What are you buying to close out this week?

So a quick question here, I'm Canadian so I'm not too sure about what a Roth IRA vs a 401k portfolio means as far as pretax and after tax goes. I don't really need the explanation of that per say, but my question is if you were to sell that chunk of Vanguard to pay your house off, how will that change your pretax and after tax percentages? Second part to that question, is this potential move an attempt to move towards a more advantageous area as far as pretax and after tax?

Roth is an IRA where there are no taxes taken out after I am 59.5. It should be a wash as far as pre tax and after tax as the after tax Vanguard will go away, but will be shown as home equity and cash (until taxes are paid). This move is to get my expenses as low as possible so that work can be optional and possibly retire early in the very near future.

Why sell your entire portfolio and pay all those taxes to pay off your mortgage? Why not just pause investing and put an extra $100 a week that you've been doing towards mortgage? You could even turn the drip off and have the dividends transferred to your checking account to add to it
