software too! You're the best!
Alex PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a video about replacing the floppy with the usb adaptor. Thank you!
Alex S is cool
This Video needs a breakdown, you move to fast or the speed is too fast to keep up with what your doing
Thanks for watching! Uhm, ok. I can barely remember this video, need to re-watch it myself, so perhaps you are right :-) But you could try and pause the video.
Most You- tube videos have a speed- change setting in the bottom right hand corner. No timestretch though. Turn it low and it sounds like the presenter has just woken up from having an operation ..
