Well, a few are temporary stadia (those in Long Beach and those in the Sepulveda Basin) which put together would be the cost of one NEW indoor stadium.

Before this year last time Toyko had the Summer Olympics was back in 1964 the last time LA hosted the Olympics was back in 1984 before the 2020 and 2028 Olympics

The group stage of the football tournament is usually played at venues in a wider geographical area because there's just so many matches one stadium can hold before the pitch turns to shit. In 1984 two groups played in Boston, Annapolis and the others in Stanford and Pasadena. The knockout stage was at Stanford and Pasadena and the Semis and Final in Pasadena.

The preliminaries are done in far-away cities with the best stadia. As the tournament winds down to the quarters, the semis and the finals, those return to the anchor host city. If you will study World Cup 2026, there is that narrowing process also. That's just the way it's done.

I'd keep Los Angeles, Paris and London plus Berlin and Munich for standby Cities for the Olympic Movement. Tokyo and Nagano for Winter/Summer and Beijing (Winter/Summer). Just a thought.

Curious...I may have missed it, but are there plans to incorporate the new Clippers arena into the 2028 games? This place looks like it is going to be amazing, and with it fitting very nicely in the Inglewood/SOFI Stadium section of the games, it seems like a no brainer. Thanks!

Yeah. That might allow LA28 to then move up Indoor Volleyball from Anaheim to Inglewood; so closer to the UCLA-OV for the Volleyball athletes.

Yes, 8 are required, as 28 teams (16 in the Men's and 12 in the Women's)dispute the games, if you use only one stadium the lawn will not hold and will spoil

@@Luizfelipe-g8v I could see it being expanded to even more teams for 2028 since Los Angeles has even more stadiums available than what was listed here. Some universities and colleges have stadiums as well that could be used for soccer especially stadiums with tracks which would allow them to temporarily increase the size of the field to accommodate soccer. For example, East Los Angeles College has such a facility. It's Weingart Stadium and seats about 23,000.

Eh. Homeless people will always be present REGARDLESS of the situation. And sports tournaments will happen regardless of how many "homeless" people there are. One did not cause the other; and vice-versa. Name an Olympics where this "looting and stealing" happened at the same time. NONE - NADA. Not gonna happen.

Homeless people are everywhere in the USA lmao. I live in Kentucky and I see homeless people every week. The olympics will never stop hosting in the USA either from time-to-time since USA is heavily involved in both summer and winter.
