The Pig Man proves the whole intelligence thing is a myth, or maybe it’s just by different standards. The Snake Man was right 1 thing when attacking Brooke, “Next time u choose a snake, make sure it’s not poisonous”. If he was and devenomed, the spell must’ve restored it.
Both spells don’t make sense. “Abate” can’t be used like that. You can’t “abate” a heart. Similarly, what the hell does “I thee impart” mean? “I you impart”??? God, the writing on this show was bad.
If remember someone who was actually into witchcraft or paganism. I think there had to an exchange of sorts to balance out the universe. So it’s incomplete as a spell.
Phoebe should have been let go instead of Shannen Doherty. Shannen made the show believable with her acting prowess. Once Shannen left the show it went downhill. The story line’s unbelievable and stupid. I’m surprised it lasted as long as it did. Alyssa’s acting was actually elevated in the scenes with Prue. She had a tough time carrying a scene and make it believable on her own.
No one should’ve been let go imo. I agree that Charmed lost a lot of its drama and seriousness in the last seasons as it went into a nearly sitcom-y territory but I’d put that down to the directors/writers rather than Alyssa’s acting skills.
Shannen was very good on the show but I think all three of the originals were strong in their own ways, and had great on screen chemistry with each other. Take either one out and it was bound to change. For better, worse, or neutral is all a subjective opinion. Some people feel the show got better after Prue left, giving the other characters a chance to change and grow in her absence and in some ways because of her absence. I tend to prefer the earlier seasons but I do like Rose as Paige and I think she brought an interesting chemistry to the newly formed combination of three. The silly fantasy leprechaun types of stories weren’t my thing. It’s possible that if Shannen had remained with the show and it was the same three, it might not have lasted as long as it did, since audiences might have grown bored faster. Also reading between the lines of what has been said over the years and up until very recently, including Shannen and Holly’s podcast chat, I believe Shannen was frustrated with the direction of the show, with how the producers operated and didn’t (in her opinion) listen to her suggestions enough, and wanted to leave, regardless of what transpired.
