  • Highlights of the incredible 4-4 draw with Blyth Spartans at Latimer Park in the Vanarama National League North.
An amazing fight back by the Poppies, having been 3-0 down at half time, and hats off to Callum Roberts for his stunning hat-trick for the Spartans.

When did KTFC leave their old ground? And where did they move to, wasn't it Rushden? So where is Latimer Park? THANKS!

The Poppies left Rockingham road at the end of the 2010/11 season. They then played at Nene Park - the former home of Rushden & Diamonds. The club nearly folded in 2012, but was saved, and finished the 2012/13 season playing at Steel Park in Corby. They then moved to their current home of Latimer Park, which is in Burton Latimer (close to the Weetabix factory). The club are currently in the process of acquiring a piece of land from Kettering Borough Council, at the back of Weekley Glebe in Kettering, in order to have a new match day facility back in Kettering.

@@KetteringTownFootballClub I understand that both Rockingham Road and Nene Park were demolished after you guys were there. Obviously you are the Grim Reaper of pitches. Perhaps they will demolish this one after you leave - it certainly looks as though it should be. The only pitch I have seen that is worse is Poole Town's Tatnum.

The only thing worse than your pitch was the Blythe keeper. The pitch is appalling, I am surprised you can play anything approaching for football on it.

There was near on 2 weeks of heavy rainfall leading up to this game. The game only went ahead thanks to an army of volunteers who turned out to fork the pitch, and clear the standing water. Re-scheduling the game would have meant a long mid-week trip for Blyth.

The condition of the pitch prior to the game was good - but it cut up badly in the course of play: www.ketteringtownfc.com/news/game-on-update
